    Tesla and Ionity have raised their by a few cents. Cant speak for the others as I dont use them regularly.

    If energy input prices stay high, we will eventually see charging prices rise in line with electricity wholesale costs. Whilst this may lag behind fuel prices.

    Fuel prices are much more sensitive to supply shocks as we are currently seeing. Conversely though, as we have seen in the last few years when prices do eventually fall, electricity prices can take far longer to drop also.

    Thanks, I would have expected when the main suppliers EI, Airtricity,BGE announced price hikes the charger price would go up but not before.Presume ESB Ecars haven't increased

    As you do most of the charging at home, occasional sessions at the public networks don't matter much. Annoying to see the high prices, but an extra cost of say the price of a litre of diesel per charge won't really matter in the greater scheme of things.

    Nissan Leaf Owners…….

    I tried to find the Leaf thread but no joy!

    40 kWh car. Everything fine except the FM radio won’t pick up any station other than static.
    Friend was looking at one today. Would have bought only for that issue.

    Anyone come across that before?

    One of the work fleet (6 years ago) of 40kW had a radio that never worked so, yes, but I've no fix for you unfortunately.

    It also drained the 12V battery like mad (6 years ago, the cars weren't getting driven very much…) compared to the rest come to think of it.

    I was more saying would this be a pull towards EVs in terms of the price of diesel is a huge talking point, if 2 of the bigger charging networks haven't increased prices YET from a marketing POV it might have an impact

    The price increases of the charging networks will never quite match the increases that diesel/petrol sees for a number of reasons, but I think the biggest is that the electricity supply network has close to zero reliance on oil.

    That doesn't insulate electricity prices entirely for various reasons - some of our electric comes from abroad where oil is a factor, there's factors of supply/demand, electric companies are out to make money so they'll use any excuse to raise prices, etc etc.

    Ah standard Journal comments, it's usually just filled with the worst nutters on the internet — the third one is some guy genuinely insinuating the Iran War is all a conspiracy to push EV adoption, truly I don't know how those people manage to figure out a keyboard.

    Fuel is only one part of the cost of ownership. This oil spike will probably only last a few months. It's having too big an impact on everything. They will have to tackle it.

    I'm fairness it's a decently written article. Using the eUp might seem odd but it has all the same pros and cons as any other BEV. He overpaid for it and has massive depreciation on it. Kinda skips past that. That really nulls any fuel saving. But he was unlucky with the timing when he bought. But that's not true today when we have cheaper new and used BEVs.

    I like the idea of a small light BEV. It's all many people need.

    Almost bought an E-Up early last year for a neighbour. Smashing little car, very simple for an elderly lady, unfortunately she died before finalising.

    Iirc it was around 16k for a garage registered car, almost no mileage.

    We have a Kona, and it's got those plastic wind deflector things on the two front windows. I mentioned having them taken off in the garage and the service manager seemed very adamant they should stay in. I assume they're there to reduce wind noise? They seem easy to remove and I don't like them, when you're driving on a wet day the water doesn't clear off the windows properly.
