it is life.. wars and death/conflicts and killings have been happening since man first arrived on earth. It’s damn awful. Nothing to do with downplaying anything.

I actually added other questions to my post earlier. There are 5. I think I was editing as you were replying to the original 2. Apologies. You addressed #3. Do you mind having a go at the other 4?

I'll let you argue the IRA/Britain/ROI point with the other poster.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Has this bombing been brought up in this thread by yourself or anyone? I haven’t seen it yet today, any links to non conspiracy theory normal news media? it’s hard to comment on something I haven’t yet read about, unlike some I prefer to think things through instead of just launching into performative denunciations based on assumptions or blind support for whatever deplorable football team one chooses to support in this war

So far today discussions been along lines of

    1. Attacks on civilians and non belligerents are all kosher because <insert insane reasons here>
    2. Misery and refugees are good because it will teach em Europeans a lesson or something

I already said I don’t think a genocide has occurred.

But what happened October 7 to Israel, and what happened in response will not reduce hatred/terrorism. Both sides will hate each other even more.

Palestinian people did support/cheer after 9/11. How many. I don’t know..

What facts? All I seen is justifications and excuses for group A committing warcrimes because group B is claimed to have done something bad in past

That’s not a fact based discussion but a kindergarten grade discourse most people grow out of in primary school when they learn that two wrongs don’t make a right

Remember 9/11? Who was out dancing on the streets celebrating that massacre?”

Literally, the first people dancing in the street following the 9/11 attacks were the dancing Israelis.

Are you suggesting that if the Irish government had given the IRA tacit support, this would have given the British armed forces permission to bomb the Republic or even invade it? I can assure this would have been 100% illegal under international law.

Israel allowed the financing of Hamas right up to Oct 7th.

The IDF butchered scores of Israelis too. Then proceeded to genocide Gaza.

Convenient you're giving a murderous warmonger a free pass there.

Israel wants the Palestinians wiped out. The Palestinians want Israel wiped out.

Who is actually carrying out their stated goals? Hint - only one of them.

Ok let's go beyond the genocide.

What about war crimes? Collective punishment perhaps? Destroying all the hospitals?

Btw until you get the numbers that celebrated 9/11, you can't really say many Gazans did. That's just misleading.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

The "genocide narrative" is a misnomer. Genocide is clearly defined. It's easy enough to see if a perpetrator is ticking any of the boxes. In the case of Gaza, Israel is ticking all of the boxes.

And many many people agree. And not just people on social media - Jewish scholars, Holocaust historians, multiple aid agencies, the UN, Legal organisations and many States.

Oh, and the ICJ stated the SA case is plausible - so plausible that the ICJ issued interim measures for Israel to implement - twice. Israel ignored them - twice. Hence the de facto famine in Gaza. More Genocide.

You may be right that you're "hardly alone" in thinking there is no Genocide. But then just one more person that agrees with you would mean your "hardly alone". I'd imagine you're in a very very small, and dwindling, cohort. Certainly a minority.

The country that is supposedly 'facing an existential threat to its very existence' is the one doing all the bombing, killing and invading. Strange how the one dishing out all the violence is the apparent victim here.

You have to remember, they (the nuclear power) are facing an existential threat from people throwing figurative, in the context of them being nuclear armed, stones at them. And let us not forget the threat posed to them by children throwing literal stones at them.

I still can't my head around what motivates people to wake up in the morning and say to themselves, 'now it's time to go to boards.ie and defend war crimes'.

It's one thing for a soldier to face an opposing soldier and for them to have at it.

But for a 60 ton Merkava battle tank (crew of four) to face a five years old girl and riddle her with over 300 bullets is an entirely different thing.

Israel is responsible for thousand of utterly depraved atrocities in Gaza.

For "the most moral army in the world" that's something.

But to then release the IDF perpetrators who anally raped a prisoner with an iron bar, and call them heroes, that would be out of the playbook of a seriously broken and depraved society.

You are here endlessly posting in this thread while banned from the Ukraine war thread.

You are ok with Ukrainian kids being bombed?

If not you might link to where you have? You have been asked enough times.

The "existential threat" canard and the "antisemitism" argument have both lost meaning in recent times.

In the case of the antisemitism card. that simply allows actual anti-semites to wave away any criticism. Israel's overuse of it has rendered it moot. And that is a disgrace.

As for "existential threat, Israel is the only one bombing buildings into dust and vaporising civilians. Though perhaps being vaporised is better than starving to death.

Is not the US gameplan...they sadly are being led by a bunch of fcuking degenerate morons...the gameplan is down to those that have managed to manipulate them and those that will now exploit this massive **** up for their own gain in the coming years...

Don't expect any sort of coherent plan while this administration has power/influence...expect further chaos and retardation until they are reigned in by the consequences of their own actions/the fools that voted them in begin to register what a catastrophe they are...and don't expect what comes next from the fools to be much of an improvement either

Starmer getting heavily criticised in the UK for allowing the US to use their bases to attack Iran. Trump insulted him about 20 times this week and even now is saying it should have happened sooner. Plus mocking their war dead from Afghanistan etc and calling them cowards earlier today. He just looks utterly pathetic.

widespread reporting but the US and Israelis.

    The same people

Who said that the Red Crescent medics who were executed were terrorists until a video proved other wise.

The same people who denied prisoners were raked and sodimsise until a video proved otherwise. P.S the charges were dropped

the same people who denied having any advance knowledge of 7 Oct.

The same pople who shot unarmed hostages .

The same people who killed Iranians and Hamas during peace talks

Reports that Russia is sending massive amounts of arms to Iran disguised as humanitarian aid. Also reports Iran had set up drone factories in Tajikistan.

Hard to know what is going on really.

Trump says US considering winding down military efforts in war with Iran

President Donald Trump said on Friday the US was getting very close to meeting its objectives as it considers winding down its military efforts in the Iran war and called on countries that use Strait of Hormuz to guard and police it "as necessary."

"The Hormuz Strait will have to be guarded and policed, as necessary, by other Nations who use it — The United States does not!," Trump said in a post on Truth Social."If asked, we will help these Countries in their Hormuz efforts, but it shouldn’t be necessary once Iran’s threat is eradicated," he said.

"We are getting very close to meeting our objectives as we consider winding down our great Military efforts in the Middle East with respect to the Terrorist Regime of Iran: (1) Completely degrading Iranian Missile Capability, Launchers, and everything else pertaining to them. (2) Destroying Iran’s Defense Industrial Base. (3) Eliminating their Navy and Air Force, including Anti Aircraft Weaponry. (4) Never allowing Iran to get even close to Nuclear Capability, and always being in a position where the U.S.A. can quickly and powerfully react to such a situation, should it take place. (5) Protecting, at the highest level, our Middle Eastern Allies, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, and others," Trump said.

Where are they getting these arms? They're sending men out on donkeys in the Donbas but have spare arms for Iran?

The actions of an authoritarian, theocratic regime really shouldn't be a benchmark against which the actions of "The Only Democracy in the Middle East" and the "Leaders of the Free World" are judged but ok. I guess the killing of a disproportionate number of innocent Iranians is just incidental in the process of waging an illegal war. Similarly, with the disproportionate killing of innocent Lebanese people is incidental in the process of yet another invasion by an aggressor. Similarly with the disproportionate killing of Palestinian people, in yet another attempt to commit ethnic cleansing, and this time around possible genocide is just incidental in the process of expansionism. You should consider your own musings on rationality.

Well hopefully now that both Iran and the United States have declared victory this sorry affair may soon come to an end. Israel may soon also tire of invading Lebanon.

Really the mid terms cant come fast enough.
