Well, Israel did forewarn Lebanon a couple of days back to reflect on what Israel did to Gaza.

    Will this be Genocide V2.0?

The absence of even a drop of humanity is striking. These are Israeli soldiers who used iron bars and brush handles to rape handcuffed detainees. The only question remaining is whether they drugged the detainees to make it like a date / Einstein era rape?

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz recently met with the soldiers responsible for raping a Palestinian prisoner at the Sde Teiman torture facility, ordering their reinstatement to the army and apologizing to them for the “injustice” they faced.

The meeting came days after the charges against them were officially dropped.

According to Hebrew media reports, including Channel 14, the soldiers from Force 100 attended the meeting with Katz wearing masks, in order to conceal their identities.

During the meeting, Katz told the soldiers, “I apologize for the injustice the system has done to you,” referring to the investigations opened against them and the “psychological harm” he said was caused by the military legal process.

I million people already displaced in Lebanon. Many of those will claim asylum in Europe.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Cue "it's not a genocide because only x% of the population are killed or displaced" followed by "they chose Hezbollah it's their own fault" to "you're being anti-Semitic".

A rebuilt Hezbollah seems to have been managed secretly, maybe Hamas gave them advice? These David and Goliath clashes are not good news for the Bible Thumpers.

For over a year, Israel, Washington and even Lebanon’s government have been speaking as if Hezbollah has been broken for good.

Yet the Lebanese armed movement is once again at war with Israel, striking its enemy in response to the US-Israeli war on Iran.

Its performance on the battlefield and ability to strike deep into Israeli territory shows that Hezbollah treated its 15 months of ceasefire with Israel not as an end to war, but as a narrow and urgent window to rebuild, reorganise and prepare for what it believed would inevitably come next.

When a ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel took effect on 27 November 2024, after more than a year of conflict sparked by the Gaza war, the public narrative was blunt.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the campaign had “set back” Hezbollah “decades”, destroyed most of its rockets and eliminated its top leadership.

Just in case anyone was wondering how the Gaza ceasefire is going and how well Israel is keeping to its side of the bargain (hint - its not. The Genocide continues).

    Haaretz:

In Gaza, the Rafah border crossing opened for the first time on Thursday since the war began for the evacuation of patients in need of medical treatment and the return of residents. According to figures released by the U.S.-run Civil Military Coordination Center in Kiryat Gat, which monitors the implementation of Trump's Gaza cease-fire deal, the number of aid trucks entering the Strip has fallen by 80 percent since the start of the war on February 28.

And just on that ICJ Genocide case against Israel, seems support for Israel's case is evaporating:

    Haaretz:

Germany U-turns - Won't Intervene on Israel's Behalf in ICJ Gaza Genocide Case

This marks a shift from Germany's January 2024 stance, when it backed Israel in the case.

Berlin says its decision not to intervene stems from its own ICJ defence in a case accusing it of violating international law by supporting Israel's war in Gaza

I suppose one bonus of the current war is that the IDF are very stretched and simply haven't got the time and manpower to bomb and kill the Gazans.

    Green shoots?

FIFA fined the Israeli Football Association (IFA) 150,000 Swiss francs ($190,700) for “multiple breaches” of its anti-discrimination obligations.

A report on Thursday by the disciplinary committee of world football’s governing body found the IFA “failed to take meaningful action against Beitar Jerusalem” for “persistent and well-documented racist behaviour”.

In October 2024, the Palestine Football Association reported allegations of discrimination by the IFA to FIFA, which initiated an investigation.

FIFA did not opt for the sanction requested by the Palestinian FA, which argued for a suspension of the IFA.

The modern western liberal democracy at work -

"Israel systematically torturing Palestinians in custody, says UN expert

Report by Francesca Albanese says Palestinians in custody ‘subjected to exceptionally ruthless physical and psychological abuse’ since Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza started."

This is exactly the space that zionists want to contain the west in, afraid to say the words Palestine, ethnic cleansing, genocide, Hamas, Nakba, olive tree. They want nation states to make laws against such language. The Hijab and Palestine Action are the precursors.

It's a good article and I hope a those in Gaza get some peace to celebrate. By Christ, they deserve it.

There appears to be some progress towards sustained peace in Gaza.

"Representatives of the Board of Peace and the mediating countries submitted a proposal to Hamas last week outlining a framework for the organization's disarmament, Haaretz has learned. The proposal, presented to the group with Israel's approval, includes a detailed timetable specifying the stages of relinquishing both heavy and light weapons, as well as the entry of a new Palestinian police force into areas cleared of arms.

