So, as things stand, if Ireland beat Scotland 4-2, the two teams will finish level, with PD and then Tries deciding the order. Scotland lead by five points and three Tries. (Ireland must win by three or more)

In that scenario, if France then lose with a Bonus Point or none, they'll be third.

If France get two Bonuses, or draw, they would be Champions.

So, if Ireland win 4-2 and by two or one, and France lose, getting two bonuses, Ireland would be third having lost once, behind Scotland and France both of whom would have lost twice.

If Ireland are to beat Scotland, 2 things spring to mind watching the highlights on ITV of Scotland v France.

france Missing so many first up tackles and being so passive at the breakdown. Beirne, conan, VDF, Doris and Sheehan in particular are going to be vital here. Porter a big miss for this.

    Ireland by 20+.

Took Ireland -5 at 21/20 earlier and I reckon it's the easiest free money I'll ever get!

    Come on, Ireland!

Place is still half empty. 10mins before kick off.

    Bricking it now.

Ireland have demonstrated that they have the measure of the Scotland pack, but the hatters win against France has shaken me a bit. Logically, they shouldn't have another big performance in them after that game and we should be fitter considering the extra days rest. But that attacking performance was so good..

They probably don't want to suffer through all the nonsense on the loudspeaker. I really don't understand why TV channels think it's a good idea to have the pundits pitch side instead of in a studio where we can hear them.

Nervous that this might finally be the Scots big day today. Need a strong start here.

Huge start needed. Scotland are notorious bottlers here but that result against France has put the cat well and truly among the pigeons.

Flip side, wales probably should have beaten Scotland. Wales hounded Scotland at the breakdown and didnt give them a free ride by missing so many tackles

Strong start needed just to negate the Scotland start you'd think.

Hopefully we can weather the storm, or create one of our own early doors.

Has our President nailed her colours to another mast?

As we watched the first few minutes of England v Ireland, I remarked to my buddies that if we could contain England well and perhaps keep them scoreless for 15 or 20 minutes, we would win.

This Scotland team are a very different prospect of course, but I think the same approach must apply. To contain them, to quieten them, to remain disciplined on our side with and without the ball.

I'm backing Ireland to show Scotland that coming to Lansdowne Road remains one of the hardest things to do in World rugby.

    Ireland by 8 points.

Excellent tactical game management by Ireland so far. And nice kicking from Crowley. A huge mental settler for everyone and Scotland will feel a bit stressed having been busted twice in the tight so early
