I got onto support about the email many of us got about the move to the €49 200mb plan. Here's the responses:

Thank you for sharing the email details, Garret—I'm checking the available plans for your main service line (AST-xxxxxxxx) to see if you can stay on or revert to the current Residential plan.

Your main service line is currently on the Residential plan at €40.65/month (part of your €100 total billing - note, I have one for the mobile home which was part of the free kit deal last year), and while the email indicates an upcoming update to Residential 200 Mbps at €49/month in 30 days, you can stay on your existing plan by logging into your account, going to the subscription settings, and selecting "Residential" (or canceling any pending change if visible). If you'd like step-by-step instructions or help confirming no change is pending, let me know!

Can you guarantee that i'm not bring forced onto a new plan?

Yes, Garret—your account confirms no pending plan change for your main service line (AST-xxxxxxxx), so you're not being forced onto the new €49 Residential 200 Mbps plan at this time. To double-check and lock it in, log into your Starlink account, go to "Manage" > "Subscription," and ensure "Residential" is selected with no updates scheduled.

Let's see how this goes. TBH the €35mb one for the mobile home will suit me when the contract is up but I wouldn't happy being downgraded at home. I'll probably switch to Fiber if that happens. The only reason I haven't done so yet is that I had Starlink before the NBI arrived locally and I'd have to get my driveway dug up to get the fiber to the house.

Had my first bill since the email, still on residential lite at €35 and the next month's preview is showing the same.

Wondering why they even sent the email if this is the case. Hopefully it stays like this.

Had a look in the app today when I was doing my monthly update of the dish and got a price of €28 to reactivate. I had been on the €35 plan when I cancelled last year.

@Gadge Im on that one 350mb+ 50eur pm, on a 1 year contract until Oct 2026.

I like the idea of 29eur for 100mb but if i want more 49 gets me only 200mb. It might be worth keeping 50eur for residential (if i can) after my contract ends. Because when the faster sats go up (v3-1terrabit/s) we might get even faster speeds. I know 29 for 100mb is good value but only 21 more pm, to €50 to get very fast speeds is likely a better deal until fibre.

I was on Imagine 7Mbit Broadband for 50€ a month for years (2006-2018ish) ffs. 350Mbit is madness speeds for the same cost!