A source familiar with the details said the framework grants Hamas more than six months to complete full disarmament, and that the organization is expected to respond by Tuesday, adding that the offer comes with security guarantees for Hamas members who agree to lay down their weapons, provided they are not involved in terrorism and commit to peace.

Under the proposal, Hamas would first dismantle its heavy weaponry, which includes missiles, rockets, launchers, and tunnels.

A gradual process of disarming the organization of light weapons – primarily Kalashnikov rifles – would then begin."

Karim Khan unanimously cleared. All allegations were without foundation. Not clear if the complainants will have to pay damages? Hopefully a decision on genocide can be made now.

Karim Khan has denied the allegations and took voluntary leave from his position in May.

Judges have cleared the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Khan, of all wrongdoing after an investigation into alleged sexual misconduct, Middle East Eye reports.

Middle East Eye says that a panel of three judges submitted a confidential report to the court’s oversight body, the Bureau of the Assembly of States Parties (ASP), on March 9.

According to two diplomatic sources who read the report and two other diplomatic sources briefed on it, the judges unanimously found that the information presented in a report by the United Nations Office of Internal Oversight Service (OIOS) “did not establish any misconduct or breach of duty”.

“The Panel is unanimously of the opinion that the factual findings by OIOS do not establish misconduct or breach of duty under the relevant framework,” the report concluded, according to the sources.

The OIOS investigation was commissioned by the head of the ASP in November 2024 after a member of Khan’s office accused the prosecutor of sexual misconduct.

In August last year, a second woman came forward and alleged that Khan had abused his power over her while she was working for the British lawyer.

The woman had described his behaviour to UK newspaper The Guardian last year as a “constant onslaught” of advances.

A sustained peace will require IDF disarmament as well and containment within the 1967 borders. I would support refugee families from the Nakba taking ownership of settler homes built outside the 1967 borders. Displaced families in Gaza should also be able to apply for possession of those settler homes.

That is great news. Once Hamas is fully disarmed, Gaza will be at peace.

Theres no Hamas in the West Bank and they are certainly not "at peace".

I recall many posts here saying that when Hamas was defeated and the hostages returned, it would all be rainbows and unicorns.

Gaza is still a pile of dust and Gazans have limited access to food, water and medical facilities.

Reparations must be paid by Israel for there to be peace in Gaza.

And of course, as we know, the Palestinians held as "prisoners" (many are children) must run the gamut of unfettered torture and rape by the IDF - without any legal consequence.

At least there is Haaretz, they tend to add some Left leaning balance to Israeli media.

They report a lot of information that the Israeli govt would prefer was kept under wraps. So much so that the govt. has sanctioned them.

But that's not surprising - we are fully aware of Israel's top spot on the leaderboard of executing journalists.

Maybe. Maybe I'm just being cynical here in my thinking that these were just people devoid of any capacity for critical thinking, blindly regurgitating the talking points they were being fed via Twitter, Facebook etc.

They say now when hamas are completely disarmed that peace will come to Palestine…..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 255 ✭✭Tacitus Kilgore DCLXVI

And then it will be when Hamas are gone from Palestine there will be "peace" but ultimately it's a case of when there are no Palestinians in the region there will be "peace" for the Israelis, because it's actual ethnic cleansing that's going on. And still you'll have these fools showing up in these threads trying to defend it.

    Genocide II

Haaretz:Israeli Defense Minister Katz said on Sunday that he and PM Netanyahu had ordered the IDF to demolish more Lebanese homes in villages along the border with Israel "in line with the model we applied in Gaza's Rafah and Beit Hanoun," both of which have largely been flattened.

Another thorough investigation of the execution of Palestinians.

    Harrerz:
One week after undercover Israeli Border Police officers fatally shot four members of the Bani Odeh family – a father, mother, and two of their children – authorities have yet to summon them for questioning.

Sources familiar with the investigation said that although the probe was opened immediately after the incident, it was decided not to question the officers involved in the shooting for now, saying that the evidence they've collected so far supports the undercover officers' reported account that they feared an imminent ramming attack.

If Hamas disarm then the Settlers will rampage in Gaza. Similarly the penny has finally dropped in Lebanon that disarming Hezbollah was part of the plan for Israel to take ownership of the area of Lebanon south of the Litani river.

Aoun said the attacks on the bridge were “an attempt to sever the geographical connection between the southern Litani region and the rest of Lebanese territory”.

He said they fell “within suspicious schemes to establish a buffer zone along the Israeli border, solidify the reality of the occupation and seek Israeli expansion within Lebanese territory”.

Disgraceful that a chairperson of Drogheda United has been removed after calling for a boycott of Israel. This is clearly the US investors work.
