Today ? My own. 00 reg Toyota Yaris. 68k miles. I have use of other cars for longer journeys but for a 5 min commute to work and local driving its great. So cheap to run.

Spotted Thursday in Knocktopher, Co. Kilkenny. One of the free services eventually says it's from 1977. It's also an import from UK.

Green Datsun 120Y - no camera with me so this is a pic pulled from the internet. Only difference is the one I saw looked like it had been sprayed with hand held aerosol cans. I thought they were vile back in the day and still do today.

Only old-ish I suppose, 93 reg, but not common. Nissan 180SX Type II.

They are actually common enough around. (I see them mostly up on trucks/trailers 😂 ) I think they are popular for drifting (RWD with a decent bit of power) and maybe in the modified scene (if indeed that is still a thing? )

A few from the last few months

The Corsa is one I “saved” a few months ago. New crank sensor and a tiny little weld to a sill and it flew through an NCT. Only 58k miles on it and 1 previous owner

A few oldies spotted in Alicante last week. Seat 127, Audi 100 and Renault 6. Seat 127 so similar to Mk.1 Fiat 127

Oh god that renault reminded me of my old gym teacher who had the same model. In his newry twang he would say - right men - 10 laps of the field while he sat down on the side lines reading his Irish times and smoking his pipe.

    Oh god yes - that's delicious. 😎

I saw this Mint 1995 Celeca (does last Thursday count) - must be original Irish car too given the low digits.

Apologies for the crappy pic - spotted in Bray at the weekend.

Photo does not do it any justice, this looked showroom fresh.

beautiful car. What a shame we don’t get the likes of these anymore, imagine one time all mainstream car manufacturers had at least one sporty offering like this. Looks to be original Irish reg car too, wonder how many new Celicas they would have sold back then

Lovely looking car, but a few things catch the eye.

Theres somethings up with the reg.

1993 was the beginning of the 6th gen... So that 5th gen on a 95 plate is an oddity, a late reg. or a cut and shunt or something else?

Its been clearly resprayed see the odd looking badges on the rear.

Also its registered as a regular 2wd not a GT-Four soo thats not the original bonnet or front end.

Sorry lad, it may look mint but its actually a bit of a liquorice allsorts.

Nice car - shame about the ZV plate. Would look much better with the standard year and county plate of that era.

I've walked past this house every day Mon-Fri for 5 years, and only once have I seen the covers off.

    IMG_20250411_084718.jpg IMG_20250411_084728.jpg

So much space in the engine bay, compared to modern cars.

The 405, especially the very last run out models were gorgeous 👌

Thats a GTX, which I believe was a high spec model or maybe a special edition run-out model (replacement 406 came out in 1996). Nice find.
