Looks like he got in serious trouble in a couple of bunkers.

I think he's playing well though and will have better results soon.

Bit of a mad day in Puerto Rico for Seamus. +5 after 10 but got back to +3 in the end. Lying 83rd though 🙄

Got in to the field in the end...needs to take advantage now, cant be missing the cut for big events like this

Great to have him in all the same. Patton Kizzire is the other guy to make it.

Kizzire, a St. Simons Island, Ga., resident and former Auburn player, will make his ninth start in The Players. His best finish was a tie for 22nd in 2022. Power, from Ireland, will make his sixth start. His best finish was a tie for 33rd in 2022. Both players missed the cut last year.

That’s great news. Let’s hope he takes full advantage of the opportunity. 🤞

In order to make room for Brookes Koepka on his return from LIV & without anyone missing out at tournaments that they would have gotten into the PGA tour is increasing field sizes by 3 (Brookes + 2 others) in order to keep groups of 3 consistent…

I can't figure out how Seamus got into The Players. If you click on 'Field' and look down the column 'How they Qualified', it says against his name: 'Below Top 10 on Current Year FedExCup Points'. What exactly does that mean?

Seamus is currently 88th in the FedEx rankings but there are three lads above him in the 2026 table who are stuck in the list of alternates… David Ford (72), John Parry (69) and Billy Horschel (63). They all have the same tag against their names: 'Below Top 10 on Current Year FedExCup Points'.

Billy Horschel finished just above Seamus in the FedEx Fall series at the end of the 2025 season and he is higher than Seamus in the current season's FedEx rankings.

Could anyone suggest why is he currently the seventh alternate while Seamus is in?

The priority list for the event would have been drawn up on Friday. The names you mentioned were all behind Seamus Power in the Fedex Cup at that stage but moved past him on Sunday.

Cheers, that makes sense. Those three lads I mentioned did indeed have decent finishes last week. David Ford is now in the field so Parry is now the first alternate.

He just can’t seem to finish a round at times. Costly end to his round bogey, par double. 5 to get down from 300 yards on fairway

That could be costly. Level for first round would have been fine.

6 to get down from 300 yards in the fairway. Brutal stuff

    Fat thumbs for the number.

A great chance to get points against players he’d be challenging for and looks to have blown it

Bogies 9th today. Again on fairway with tee shot. Lays out into bunker. Shocking stuff

God he must hate that 9th hole. In the fairway after the drive and goes in 2 bunkers to make bogey. Needs -1 at worst today I think.

Bar finding water on last 2 holes he should be ok for the weekend

They've shown the odd shot of him throughout the day, likely see rest of the round now

    to 13ft thank god

18th is riskier than 17th today. Henley just dropped 2 shots after too much draw into the water. Great hole.

He's on in two, 60ft away but even a 3 putt will get him the weekend

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,086 ✭✭✭hawkwing

birdie on 16 was vital as bogied the last as per usual

He's made the cut just. Around for the weekend which is great for him.

out first on his own. Hopefully means he can get into whatever pace he likes and shoots a low one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,968 ✭✭✭Trampas
