Kitchen table.....herself and myself just not feeling like ourselves. We are both a bit down, it's 10 months today since her sister passed away and I feel like I've been kicked in the cohoneys for the last 5 weeks. I was so looking forward to this break but it just hasn't worked for us. The 3 chicks were off doing their own thing so at least they enjoyed themselves.

Hopefully we'll get our spirits up again tomorrow and kick on.

I'm just in terrible form . Pain still at me and can't seem to get comfortable. Tablets and bed .

A quiet St Patrick's day here

Feeling tired and drained over here, stomach is acting weird. The grey skies down here definitely didn't help. Completely ignored the parade this time around.

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Kitchen, getting dinner ready for later - roast chicken and roast potatoes with carrots and parsnip.

Watched a bit of the parade on TV and took it super easy today. Later we went for a spin in County Meath and Louth - perfect weather for the parades today.

Happy St. Patrick's Day, Wherers! ☘️☘️☘️🌈

Very quiet St Patrick’s Day here, spent the afternoon in the kitchen using up food that would go off if I didn’t make it in to something, so at least have some satisfaction from the day. Back to the coalface tomorrow, hopefully the rest of the week will go quickly!

Cafeside in the city here. Social Welfare managed to finally get a payment issue sorted that had left me without any money for over a week, so I'm delighted to no longer have to fight the pigeons for crumbs 😬

Enjoying a chai now and writing up some of my thoughts. Meeting a friend in town later, so just killing time until then…

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

How are things going with your housing ? Is the Israeli VC still trying to kick you out ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 5,057 ✭✭✭thomil

There's radio silence on that front, and I don't want to jinx anything by saying anything more about that. Having said that, I'm on the housing list and have just applied for a council flat. I'd really appreciate it if you could keep all available fingers crossed!

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Whoops, didn't mean to kill the thread with my last post 😶🙃

Just got back home here after another wonderful evening. Pizza, wine, questionable humour, what more do you need? 🤔 ☺️

At my desk, sunrise, clear morning, sunglasses on the desk at the ready. Coffee and hoping for not too much chaos, 3 shifts and off for holidays

    What a beautiful day. ☀️

Load of **** going down here. Wracked with problems and anxiety. And on top of all that the little greedy selfish evil genocidal boys of the world are playing their war games.

Thanks PM! Just don't have the time anymore, best to let others who do have the time fire away rather than half arse it!

I had a very quiet Paddy's Day myself, wrote a few chapters of my next (planned) book, got to preview the latest cover art. All fun😁

Deskside in my home office, doing work admin stuff.

Stunning sunny and warm (well, 16 C) Spring day out there so I'm hoping to get outside for a long walk in the Phoenix Park once I get this stuff done. Way too nice to be stuck indoors! 🌞🌞🌈

In other news, as of today (March 19th) I am 7 years sober from booze.

I can't believe it myself - life is immeasurably better since I turned the corner from a decade of destructive alcoholism (a litre of vodka a day at my very worst) when I was told by the doctors that if I continued, I'd be dead within a couple of years.

That's also the reason why I never "thank" any posts here or elsewhere with booze and drinking shown in them. I know that quite a few other Boardsies are struggling with the demon drink, whether they are aware of this or in deep denial.

    It's a beautiful day, Wherers! 😊

    Nice one @JupiterKid

I only go now for a few pints a few times a year. That's it. That's enough for me. It's very expensive, and cause a lot of damage to society, and still gets a free pass. Plus the money I save goes into the home heating oil piggy bank.

Grass cut and the second load of laundry on the line. Was going to break out the BBQ this evening but a buddy just rang to say he was having one instead.

I'm the same, barely touch it at all. A few odd whiskies at home and maybe 3/4 pints once every three months is about the height of it nowadays.

I spent ages today trying to get a printer to work. Luckily I wasn’t doing a last minute job as is my usual habit. Kept saying paper was jammed but I knew no bits were missing from my last print job. Turned it every possible way and eventually saw that a pencil had fallen in to the paper feeder and was blocking the paper from progressing through the machine. A few shakes and it dropped out. Normal service resumed.

Don’t. Get. Me. Started. On. Printers!!!!! 🤬🤬🤬

Mine seems to be dead set on making my life hell. Complains about not having paper despite a full stack in the paper tray. Feed in sheets manually and it works. Claims not to be connected to WiFi when I try to scan, even though printing works fine!! And good luck trying to figure out which side of the paper the thing is going to print on when it does print.

But then again, I shouldn’t be too harsh. I’ve had that thing for nearly a decade at this point, and it works with third party cartridges at least. I guess it’s just showing its age…

Anyway, back from getting some shopping done. Lovely day here, but I was too wrecked from last night to enjoy much of it. Friend and I emptied a bottle of wine together and my stomach made me pay dearly for that! Feeling good now though…

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Also, am I allowed to rant here for a bit?

First, who the h*ll thought putting breadcrumbs on cooked ham was a good idea?

And second (NSFW warning), why do the milk shelves at Dunnes Stores always look like the set of an adult movie? Seriously!

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!
