This will be the issue. The cookies are files with tracking information. If that cookie gets blocked in anyway, then the referral will fail and the referral tracking information wont get passed on. Other sites like Groupon use similar methods for some of their promotions.

Sky accepts direct debit, I also have multiple cards so I just used a debit card and it worked.

My wife's number was meant to be ported yesterday between 4-6pm. I only realised yesterday they don't do it on Sundays. Will they port it over today or does she need to contact them?

Finding the roaming in the UK (London area) very patchy

Vodafone itself isn't great in UK.

From what I’ve heard, the Huawei ban in the UK left the networks in a rough state.

They’ve merged with 3 uk so that shouldn’t be an issue for much longer.

Still no sign of e-sim with Clear. Have family down there country who I'm trying to convince to switch to GoMo but they still have the Vodafone are better mentality. Crazy given what they are paying Vodafone and no sign of clear offering e-sim.

I don't understand why Irish providers are so slow to adopt new features.

I was in Prague in Czech Republic for 3 days last week, and could not get the internet to work at all.

I had everything set up before I left. I had a connecting flight in Munich in Germany, where everything worked perfectly. The day after leaving Prague, I was in Krakow in Poland, again, everything worked perfectly but nothing in Prague.

I contacted live chat, and tried everything they suggested. Changing settings, resetting settings, removing sim card and reinstalling, powering off an on. Nothing worked.

Now they did refund me a few euro to my bank account to cover the cost of an esim which I bought to cover the couple of days, but still quite frustrating I had to do it, and took a while to get it sorted.

Has anyone experienced this before and have any suggestions on what could be done to prevent it happening again?

Is there something in Clear's T&C that they don't allow hotspot usage while roaming?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,178 ✭✭✭✭TheDriver

Both me and family member could hotspot in UK last week

    Yes!

A member of my family was in Prague also. Second time there in the last few months.

And their data didn't work either both times!

They had to buy gomo world esim.

And it didn't work in Poland either!

The journey from Ireland and back was

    UK Manchester - worked

    Prague - no data

    Poland - no data

They're going to permanently switch to Gomo as soon as the €12.99 offer comes back.

And I did the same already.

I'm off to France at the end of the week, and will report on how good/bad the internet works for me while I'm there!

I actually did decide to go ahead and order a Gomo esim last night before the 12.99 offer ended. I am going back to Europe in a couple of weeks, and I will take both Clear Mobile, and Gomo with me, and check how they compare, and then decide after that which to keep. It is quite frustrating having the thought that internet might not work when trying to figure out how to get from an airport to your accommodation when on holiday. And not finding out if it works until you arrive. I was in Italy a couple months ago with Clear and it took about 2.5 hours before the internet started working but when it did start it was fine. I thought it might have just been because itw as the first time it was abroad, it just needed to adjust or something.

Interested to hear the outcome of the experiment. I switched a 48 and an Eir sim to clear during the last offer. Eir was brutal at home and roaming in Germany. And roaming in NI was dreadful with 48.
Haven’t use clear while roaming yet but we we’re paying a lot less monthly.
Sounds like all provider have roaming issues , just in different countries.
