Theyre better off finding a nice warm pub on Friday. The reeks in bad weather aren't a good idea.

Oil running out here too n none of them available to deliver for at least a week. Was going to ask for 300 euro worth. Prob only get a litre.

Dont need that windchill. My son was frozen last night so we put on heat for an hour. Will have to buy hot water bottles for weekend.

Snow in West n Northwest but itl mostly avoid Sligo town. As always.

Jesus it is gusty out there now in D22 actually taken by surprise at how quick it seems to have hit

80km/h gusts already here on the far SE coast.

It's going to be a long couple of days with gusts getting stronger and no ease in sight until late Friday according to the latest charts.

Getting very strong gusts in Galway now

If it does snow tomorrow night i will be thinking of M.T. Whether you want snow or not, we can all agree that we greatly miss the input he would give us about this period of weather.

Wild morning here on the Kerry coast, 5.6mm, rain sounding all the louder from the driving wind, 10.4C and weather station giving a real feel temp of 5.6C. Thankfully slept last night after the rough night before.

Models all look about the same, some showing strong winds possible in the early hours of Fri for a time. Will see how much snow falls. Probably settling for a time on higher ground more so W, NW, N and fairly short lived lower down, would imagine there could be some heavy localised hail showers giving temporary difficult conditions.

Surprised there isn't far more posts in here considering how bad last night was.

Touching sustained 90km/h gusts in parts of the coastal W and 80km/h equivalents in the coastal E.

It’s crazy how little the government care about flood warnings / flood protections. People who live on flood plains are left to fend for themselves, gutless government.

A squall line dropped 6mm of rain in half an hour, 830 to 9

Temp dropped over 3 degrees also

    Currently temp 8.3C Rain 8.6mm

Rain really coming down here in Dublin 8, the wind making it seem worse against the windows ….. really shocking morning out there now!! Just herd on the radio ferry's canceled and delays at the airports, have RTE dropped the ball again?

Sitting on runway at Dublin airport now for over 30 mins waiting for take off. I question whether I should have bothered

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,101 ✭✭✭mumo3

That's shocking, talking about it now on RTE Radio, 8 go arounds, 3 diverts and the wind only to get stronger for the next 2/3 hours…. not to settle until after 1pm!! sorry to add to your anxiety

Fierce a little while ago on the Naas Bypass, traffic almost to an all out stop on the carriageway

For another thread but if we were to build a new town would our engineers recommend using flood plains?

Yes, I know engineers were overruled by brown envelops in the past, but absenting local politics from a purely engineering point of view a lot of current towns would be condemned.

That squall line passed through here (SW Laois) around 8.45 or so, wow there some downpour of driving rain from it. Looks like another round of really heavy rain currently over parts of Munster tracking north east.

Several flights diverted incoming to Cork. They're off to Shannon.

Wonder if Keir Starmers flight will get in later!
