Work progressing on the old Game Stop unit on Wine St, just at the car park entrance. It is another nail/foot spa, even though there is one about 50 yards further up beside Michael Quirke's.

To be fair, there are a lot of ugly nails and sore feet in Sligo, another nail/foot place is definately needed, along with another couple of barbers, vape shops and coffee places.

How they all do business is anybody’s guess, Sligo must have the best coffee drinking, coiffured, vaping population, with great nails and soft pinkies.

they do great business if the goods they are selling are appealing to the area and its demographic … if ya know what i mean lol 😀

Foam café has opened in The Model and Jessie's café has opened on the ATU St. Angela's campus. Jessie owns Driftwood Coffee Cart which has been around a good while

Sligo is a complete pain this Christmas with the lack of parking and rip off prices. We went to Enniskillen yesterday, it was busy but plenty of parking and a lovely shopping experience compared to Sligo.

On Friday I travelled in 1pm , other Christmases around this time I have always found a parking space in the quayside SC - not this year, "Car Park Full" at the entrance this time and a car park attendant standing there. - I then drove onto the Glasshouse car Park and got parked there, just about in a tight space. - went back to car about 5pm it cost a fiver in parking so I was there from 1pm-5pm and it was handy parking close to the centre.

A few new places have opened recently in Sligo town:

Valentino's Café in the Quayside. All the photos on FB seem to be stock photos, so I've no idea what it's like.

Witchy Business has opened on John Street. It's a Vintage clothing shop.

Sligo Oriental Market is a new shop opposite the library (where the internet café used to be.)

Love ko 'to Mini Mart - Filipino Grocery Sligo has opened on Harmony Hill (where the NCBI shop used to be)

Anyone know what is going into the old Nuggies sweetshop in The Canopy? There was a guy in there yesterday installing display cabinets but no idea what, no signage yet.

The windows of the former Hobby Shop on O'Connell St are papered over, I wonder is someone/something new moving in?

This is now open as the IT hub - buying, selling, repairing phones and laptops

Armstrong's Cash Savers on High St which closed at the end of January had some painting work done and they seemed to tidying up inside too. No idea if that's as far as it goes or there might be something else going in. With the IT shop above opening in Johnston Court my hope is that it is another barbers!

Not a shop per se but yogahub opened in The Canopy last Monday, I haven't been in so not exactly sure which part but it can't be that hard to find!

"It can't be that hard to find" I said. If I didn't know it was here and wasn't looking out for it, I would have passed this by oblivious. Not a sandwich board or any other kind of signage here, very strange. The door is between PoppyLane and Shoe Rack

Walked past the old Armstrong Cashsavers on High Street and there is signage up for a new bakery going in, open Monday to Sunday 7am to 10pm, though it's not open yet, windows still covered. I'm guessing it's the same woman that had the bakery down the back of it before they closed but I don't know.

As far as I know one of them is going to be Carraig Donn. They are moving over from across the street but in turn that will leave that shop unit empty.

looks like the new bakery in high street is open today as someone from the Sligo Community group spoke highly of the cakes she brought. The sign reads “Sligo Bakery & Sweets”. Good to know we have an actual bakery open for business than the usual we see in town.

It's not same woman that had bakery there recently. She has been hinting of a move to Rockwood Parade soon. I believe it's a Turkish bakery.

Yellow bird bakes are opening in the Bourbon Bar, this is the lady who had been in Cash Savers.

They opened today, 10am-4pm, they will be there again tomorrow.

I've called to the Sligo Bakery and Sweet shop on High Street on three different days now, and I've never found it open.

It's mad when the sign on the door says they are open seven days a week.

Maybe they don't want you as a customer and pretend to be closed.
