    Amazing day!

    Yes, great result.

I don't think it's over: Arsenal are still a super nervy team and still have to play away at City and they've got a game in hand... So the nine points gap is a bit deceptive... But Arsenal are firmly in driving seat.

Arsenal could win 5 of their remaining 7 and still lose the title so no it's not over but what a great position to be in now. No Premier League game for a month now, Bournemouth at home on April 11th and then it's the City game at the Etihad. As long as Arsenal can beat Bournemouth at home then anything other than a win for City at the Etihad and I reckon it's over then.

I thought City would steamroll everyone up until the League Cup final and this mini break now. Was absolutely wrong about that, thankfully.

Lucky enough to have been at the game. What a moment when Dowman scored, the place went bonkers. COYG

Another pivotal moment in the title race last night. Felt big pre match and proven afterwards. City slipping up icing on the cake.

The upcoming international break could be a blessing in disguise now. An opportunity for an actual rest for a few of our players. Rice and Zubimendi shouldn't be called up or play any minutes in them games. Same with the likes of Saliba, Timber and Gabriel.

oh but they will get called up, and we always seem to get injuries in international games

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,847 ✭✭✭KaiserGunner

Yeah probably, just think common sense should prevail here. The likes of Rice and Zubimendi are going to the world cup regardless, so dont need to be playing pointless international friendlies. I can understand call ups for players playing qualifiers. But at this stage of the season international friendlies are so unnecessary. Rest for the likes of Rice will be beneficial for club and country.

I’m 7 hours ahead on time difference and checked the scored during the night, no need to hide behind the sofa this time

Must have watched Max’s goal 100 times! Shout out to Martinelli’s awareness to block the defenders run just before Max kicks it into the net.
Also Calafiori’s block, wow just wow.

Yeah it went absolutely crazy then.

Went from being absolutely petrified when Everton were about to take that corner to pure elation.

    Tollington was hopping afterwards too

They will play every minute of the internationals more like

You genuinely think I was the only one who didn't see a goal coming? Seriously?

Maybe I am the only one here frustrated at our attack at the moment though. If so fair enough... apologies for any offence caused.

Of course most of us are annoyed about our attack, and probably our general play altogether.
I feel like we witnessed something happen this weekend. A big moment, something similar to Rooney against us. Worthy of champions.
we needed something and a hugely talented just turned 16 year old was the man for the job. Four of the ball boys were older than Dowman!

    Get in!

I would’ve loved to have been there.

How in the name of fúck did Arsenal only take one point off that Liverpool side this season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,847 ✭✭✭KaiserGunner

Quite simply because they respect us and feared us more than they do the likes of Spurs. They still have a ridiculously talented side and despite what their fans will say, they set up with a low block against us twice. Which I've no problem with, they'll never do that at home to the likes of Spurs.

Arteta should be on the phone to the International managers telling them that some of his players are carrying knocks and should not be called up even. The players need rest and protection now as we are so close and still in 4 competitions. Alex Ferguson always seemed to get his players out of needless friendly matches.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 887 ✭✭✭eastie17

spot on, don’t think he will. To be fair I think he’d probably only do it if the players didn’t want to go. Furgeson didn’t care what they thought he would try and pull them, Roy Keane spoke about getting **** off him for going to play for Ireland

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,970 ✭✭✭emmetlego

No offence taken! It was a very much tongue in cheek comment, I thought that was obvious!

Local lads in the Bedford Tavern watching the WHU vs Citeh game saying some Irish fella paid £800 squids for a ticket WTF?

He'll always be able to say I was there when Max Dowman scored his first Arsenal goal. 😎

Meanwhile a mate of mine left the ground 5 mins to go! 🤣

    As was mine 😉

Hard not to get frustrated watching us currently and at times it seems like the constant sideways passing will get us nowhere. Always thought Merino was great to have in games like that, he just seemed to have a knack of being in the right place at the right time and has been a bigger loss than I thought he'd be. Great to see Dowman come in at this stage of the campaign & provide positive energy like that though, that has to be a great lift for the team who must have huge stress levels for every game now.

Big week ahead now, win the next 2 and the season could really open up for us.

    Oh what a dope……

I could see a few leaving but not too many

What a weekend for me that's that, we wont drop it from here, and its not that i think we will win every game, but look at City's fixtures they wont win every game from here on

Reading back the forum and i think the criticism of these lads is too much, were not playing great but bye god they are grinding it out week after week, and they are going to deliver our first title in 22 years

I think a win against Bournemouth and avoid a defeat at City and the title is ours.

Hi all. Looking for options here - will be on an Air Canada flight to Mumbai during tomorrow’s game and will need to be kept updated for the game.

I don’t think the in-flight wifi will be good enough to stream it (?), but should be enough to get radio. Anyone suggest a good radio station to follow the action?

I, personally, won't count chickens yet... Yes, the odds are in the team's favour, but there is still a lot of football to be played and the matches have to be won: there's no gimmes anymore in the league.

Every single win over the last few weekends - bar Spurs and Leeds - has been hard fought and have been knife edge - that scenario will have to play out at least 4-5 more times.

Maybe the criticism has been harsh at times - if they do it, I'll hold my hand up and admit that I was a serious doubter - but, let's not award the team the trophy before they've won it either.

You could just use the Live score app which I think does Audio commentary

I fully believe if (and when!) we win this league title we can win a lot more. Start of a dynasty.
I think we all know this and that is why we are anxious.
    It’s our time now!

I actually think if we can win the league cup on Sunday it will release a lot of pent up stress and frustration.

Thats why I think if we can get past Leverkusen & win the cup on Sunday we'll be in a whole different position psychologically as a team/fanbase/club.
