Well that was not bad I suppose. Certainly a much better episode than episode 9 just a bit of filler in the middle of it where Caleb and Triana have the weird joining or whatever it is.

I still hate all the 32 century starfleet ships though.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

It was good as far as shooting at ships and blowing stuff up

    Then you have the story….

Was thinking while watching this - if it was a cartoon you would let them away with it as its for kids, this show assumes people have a 30 second attention span

    End credits - puke

Yeah the scene of all the ships - looked like a scrap yard lol

Yeah, enjoyed that. Not exceptionally amazing but a decent final to an overall decent season.

The resolution felt a little quick and easy in the end, Caleb’s speech wasn’t that good. But this series has always been more about the characters and I think they did well enough there.

Was expecting the Discovery to show up at the end. Better that it didn’t though.

    Looking forward to season two.

Yeah, altogether the series was better than expected.

That scene with all the ships reminded me of Star Wars when we would see them all jump.

Also can anyone explain to me what the episode title Rubincon means??? Did they mean rubicon but didnt bother spell checking?

Did you not watch the episode? Like were you on your phone second-screening it? It's a pivotal part of the whole thing!

Anyway, a solid end to a great season. A couple of stumbles in certain episodes but overall just really well constructed.

The finale hit a lot of the kinds of emotional beats that Discovery often tried to get to, but this show really did the leg work and let character details bubble in the right way.

And how nice to have a season finale be a courtroom episode (even if it was a kangaroo court) rather than a giant gloppy space battle (like Discovery would have done).

Also surprised by how much I loved Jet Reno in this episode, she's come a long way from the Disco days.

Easily the best season of nu-Trek imo

It's apparently in the background when the cadets are all together at the viewscreen over Betazed

ThThis episode wasn't really for me because I have universe ending drama fatigue and Giamatti's characters is one of the most grating in Star Trek history. Every time he talked felt like it was 20 minutes long and his screaming and shouting was very annoying. I wish they would finally learn how stupid these insta warp fleets are too.

I've really enjoyed the characters themselves though and they were worth watching again as usual (except Sam) and even the Klingon guy is growing into the role.

A real disappointment with the series though was the totally ignored the fact that the ship is the school except for a few stupid over the top phaser battles. A few field missions would have been nice.

The fact I didn't hate the show and enjoyed it all the way to the end is a huge plus. Probably only PIC 1 and SNW 1,2 didn't have me bored or totally fuked off by the end of a live action season.

I reckon we'll have the cadets on the bridge much more in S2 now they've proven themselves a bit. But at the same time, I've liked the focus on diplomacy, conversations, and brain puzzles in this season compared to the action orientation of the previous Kurtzman Trek shows.

I've been following along (mostly as YouTube keeps recommending review videos) and even watched one or two more episodes in full myself and it certainly did live up to expectations.

Utter nonsense! More crying and teen drama, more hugz and feelz, more 21st century slang and behaviours, ugly UGLY sets and CGI ships (proving that millions of dollars still won't get you decent design), US identity/gender politics shoved in at every possible opportunity, awful and generally unlikeable characters (especially Sam - WTF was that screeching on the bridge near the end?), plot holes and inconsistency you could drive a truck through - the list of problems just goes on!

Even if you take the Star Trek brand away, it's still an incoherent mess of a show as it's descended into something more in common with Disney Star Wars than Star Trek.

A waste of tens of millions of dollars and 10 hours - just so Alex Kurtzman and his production crew can have a platform to spout their ideology and issues with current US politics at the audience (something I've seen him essentially say himself in videos referenced in the reviews).

Is it as bad as Discovery? No, probably not but that's not saying it's in anyway good either! It's not... At All!

As has been said elsewhere, the best thing Paramount could do now is just quietly delete season 2 entirely (Batgirl style) or dump it onto the platform in one go with no fanfare.

But no, it seems Secret Hideout aren't done yet if the rumours of a Year One (yet another) prequel are to be believed! Another bad bad idea that will attempt to fully rewrite TOS using the same awful interpretation of the characters that we've seen on SNW.

It's time to give the franchise a rest (not likely I know!). Everything since 2009 - with the exception of LD, Prodigy and Picard S3 - has been increasingly removed from the actual series that established Star Trek in pop culture history. How many people will be fondly talking about or rewatching Discovery, or Into Darkness, or SNW or this latest mess for the next 30 years??

Not many I'd bet! No new Trek is still better than this Trek!

Was okay. But the whole Omega minefield was bit silly. Overall not a bad season. Highs and lows to be expected with NuTrek.

Surprised they didn't have a Discovery cameo with the fleet arrival.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue

It didn't even have any. It just had some people who were gay.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,079 ✭✭✭✭MJohnston

Yeah well this is where online discourse has fallen to - we can't just have gay characters without someone whining about identity politics.

I'm so fed up of listening to these little babies (that's unfair to babies, at least they have the opportunity to grow into something substantial)

Watched with the kids on Thursday. A good solid ending to the season. Overall we enjoyed it. A far cry from the puppets with strings on the original ST all those decades ago.

Looking forward to S2 next year and strange new worlds in the summer.

I'd say that if they hadn't already completed Season 2 it would have ended with this episode..

Though a lot of YT Critics had been saying this show would be cancelled long before it was announced..

Delighted this garbage was cancelled and by the sounds of it Kurtzman was sacked.

Exactly what he deserves for being an incompetent insecure twat.
