Yes, knew I had it so dug it out. Made in the USSR with an American flag on the dial, can’t be too many watches you can say that about.

Forgive me fathers, been a while.

    Hope all are well.

Been sitting in a drawer for over a year I'd say (the watch). Quick fix for strap 🙄

    Hoping for permanent.

Love the colours of the Bulova! I have been thinking about some not so traditional colourways myself... I have a hankering for a pink watch, but not sure what exactly.

I did look at the Oris Sixty Five Cotton Candy, and the Halios Seaforth. The Halios is probably my preferred option, but not easy to find!

Any other ideas on what to consider?

For a pink watch I think the big crown pointer is the business

Seiko 7T92 OLTO (Black dial version)

    IMG_20260310_100732.jpg

Found lying in a drawer dead and all it needed was a new battery and a NATO strap. Been wearing it for the last few days.

Thats lovely.. god Seiko must have many many many watches

Yes but it seems to be discontinued. They did many different variations with 'tacky-meter' scales and baton hour markers but this black dial rather than the less legible white dial seems to be the rarer judging by eBay and YT.

Anyway I really like it which is what matters and regret paying €72 for a lesser Lorus version before realising I had this all along. This has the small seconds in the 9 o'clock position and saves the main sweep hand for the chrono function which I much prefer.

It pays to have an occasional root in your drawers. 😎

    Speaking of Seiko…..

This bad boy arrived this morning from a lad on Adverts.
Came on a black strap, but threw it on a spare 22mm blue strap I had at home. Think it lifts it a bit.

I am most certainly not avoiding work here by carefully arranging photos of my watches. The straps are from Atelier Romane. One I bought and one I got as a Christmas present. Not often you see a Seamaster 600 on leather.

always fancied those straps.. they look class - especially some of the cognac ones.

Just be careful what drawers you put the watches into.. I thought I was being clever until my wife found a stash at the weekend 🤣

They are class. They get supple very quickly so become very comfortable.

Could I ask for a recommendation for a 3 or 4 watch winder? I don't want to pay multiple hundreds which is what anything half decent not made of dodgy PVC and plastic from China costs. I have 3 high end and 2 indie automatic watches. Cheers

How much did you spend on watches? If you spent thousands, then why cheap out on something that's designed to maintain them?

I would fall into the camp that automatic watches existed for a long time before this fad of automatic winders. They didn't suddenly explode or anything back then.

Service the watch and set it when you take it out of the drawer. Hardly takes a minute.

i bought a winder.. thought it was a good idea..

haven’t used it in months. Now just pick the watch, set it and wind it

If the objective is to have something which sits on a dresser letting you stare at the shiny things then again, why cheap out? Or better yet find some vintage/antique box with a glass front.

I bought a winder, it ended up being dumped about a year later. Useless bits of junk.

IdIs say the current crop is in 12-15k territory. But they're kind of just thrown in the drawer in my bedside locker. I'd like to put a bit of order on the situation!

Im not talking €30 job off of Amazon but also not 4k+ like you see on Hodinkee etc

Stop watching Hoodwinked would be the first port of call I think.

mine are not in the 12-15 k , more like 8-9 but don’t chuck them in the drawer

I bought a lovely watch box, for about €175

They are sensitive time pieces, not a nail clippers
