The performance and heart we wanted to see. Do this every game and relegation talk will soon disappear.

That was a great performance with plenty of fight and running.
Makes such a change and hopefully we can do that against Forrest on Sunday.

Immense effort from Gray (player of the season) , Tel and Simons...

Great to get a win !!!!!! Wow.

But its the effort thats the real plus , it was good against Pool, and better tonight.

Are we moving in the right way ? 🤔

A win, players back, some intensity, even some invention. Play like that in the league and we willl be alright.

Kind of what I was hoping for. A win tonight, but now free to concentrate on avoiding relegation. Notts Forest on Sunday is absolutely crucial. 🤞

good win. Good performance. We could have said ‘what if’ if tel had made it 2 nil but I think it best to concentrate on the job that needs to be done in the PL.

Hope we give Forrest a lesson. Stick it to MGW.

That was a really positive performance. It went can carry the momentum from the last 2 games into the end of the season we will be alright. At the beginning of last week I couldn't see a way out of this mess but hope is rising.

The fans were excellent. All we have been asking for is something to get behind and we have that, for now anyway

    Gray was fantastic

Dunne was not impressed. He said that Atletico were only half interested and Romero and VdV were all over the place defensively doing their own thing.

Personally I have always thought pushing up a central defender is something modern defences don’t cope with very well and in a near dead rubber, it’s worth a punt. We do need to fire in crosses when they are up there though. The endless third rate Pep tribute act of working it back to a keeper who dreads having the ball at his feet makes zero sense. Muani scored one and should have had another from quick crosses.

Dunne sounded like a gooner or someone whose accumulater just died after he told the pub the next round was on him.

I suppose we will know on Sunday if we turned a corner or it was just lads auditioning for sunnier climes. I have to say I had no idea Spence could track back at the speed he hit when snuffing out the late break.

The last two games the teams were under no pressure and were essentially free hits as we weren't expected to get anything from them.

Totally different ball game on Sunday when the pressure will be on them especially at home. Let's see how the team and fans in the ground react should they suffer an early set back.

Hopefully the Forest game goes to extra time tonight!

I was 100% Tudor out until kick off last night.

Now im more 50-50. Its hard to know what percentage of the last two games is down to Tudor and what's down to the players actually realising they needed to get us out of this ****.

As per the point made above, the next game is a completely different kettle of fish.

The fact the value is €17m says it all really.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,991 ✭✭✭✭greenspurs

    True ...

Is it a 'good time' to be releasing/leaking these things though ?

The squad is unsettled enough without lads deciding to fcuk off .... shows how much they care i suppose ? Not surprising.

It's been known for a while that Vicario wanted to go back to Italy, so no surprise there. Need to get someone in that can handle balls into the box. Try get Trafford from City i'd say.

No thanks it's time to buy a experienced competent goalkeeper.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭tom1ie

For me I think Kelleher would be a huge upgrade on Vicario, wether we’d get him would be another thing entirely.

I was taken aback listening to the latest VFTL podcast, I didn’t realise Danny Kelly has cancer.
Hope he gets better soon he’s a die hard spurs fan and always great to listen to.

Vicario has been poor this season, his confidence is shot. Still a good shot stopper but distribution is brutal and not good in the air. Don't think Trafford is the solution.. Separately was actually glad to see Forest go through, the more distractions/potential to pick up injuries, the better. Which Spurs will turn up on Sunday and what team will he pick? Looks like Gray and Sarr in CM is his preferred option at this point.

Hes living in North Kilkenny ...

Danny Kelly. ....Not Kelleher , or Vicario.....

Yeah, wishing Danny all the best. He's an excellent host on VFTL and a real passionate Spurs man.

We really messed up by skimping on paying the asking price for Raya and pivoting to the cheaper Vicario. A familiar story across the pitch. How many average, mid-priced RB's did we buy trying to replace Walker and Trippier? Doherty, Aurier, Emerson off the top of my head. Spence took time to become a usable player, and Porro is good, but far from perfect. Buy cheap, buy again (and again).

For a supposed leader in the squad, Vicario's attitude is horrendous. Always pointing the finger of blame elsewhere for his howlers, usually roaring at a younger player (Bergvall, Gray).

I see Vicario is undergoing surgery for a hernia now. Don't know how long he's gonna be out for but that's another one to add to the injury list.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,355 ✭✭✭joeguevara

it’s confusing if the minor op will be after the Forrest match. We have 3 weeks off. We need him for the Forrest match imo

You could not make this injury stuff up anymore, I know these days a hernia op is considered small but FFS.

Hes having the op after the Forest game.

We have 3 weeks off then , Recovery is supposed to be 4 weeks.....

So he'll probably miss the rest of the season 😂
