Quick question. We live in one village.and our son goes to school in a different village. Would there be any issue in him going to our local GAA nursery on a Saturday and then going to nursery in the other village with his school friends on a Sunday morning?

Are the nurseries 2 separate GAA clubs?

You would have to have your child registered with the GAA club to take part. That covers them in the clubs insurance policy in the unlikely event they suffered an injury during the session.

There should be no barrier to this. Nursery registrations don’t get notified to the county board or anything like that.

Don’t ask, don’t tell, would be my advice

Tbh, it sounds like you're kicking the can down the road, if it was me I'd just pick one or the other.

Officially you're probably not allowed to do what you're talking about but in practice, I doubt anyone will stop you

I agree with kicking the can but he wants to go to gaelic with his school friends. He's only young. Long term I see him with the club where we live.

Go to the club where you live. Why complicate matters.

@wirelessdude01 - it may only be Nursery, but he'd still have to be registered as a player with both clubs in order for both him and the clubs to be properly covered by the Player Injury Fund in the unlikely event of an injury.

And you can't be a registered playing member with two clubs for the same code at the same time. Would be different if one club was football only and the other one hurling only, but since you seem to be talking about football only, then the answer to a question in one of your posts above is 'no, it's not allowed'.

You might find a way around it by either you or a registrar in both clubs creating two different profiles on Foireann for him, but again, it's just kicking the can down the road. And if something did happen and it was investigated by the insurance people (who are every bit as thorough as insurance people in other things!), could even be the case that your cover would be invalidated by him improperly being with two clubs in the first place.

Finally, contrary to what another poster said above, nursery registrations are indeed notified to the County Board. They have access through Foireann to all player registrations in the county. They don't generally pay much attention to who exactly is registered to what club nursery, but they still have access to the information if they ever go looking for it.
