He has improved this season but I hope it doesn't put to the rumours of the SA lock to bed. We do need a replacement for Joyce.

I think I'd trust Jennings anywhere from 11-15 but it would seem a pity to lose him under the high ball in the back three. Still, if needs must, him and Frode would be good to watch, that was an effective pairing at U20. I guess the other option would be to bring in John Devine at 12 and move Forde to 13?

We're lucky that this injury crisis has overlapped so much with the lighter schedule around the 6N. Need to start getting some bodies back.

Am I reading the update correctly and Blade, Murphy and Devine are all unavailable this week? That's a serious loss.

Ralston signs an extension no word on length

Murphy is available, Blade is out and Devine has returned to training and will be assessed this week to determine availability

Next season's squad beginning to take shape, with the exception of front row which is still quite up in the air.

With Walsh and Ryan looking like very good outside back prospects, I reckon we only need two of Aki, Hawkshaw, Mullins, and West.

Given the importance of tighthead locks in the modern game, I think it's a shame from an Irish perspective that a lot of our minutes in the 5 shirt will likely go to O'Connor and an NIQ, when there are young guys like Mahon Ronan and Conor O'Tighernaigh that could use the minutes.

I was listening to a Podcast recently and Bernard Jackman seemed to believe Connacht had signed at tighthead lock to replace Joyce. Anyone know who the lock is?

Why don't leinster give them the minutes?

I dont think that guys who are being denied minutes by Deeney should be starting for Connacht? Slightly tongue in cheek reply but you get my point.

I always considered Aki as an inside centre. Indeed I thought it strange that Aki replaced West vs Glasgow

West got injured. Pretty sure Forde played 13.

Was playing some of his best rugby before his last injury.

Would love SHL to stay as Connors is always an injury risk. Think it's looking unlikely though.

Jared Payne has left Scarlets no word about next steps in the announcement.

Wouldn't be opposed to seeing him join the coaching team

Interesting that we've gone for John Devine at outside centre, thought we'd opt for Gilbert with Naughton at 15 like we did against Ospreys. Big opportunity for him (and Reilly/McCormack). Not sure he has the athleticism for 13 long term but he has good fundamentals and I expect him to be strong defensively.

Odd that Duggan has been selected for 1 of the last 7 games but his contract renewal was announced during that period.

That's some injury list. If we were munster we'd be writing a play.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,996 ✭✭✭b.gud

Darragh Murray set for his 6N debut off the bench, which also features Bealham and Aki

Tickets for the Sharks game are on General Sale. There's a lot of availability in the Clan Stand. Surprised to see that.

Was interested to see Aki at 23. I suppose Farrell had to make a call as to his future and decided not to make that call. Brave one Andy. Typical Irish team bullshit. Afraid to make a call on anything. On that basis I wouldn't be unhappy to see a Scottish win.

As for the Scarlets game I find the second row a bit alien to me. I like the back row. Playing Reilly over Murphy is brave and necessary if we are to have competition. Naughton could potentially replace Ioane at some point which is interesting. Overall not a bad selection. Could work nicely

Quite Old Rio. I think we all know this character's animus towards Bundee by now.

Various outlets are today reporting Andy Farrell said that he expects Aki and Lowe to extend their contracts until the RWC

As probably the greatest player in Connacht's history, this is great to hear.

Would be wonderful for him to retire as a Connacht player.

I know his best displays for us are in the past, but he's soooo under appreciated by a group of our fans

Form comes and goes, class is permanent. Bundee has some big days left in a Connacht Shirt.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,052 ✭✭✭Zeugnis

He doesn't mean it, a little contrarian provocation is just his happy place.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,784 ✭✭✭ElisaAtWar

Contrarion provocation 😂. I love it Zeugnis. You have me down to a tee 😂

Huge game tonight. 5 points necessary. Really looking forward to it in hope we do what is required

Out of interest is anyone finding the ticket booking system shocking for the Clan Stand. Would like to see a hover button for area A to the opposite area of the stand where a hover button shows you available seats for each an every area. Then you should be able to zoom into that area where red seats are those already booked and green seats are those available with the zoom focusing on green available seats. Just a thought

Gilbert off injured. Not what we need given the big injury list we already have. Looked like his ribs.
