Here’s it in full. It’s just more incoherent bollox. Please help win the war I already won. Full of contradictions.

Trump warns NATO faces ‘very bad future’ if allies fail to help US on Iran: Report

US President Donald Trump, in an interview with the Financial ‌Times (FT), has warned that NATO faces a “very bad future” if allies fail to assist in opening up the Strait of Hormuz.

“We have a thing called NATO,” Trump, who has often criticised Washington’s allies in the US-led military alliance, told the publication.

“We’ve been very sweet. We didn’t have to help them with Ukraine. Ukraine is thousands of miles away from us … But we helped them. Now we’ll see if they help us. Because I’ve long said that we’ll be there for them but they won’t be there for us. And I’m not sure that they’d be there,” he said.

When asked to specify the help he needed, the publication reported Trump said “whatever it takes”. He also expressed frustration with the UK’s stance.

“The UK might be considered the number one ally, the longest serving et cetera and when I asked for them to come, they didn’t want to come,” he told the publication. “And as soon as we basically wiped out the danger capacity from Iran, they said, ‘oh well we’ll send two ships’, and I said, ‘we need these ships before we win, not after we win’. I’ve long said that NATOis a one-way street.”

Trump also told the FT he could also delay his summit with China’s President Xi Jinping later this month as he presses the Chinese government to help unblock the key waterway.

“It’s only appropriate that people who are the beneficiaries of the Strait will help to make sure that ‌nothing bad happens there,” Trump told the FT, arguing that China and Europe rely heavily on oil from the Gulf region, unlike the US.

Hasn’t he got his “Board of peace” to help him, anyway he has said the war is won. Any country that would get involved in this deserves the **** they are going to get.

hasn’t Israel got ships and troops?

I wonder what public opinion in the countries Trump is trying to pull in feel about getting involved in Trump's and Netanyahu's war.

Is it a vote loser going down that road?

Again Trump's so unreliable and you can't believe his assertions ,his promises or his threats.

The first time he came to my attention I thought he was just the person to cross the street to avoid....

He has asked everyone to help him open the Straits

Someone was posting in the CT forum and suggesting that Iran has prepared underground militarily (not just the nuclear sites)

If they have turned Iran into Gaza (its tunnels) then America has no hope of prevailing on that foreign soil without boots on the ground and a forced regime change.

Could make Vietnam look like small change.

International analysts are talking about Israel’s plan for a forced occupation of South Lebanon.

100,000 Israeli troops are amassed on the border with Lebanon.

It’s thought US wants to resolve situation diplomatically, but this is not the case for Israel.

500,000 displaced community from Southern Lebanon and capital Beirut. Arab News say some 800,000 people have been displaced.

‘What are Israel's plans for south Lebanon?’
‘Israeli officials are increasingly considering a major ground operation into Lebanon, with the aim of controlling the country's south.’

The New Arab Staff, 14 March, 2026
    https://www.newarab.com/news/what-are-israels-plans-south-lebanon

“Israel's war on Lebanon, which began on 2 March after Hezbollah launched strikes in retaliation for the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, has been steadily expanding to encompass much of the country.

“Alongside heavy airstrikes on southern Lebanon and Beirut's southern suburb of Dahiyeh, which have killed at least 773 people, rhetoric from Israeli officials increasingly points to a large-scale destructive war.

“This includes a potential ground operation in the south of Lebanon, which may result in the establishment of an Israeli occupied "buffer zone". ....
    ....

“Israel Katz, Israel's defence minister, publicly warning on Thursday that if the Lebanese government doesn't disarm Hezbollah, "we will take the territory and do it ourselves." He added that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had "instructed the [army] to prepare for an expansion of [military] activity in Lebanon."

Last time i checked, the strait of hormuz is no where near the North Atlantic, so i cant see how dealing with it is in their mandate.

    @Sean W ^ Hezbollah, IRGC et al.

What was hilarious for me was Bibi’s recent staged visit to a cafe, and his own need to try and make a joke of it all.

Rumours had circulated about an earlier broadcast address to the nation where Bibi appeared to have 6 fingers on one hand. Some wondered if this might have been a fake video ... and he could have been injured... or worse.

Bibi uploaded this cafe footage to his X account yesterday where he exaggerated waving to prove he still has five fingers on each hand. Here’s his overly dramatic performance in the cafe ~

Oh, but didn’t Bibi look a tad unsteady on his feet in this X video clip. And have they checked his scalp for 6s ? A rumour without a leg to stand on will get around some other way. HaHaHa.

Nobody here talking about giving Israel free reign. But stop for a second and think of a world that accepts a two state solution and winds Iran back therefore stopping its funding for Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis amongst others. And a world that forced Israel back into its 1967 borders. This is about 30% more than they had in 1948.

Lebanon as a country aren’t the ones firing missiles into its neighbouring country. But what exactly are the goals of Hezbollah? They are apparently the 2nd strongest army in the region, but they don’t represent their own country. And what happens to them when the Iranian money dries up.

Thats a lot more ships than yesterday, so this goes against the idea of the strait being “traditionally mined”.

Who knows. Maybe the collapse of NATO could provide Putin with an off ramp out of Ukraine if the US is out of Europe. I'd rather that all somehow happened than Europe blindly follow America into a war with Iran when Russia is Iran's ally. Naive I know but anything is seemingly possible now.

Hopefully the IDF won't attack UNIFIL peacekeepers, including the Irish.

    BBC

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says it has begun a "limited and targeted ground operations against key Hezbollah strongholds", in a statement shared to Telegram.

The IDF said strikes were conducted "against numerous terrorist targets" in the area prior to troops' entry to southern Lebanon, and the operation was aimed at "enhancing the forward defense area" and the "dismantling of terrorist infrastructure" in the region.

