Yes, the next democratic administration will have to burn the candle at both ends, and hopefully get a 8 year term with the same President. 8 years is about 25% of the time needed to recover though.

Well no- things are becoming much clearer-Trump has developed an “excuse” not to help a fellow NATO country if attacked, because NATO didn’t help America with Iran.

We know that’s bullsh1t because NATO wasn’t set up to work that way- but truth doesn’t matter to Trump- he has his excuse and get out clause ready to feed thicko Americans who will likely be only thrilled to hear it.

North Korea doesn't have oil so no one cares enough to overthrow their government.

That's going to raise some awkward questions for the new rightist catholic trend exemplified by Vance and Bannon. Complacent Hindus (remember Ramaswamy?), Jews…and now Catholics are finding that one can never take one's secure place in MAGA world for granted.

Like going in to someone’s house. Taking on a dump on their kitchen table. Telling them to clean it up, that it will be easy to clean up and you might help a bit if they ask. Utter scum

Trump mulls 'winding down' war - and leaving Strait of Hormuz crisis to 'other nations'

Donald Trump says the US is considering "winding down" his war with Iran.

He says other nations will have to guard and police the Strait of Hormuz as necessary, after his attacks on the country prompted Iran to target vessels in the crucial world shipping lane.

The US will help "if asked" but that "shouldn't be necessary", he says, calling it "an easy Military Operation" for those nations.

"We are getting very close to meeting our objectives as we consider winding down our great Military efforts in the Middle East with respect to the Terrorist Regime of Iran," Trump wrote.

"The Hormuz Strait will have to be guarded and policed, as necessary, by other Nations who use it — The United States does not! If asked, we will help these Countries in their Hormuz efforts, but it shouldn’t be necessary once Iran's threat is eradicated. Importantly, it will be an easy Military Operation for them."

Taco strikes again. Or he achieved his objective. Set the whole place ablaze out of sheer malignancy for the sole purpose to cause as much damage for the rest of the world as possible.

A friend of mine said at the beginning "but what's so bad about Trump? He's just goofing off, people are laughing at him, instead of everything being crap and boring under Biden, it's now crap and entertaining under Trump, what really bad things has he done besides his rhetoric?"

    He's not saying that anymore.

Really does look like Trump is just going to say 'We won!' and go home, and let others worry about the mess he left behind. I'd say his Gulf State allies will love him for that, especially if Iran just say 'Ehm, we're not done yet'

Thought that was on the cards but doesn't appear to be as straight forward as that. Seems they need the Strait open as much as the rest of us

It was working just fine until he and his Board of Piss warmongering side-kick Netanyahu turned up.

He is like an unsupervised two year old left alone in a house mindlessly thrashing one room before getting bored and then moving on to the next.

There are people in care homes with more cop-on than this fcukwit that would not be allowed out in the garden on their own.

It has some merit. That merit is not imagined. From my limited understanding, one problem is that Taiwan failed to assert its complete independence from China when it could have because the KMT still wanted to run the whole country after they lost the civil war. I wouldn’t consider myself knowledgable enough to judge it any further.

The waster getting out of the Middle East would probably be no bad thing at all - the alternative of the war going on for months is not an appealing one.

Respect and RIP Chuck Norris. But this made me laugh.

    4) Never allowing Iran get even close to Nuclear capability.

I thought there was an imminent threat that Iran was about to deploy a nuclear weapon against Israel and/or USA?

In another court reversal for the Admin, senior federal judge Paul Friedman ruled that several of the restrictions Sec Hegseth made obligatory on journalists in the Pentagon are unconstitutional and has voided them. Para 3 in the link below shows the wording of the judges ruling and what it covered. The lawsuit was started by the NYT after Hegseth's restrictions were made last Oct.

There may be a further effect of the voiding of Hegseths restrictions. Last week, the Stars and Stripes publication came under further restrictions within the Pentagon building itselff on what it, as a journalistic newspaper, could cover and report on from the Pentagon but there is no mention of those new restrictions in the Reuters report.

Tibet didn't just do that. Taiwan also claims it since the nationalists initially took power.

I'll leave you off the ignore list as Taiwan actually claims more territory than the prc.

Yeah but who’s going to tell Iran that it’s over? At the very least this places Iran in a very strong negotiation position with other countries -“we won’t bomb your oil tankers if you…..”

Clearly Trump has created this mess to play havoc with world economies-and no doubt play the stock market to his advantage for personal gain. He’s made his money and fcked up international economies that will only make America look better for a few months until election time which is all he needs.

The Iranian incursion was pointless and senseless when looked through the lens of Middle Eastern peace and stability - but very fruitful and strategic when viewed through the lens of personal gain for Trump and MAGA regime

Making it all up as he goes along.

I am sure his loyal fans will be dumb enough to lap this up, the US not helping with the straight will keep their precious gas prices high.

Trump has created this mess because he is an easily manipulated child with the self control of a 2 year old. Let's not pretend there is some grand masterplan behind it all.

If the US withdraw, I just don't see Iran stopping attacking Israel. They know the air defence stockpiles are low.

I think though that they'll leave the muslim states alone, but this will be a protracted Iran Israel conflict

Was Zappa a broken clock who just happened to be right or ,as his conviction in this montage seems to show a very clear minded observer of the shíthouse country he lived in ?

Some irony him having been Iranian too.

Just imagine how much of an administrative nightmare it's going to be for the next sensible government to take the reins in the US.

I wouldn't envy anyone having to clean up Trump's mess. It's going to be a gigantic task.

And they'll likely get no thanks for it, and assuming it's a Democrat next, the US will just swing back to Republicans. Only bright side is it won't be Trump. The US is absolutely f**ked for 15/20 years at least, if not forever

Dimwit Americans seem to have a similar relationship with the republicans that ireland did with Fianna Fail for years, they always seem to go easier on them than t'other crowd no matter how much they fucked up...it took a succession of Haughey, Reynolds, Ahern and Cwen's sleaze and incompetence before alot of Irish people saw sense(still a large % vote them), wonder what it will take Americans?
