On a more serious note, I've been doing some back-of-the-envelope calculations about how much it would cost me to fit out a new place, given that council flats are unfurnished. Getting the floor plans has allowed me to refine that and get an idea about how much money I need to apply for to fit out the place if I do get it.

When I got my place I had no idea of the layout but I stupidly took more stuff than I needed. Years later I still have to throw stuff out and buy furniture.

I know the feeling. Even seeing the size of the place, I fear that I'm gonna have to throw out a lot of stuff. Still, I'm someone who likes to plan ahead.

Besides, IKEA stole a lot of their design ideas from people like Alvar & Aino Aalto or Iittala, some of my favourite designers & architects, so when there's a tool available that allows me to build my dream place with that (yes, I'm an IKEA kid 🤪), I'm gonna take that opportunity & run with it!

Breaded ham not only retains moisture better but also adds flavour and texture. Non breaded alternatives are available. (I come from a long line of pork butchers!)

Homeside here, keeping an eye on the sky to see if the northern lights are going to make an appearance. There's a geomagnetic storm in progress at the moment but it's on the weak side so I'm not sure if we'll get lucky…

Gorgeous day here also. Few TAs this morning, got my nails done but don't like them, got the car washed but they were busy and I feel they did a rushed job and it's only kinda half done, hit a big pothole ( I know it's there for months but went straight into it). On a positive note I'm heading to my favourite restaurant later, will also have a couple of drinks and great company…I just haven't the mojo to get ready.