The IDF said it would continue to "operate with determination" against Hezbollah.

According to Reuters oil loading has been suspended at the Fujairah port in the United Arab Emirates after being attacked for the second time in 3 days, probably in response to Kharg island getting bombed. If that pipeline gets taken out it will knock another 2 million barrels out of the market. Saudi will be sweating buckets now.

    Over to you Donny.

Nobody is rolling Israel back on anything. Get real. There wasn't even pushback on a genocide. Israel will take and do as they please as they have the politicians of the main players in their back pocket. They pay out 100s of millions in bribes and get 10s of billions back in support.

That's just it. They weren't bothered with nukes. They were complying completely with the JCPOA until the orange dickhead decided to tear it up and put sanctions on them. JCPOA was working and benefited everyone except Israel who, more than likely, put the idea to wreck it into Trump's idiot head.

While Israel was wanging on for 30 years about Iran being two weeks away from having a nuclear weapon, what Iran was really doing was stockpiling two metre long drones and other conventional weapons by the thousands.

    @Tony EH

My grandfather had been a blacksmith in the run up to the rising. He'd take some metal tubing and fashion a disposable single shot rifle that was perfect for ambushes against the RIC. Such ad hoc innovation made every hedgerow look like a trap and combined with not knowing who was an alley or who was your enemy, controlling Ireland became an impossible task.

The US trained armies in Iraq and Afghanistan in daylight who'd then become their enemy at night. There's plenty of US military personal who received medals for years spent in Afghanistan who never even set foot outside of the Bagram base! Many Irish who volunteered to fight against Germany came home to fight against the empire that made them hardened soldiers.

Plus back when Bush Jr was assembling his coalition of the willing he had to make a lot of backtracking conciliatory diplomacy to his middle east clients states for once using the word "crusade", whereas now the US secretary of WAR has a bloody big crusader cross tattoo on his chest to dispel any doubt.

I suspect Trump sees taking Kharg island as being his "mission accomplished" offramp, but I think it could be the biggest booby trap ever prepared.

Here is the US ambassador to Israel supporting the Greater Israel position. You have been shown this multiple times before and yet you try to deceive people, why is that?

Arab and Muslim nations on Saturday sharply condemned comments by the U.S. ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, who said Israel has a right to much of the Middle East.

Huckabee made the comments in an interview with conservative commentator Tucker Carlson that aired Friday. Carlson said that according to the Bible, the descendants of Abraham would receive land that today would include essentially the entire Middle East, and asked Huckabee if Israel had a right to that land.

Huckabee responded: “It would be fine if they took it all.” Huckabee added, however, that Israel was not looking to expand its territory and has a right to security in the land it legitimately holds.

His comments sparked immediate backlash from neighboring Egypt and Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the League of Arab States.

China haven't a notion of taking Taiwan anytime soon. They are sitting back and enjoying the spectacle. China now look like the sanest and most trustworthy superpower in the world. Many countries including the EU want to do more business with China after the Tariffs/Greenland/War has destroyed the trust with USA. And business is everything for the Chinese. They want to take over the globe economically. Their January and February exports were up 20% year on year. Incredible numbers. They are strategically ahead now, China won't rock the boat.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

The countries that gave billions of dollars to join the Board of Peace are asking the US what happened to the money. Middle-East countries have huge financial clout on the US and the UAE are now openly challenging the role of the US.

Trump has really embarrassed the US with this invasion. This has become even more apparent with his threat to NATO. It could be an opportune moment for Iran to try to get a motion brought to the UNSC based on its three conditions.

Iran's government has outlined what it deems necessary for a cessation of hostilities. These conditions are:

    • Recognition of Rights: Iran demands acknowledgment of its sovereignty and rights, which it claims have been violated by the current military actions.
    • War Reparations: Tehran is seeking compensation for the extensive damage inflicted by US and Israeli military operations on its infrastructure and civilian areas.
    • International Guarantees: Iran insists on formal assurances from the international community to prevent future military aggression against it.

President Pezeshkian has emphasized that these conditions are non-negotiable, framing them as essential to restoring peace and stability in the region.

For a country not bothered with nukes, they've put a lot of time and effort into infrastructure and enrichment of a sizeable quantity of Uranium, beyond the requirements of research and medical uses. Not just recently, they have been caught a number of times trying to do it secretly.

Not discussed a lot is the Plutonium route to creating a bomb, and Iran admitted they have plans to create a Plutonium separation facility. As part of the JCPOA deal, they were supposed to re-design Arak NPP and ship out spent fuels rods so this wouldn't be possible. The evidence that they did this (in 2016) was claimed to be faked, by Iran themselves (in 2019). No fuel rods were ever shipped out.

If it's been active again since 2021, with strikes last year, that's 4 years of Plutonium to account for also (rough estimates is 1 years worth of fuel for 2 bombs).

IAEA cannot verify 100% anything past 2015.

He really is a piece of ****.

Biden helped Ukraine. Trump pulled all that funding and help once he got in to Ukraine and actually made things harder for Ukraine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,691 ✭✭✭yagan

The thing is once he feels he's secured a win in the current mess he made he'll straight away unto creating another mess, probably Cuba, or sending ICE into create more outrage in Democrat strongholds.

Trying to fix the mess he made is a fools errand.

the elephant in the room is that Israel has a secret Nuke program , they have not signed up the NPT and don't allow IAEA inspectors. they have proved to be a hostile force, bombing their neighbours. Yet you are worried about Iran

Where did I say I was worried?

Also, as it would be the go to comment if it was about Iran…. "where's the proof"

Stating some facts is not picking a side, some of you really need to get a grip.
