Ford Focus Replacement Battery

I have a 2023 Ford Focus 1.0 petrol. The battery was replaced under warranty last year but within weeks the stop start functionality had stopped and more recently I have been getting a low battery warning on the dash. Ford won't replace the battery again which to mind was clearly defective from the get go and the dealer has quoted €500 plus to install a new battery. So looking at what is the best option to get a new battery that will support stop start in Dublin. Halford and Battery World seem the obvious options but if anyone had any recommendations that would be great. Hoping I can get a decent quality battery installed for €200 or thereabouts. TIA.

I usually wouldn't look much further than Halfords for battery replacement and decent warranty.

Given the current battery was only replaced last year I'd expect it to last a bit longer than that. I'd have it tested first before throwing more money at another battery. The car could have a bad alternator that isn't charging the battery correctly or an electrical fault that is draining the battery prematurely

The Ford dealer confirmed it was a battery rather than a charging issue. That is why I was really annoyed with Ford's refusal to replace the battery under warranty.

I don't know if your year of Ford is the same as my 2014 Mondeo but when I replaced the battery a couple of years ago I had to reset the BMS.

I replaced the battery in my 1.6tdci focus with the Halfords one two years ago. I found it to be the best value to warranty option. So far it's working perfectly. One tip would be to turn off the start/stop if you drive a lot in traffic. All that starting and stopping of the engine can't be too good for it. I don't usually bother as I'm just driving from a to b usually without stops.

OP, Ford has set target SOC too low to some 80% if I remember correctly. Means car will charge to 80% and stop that. Short trips don’t help either. New battery is around 200 and for yourself if handy. Paying 500 to fit battery is crazy money. Ideally you want to hack it with Forsxan so it charges the battery properly. But in honesty ford BCM module is not great I had many battery related issues with focus when I had it.

I wouldn't take their confirmation as gospel that it was just the battery. Two defective batteries in succession seems suspicious. As someone else has already said, you could have a charging issue, or a parasitic drain going on.

I have followed up with Ford Customer Service and am now hopeful that they will fix the issue under warranty.
