Even better. I’m swamped next week in work. So lucky to be getting the Monday off. But I’ll take it.

Same, 4 days off for the loss of one days leave was too good to pass up.

Update is that we just got the all clear from another warning. The warnings really scare this little ones, think of an iPhone alarm full blast but a klaxon sound. The all clear alarm at 9pm, why the use the same alarm is beyond me, really scared our 7 yr old. She is sleeping in a camp bed in our room and she jumped out of bed and into the fetal position on the ground. I can only imagine what it is like for the poor Iranian kids. We could see the building in marina which was hit by debris from our garden.

In short its up and down, one minute we think of flying to any airport in Europe, knowing that flights are full for days (other governments buying seats) then the airport gets hit so are you safe going there when our area isn't hit. The next minute you hear the Iranians will not he hitting GCC countries unless they let the US launch from there, an hour later the US launch an attack from Abu Dhabi as they don't care if Iran attack the UAE. This country cant seem to stop the US from launching from here, the result of them (US) continuing is destabilising the whole region.

I have seen it on the new but nothing circulated from the Embassy, which has been closed all week and no one answering when I call. So its a good news article but as yet no reality behind it.

oh jeez Jude that sounds so stressful. Hopefully a certain President gets bored and moves on to his next big mad idea and all this calms down soon.

@Jude13 that sounds horrendous...especially on the little ones. Hard to know what to do I'm sure.

I’m really sorry to read that Jude, these things are tough enough for adults but it must be terrifying for kids. It’s hard to think of anything appropriate to say except that I hope ye all stay safe, I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you all.

Cheers all, a sane leader across the pond it top of my Christmas list. We were meant to be going on holidays next Monday for mid term but its all up in the air, we got 'cheap' deals which means we will loose accommodation costs at the very least. A lot can change in a week.

The parents are all trying to keep things normal, Irish dancing is going ahead, basically anything in the immediate locality, cycling distance is still going ahead along with play dates. Many firms here, international ones, are business as usual so we seem to have half the streets kids playing in our back garden to give parents who are busy with work a break.

Up in the Big Schmoke today - it's actually a beautiful day here and it didn't take me three hours to get here like it normally does 🤩

It is bonkers to think by the end of this month we will be 25% of the way through the year. Time is moving fast at the moment.

I had my surgery on Monday and as per consultants words it was the “best case scenario”. Hoping to be discharged tomorrow and I start daily physio immediately for the next six weeks. I will have to use a passive movement machine for a fair few hours each day but I’m fairly delighted with life 🥰.

Glad it was a success! Best wishes for a smooth recovery!

Yeah, how in the name of god is in Patrick’s Day next week and Easter two weeks after. I love these holidays but Jesus Christ. I’m just over Christmas.

Thanks so much everyone, honestly I only dared to dream of this outcome and I’m so thankful. There’s a lot of work still to be done but that’s ok, I’m ready for it. Dancing with the stars it is🤣🤣🤣🤣.

@Cork Lass delighted to hear that it went well. The scary part is done.

25% through the year as @Loughc says, and the last 25% is the Christmas period so really only 50% left to get ready!!!

When I see that snip it makes me wonder whatever happened to TRS30, he came in and was a massive poster for a couple of years & then just disappeared.

Saw a woman out and about rocking a Christmas jumper yesterday and immediately thought of this place! It was one with a penguin skiing on it ;-)

Are we gonna get some snow tonight? I could see snow on the wicklow mountains last week. I was thinking of watching The Snowman and The Snowman and the Snowdog as a treat this weekend! I've even got some Christmas pudding left still.

Dunno about snow but the wind & rain here are shocking!!

Add me to the list. TRS crosses my mind a fair bit, especially when I see his name on the main forum page. Like CL said, I hope everything is okay. 🫤

Yes TRS crosses my mind a good bit too. I tried messaging him a good few times to no avail.

He was last online May 23. So I don’t think he just forgot about us I sadly do worry it’s something more tragic than that. He didn’t say he was taking a break from boards or anything like that so his immediate disappearance just seems odd.
