I watched the game live on TV as well and from the angle shown on the replays, it would appear Scales foot was offside however you cannot be certain about it. Now the on-field decision was a goal therefore it has to be a factual overturn to rule it out as offside. the angles do not support that factual overturn therefore the goal should have stood.

Did anyone catch Devaney's performance for St Mirren?

Just curious as he's eligible for Ireland and we're desperate for a midfielder.

It's a sign of how much this place has lost traffic when there is one update in a month on this thread in what is as interesting a Scottish football season in decades.

Pity, but that's the way of the world.

And the most intriguing SPL in many a year too.

It's definitely lining up to be the most interesting run in for a long long time but as a Celtic fan, I'm feeling a sense of apathy towards my team.

The club is a rudderless mess and needs fresh ideas and owners at the board level. There's barely a handful of players I'd want to see kept on next year.

I'm torn between wanting to see us win the league which will just see the current situation go on longer and finishing 3rd which I think in the long term might be the best for the club.

It’s very worrying that there seems to be no indication that Desmond will leave and that the club will be taken over by a board of directors that will even make an effort to make the most of the club’s resources and make more of our potential.

Below is a YouTube video from a Business of Sport episode from 4 weeks ago dealing with Celtic and how badly the club is being run.

The only financial moves I’ve heard of has been from a group called Celtic Supporters Limited who want to accumulate around 28% of the club’s shares which they say will take around 5 years. Other than that we have Wille Haughey who says he wants to put 10 million quid into awarding shares to season ticket holders. The only thing I can see coming from that is some kind of effort to pacify the supporters who will then be more less likely than ever to kick up a fuss and complain about Desmond and his minions horrendous performance in running the club.

Our biggest problem is Desmond and his arrogance, he doesn’t know how to run a modern European football club and he won’t get out or even step aside and let others have a go.

Sad and frustrating. I think what should happen is an all out boycott of Season Tickets renewal but supporters who have had seats for decades run the risk of losing their seats to those on waiting lists if they do that. Strange times that the main obstacle to progress for the club is the minority largest shareholder.

As a Celtic supporter I was in full agreement with Brendan Rodgers when he went public on his frustrations last summer that his ambition for the club was not matched by Desmond and those controlling the club. Rodgers said he wanted the club to be the best it could be. That’s all that I want and what nearly all Celtic supporters want.

I don’t give a damn that it’s an “exciting” domestic league title race. Celtic is big club with fantastic resources that should be in the Champions League every season and on good seasons in the knockout stages. The reason why there is a domestic title race in Scotland this season is because of how poorly run Celtic is. The other Scottish clubs will over the coming seasons get the chance to become as big or bigger than Celtic unless Desmond and his minions are removed.

Still would like to win the league as MON coming out of retirement has tried his best but Celtic’s problems begin and end with the current custodians at the club.

Well I can say this for sure. I will not spend one more euro on Celtic until dictator Desmond and his board cronies are gone. They are the ones responsible for the shambles that is Celtic on and off the field. It's not just about this season either the club has been under performing and mismanaged dreadfully for years. Its just all come to a head and hit the tipping point so to speak since last summer. Until Celtic gets ownership and a board that actually has belief and ambition for Celtic to actually maximize our potential on and off the field the club is going nowhere.

Not a Celtic fan per say but from a distance that Yank they got in looks to have killed them, 8 losses in the league to Rangers 2 and considering the mess they were in start of the season with that fool who used manage Southampton, if was to put money on seems Hearts have held a steady ship all season ..probably good for the league if they pull it off

Interesting stat from Sutton earlier. This time last season at the split Celtic had scored 97 goals, this season it's 59.

All down to the boards downsizing of the squad.

Nancy was a disaster but the damage was done with the sales of Kyogo, O'Reilly, Giakomatis, Kuhn, Idah etc. with garage brought in to replace them.

Rodgers had the team going toe to toe with Bayern in the CL knockout stage but the board continued to rip the team apart.

This Celtic team is the worst I can remember for at least 30 years. Absolutely spineless

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,224 ✭✭✭✭TheCitizen

Amazing scored 4 goals in extra time to win 6-2. Maybe that will kick start the team and give them a bit of confidence for the rest of the season.

Maeda hitting form at the right time could be pivotal. He played brilliantly last season to get a move but our board made a mess of that for him. He’s now playing for a move again which is fair enough because it’s mutually beneficial. He was back to his very best yesterday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,681 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

He was man of the match, scored two and an assist for Tierneys goal. His press is immense.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,256 ✭✭✭eire4

He was absolutely back to his best yesterday. His pressing was just relentless. Maeda on this form if he can maintain it for the next month gives us a real shot. Having Engels back as well made a difference and hopefully now with a full 90 minutes under his belt we will see him firing on all cylinders for the final month also. Johnston coming on to finish the game off the bench was a real boost as well. Hopefully he is ready for a start and maybe 60 odd minutes next week.

the bookies have us as favourites for a reason. We’re the team with players who know how to get it done. It’s been a strange season with all the infighting and weirdness from Desmond and the board but these 3 players you mention if they’re back in form we’re worthy favourites.

Maeda was back to when he was at his best last season yesterday. If he’s in that form he’s levels above anything else in the league.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,337 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

Maeda looks like he might be playing for a move again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,153 ✭✭✭RoryMac

Maeda should've been moved on last season at the height of his potential value

How was the Hibs goal allowed?!? Ball hit his arm twice before he finished

That was out and out cheating from VAR, the ball clearly rolls down his arm

Can't be giving Celtic three VAR decision

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,681 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

Two handed push on Nygren in the box… nothing to see here from the officials

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,667 ✭✭✭DenMan

    Huge three points today!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,681 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

We won 2-1 but that was an utterly brutal last 20 minutes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,619 ✭✭✭AyeGer

The standard of Scottish refereeing is off the charts bad, or worse corrupt. I can’t get my head around how that Hibs goal was allowed. Clearly a hand ball. Thankfully Celtic got the win in the end.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,153 ✭✭✭RoryMac

Another game down and 3 to go.

Weird performance, totally dominated possession for 70 mins but didn't create much. Iheanacho adds a bit of quality up front in terms of finishing but his overall play is pretty poor. Hopefully Maeda is ok, looked a nasty bruise on his foot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,681 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

For those that did not see the Hibs handball for their goal and the two handed push on Nygren. Celtic should be calling these out as they are off the scale in terms of cheating

I am perplexed why Hatate has not even been used as a sub recently, is he injured?

SPL will suffer long term if Celtic win the trophy this year, hearts have to win it to save Scottish football
