I get a morphine tablet which is poor compared to an injection I had years ago . I was tripping after the injection . No such luck with the tablet 🤡

doc came in to see me . The only thing keeping me in is air trapped in my lung ( I thought the point of lungs is to fill them full of air ) so hopefully the surgeon in Belfast is happy with me soon then freedom , AKA William Wallace . Though I have to say I would not have been able to look after myself until now . Its funny how lying in bed all day makes me tired . If anything I want out to get an Indian take away because today's dinner tasted somewhat normal ( a scary thought )

Oh to be home with a cup of strong Doouwe Egberts coffee instead of pish water .

Good to hear you're getting there. I'm in town for stoopid little jobs, then take it easy before another six bloody shifts.. Urgh..

Funny one today, had just gotten back from shopping when 2 cars and 7 people showed up on my driveway, i thought that they were looking to rent the place beneath me, but turned out that this was an American family (parents 3 kids) a tour guide and a corporate guy from my employer. The mother had lived in my assigned apartment from 1981-1988 and wanted to see it again. They are fleeing from Dubai so had driven here. BLUE got so many belly scratches that he was super happy.

Corporate guy gave us all gifts :):)

What kind of gifts Smurf? Did you have to give the visitors tea/coffee ect.? I'm wondering if I'd peep out the window but not answer the door in that situation …like I'd want the gifts but not the visitors .

Lads my feet are like ice blocks despite being under the duvet with a hot water bottle. Today was stressful. The weather forecast is bad. I'm trying to be positive about the weekend and being off next Tuesday but I'm still battling the urge to just hibernate. And I can't stress how much I'm genuinely missing MT and his forecasts, end of an era.

I've been a bit lost every morning since, I always had a habit of checking the forecast be my day starting or ending, I'm a very routine person in ways - he's missed

@Duvet Day would you believe snow globes, musical ones at that. But for me, laptop bag and inside it, travel mug, notebook, pen, baggage tag, fridge magnet, passport cover, so a nice catch :)

Nope to the tea coffee as they had a tour guide who was bringing them around the city and its Ramadan, i suggested that they went snorkeling while they were here with the teenage kids, especially as the weather is beautiful.

He had zero interest in walking this morning, apparently if the OH stays in bed and doesn't walk, then he doesn't need to walk. Now both of them are asleep.

I was having a lovely , and badly needed sleep , when I was woken by nurses hooking me up to a drip . I know they have to do it but it's a ridiculous time to be waking me up. Àlso hooked up to a oxygen pipe up my nose which is slightly annoying .

I was really hoping today I'd be let out but doc was in to tell me I'll be getting more scans tomorrow .

I really shouldn't be moaning about getting looked after .

You're not moaning CJ, no one wants to be in hospital, although if you look at it this way, they're making sure you'll be in the best possible health for whenever you do get released.

Deskside here in my home office prepping for classes this afternoon in the college and replying to dissertation student emails.

Beautiful sunny Spring day outside with the birds in full song - a real tonic for the soul after a long winter! 😊🌿🌱🌸🏵🌈

@cj maxx - hang in there…you're in the best place for your needed care at the minute. Sending healing vibes your way. 🫂

It’s better to be in hospital and want to get out than the other way around, @cj maxx. I was going up the proverbial walls on day four of my last stay, so I feel your pain. You’re not moaning and even if you were, we’re here to listen, so be easy on yourself and feel free to express yourself to your heart’s content, buddy.

    Speaking of which…

In the city for the first time in a week and a half. Finally got myself a new Nespresso machine, I was just getting sick of all the instant coffee 🙃 Got a pretty good deal too, between credit on my account, status discount, and the freebies they threw in 😁 In a café now, then it’s off to grab some pictures for a new blog post before I head home.

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Just had lunch, large milky coffee to keep me upright for the rest of the day... It has it's work cut out for it

Coffee bar is open again! 😋

My legs are not happy with me though 😖 Going from doing nothing for a week and a half to 100% is not a smart move!!! Shopping is done though, all stocked up for tomorrow’s bad weather 🌧️💨

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Ooh you snagged a nespresso - well done!.

How much was that machine? Have you ever looked at buying Nespresso capsules from Spain and getting them shipped to Cork? They are ridiculously cheap there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 5,054 ✭✭✭thomil

120€ list price for the whole lot, with Nespresso members discount and credit on my account, I was able to get the price down to 40€…

Not keen on getting stuff shipped to me, if I’m honest. One of the reasons I went for a Vertuo machine was that it gave me a reason to get out of the house and head into Cork on a regular basis.

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

I see you were in one of my favourite coffee shops thomil..the free 'baby ' profiterole is a great bonus..just enough to hit the sugar craving and the coffee is lovely.

    Home , bate…this week isn't playing ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 5,054 ✭✭✭thomil

Just love that place in the summer months. Feels almost continental to just sit outside with a coffee and watch the world go by…

Oh, and if the week ain't playin' ball, you have my permission to kick the week in those!

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

I love sitting outside in good weather, have to watch the pigeons though, they're so tame and regularly rob peoples food lol. Some good buskers across the road also occasionally.

Lads I'm beginning to think my feet aren't attached to my body anymore . I'm grand and warm but they're like ice again tonight. It's getting annoying now..I never Google symptoms because I'd rather not know if I have something serious but I'm starting to worry ..they really don't feel like mine anymore 😕

I have an electrically heated furry foot warmer - I'm a miserable SOB if my feet are cold

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 5,054 ✭✭✭thomil

I'd schedule an appointment with your GP. Just have a chat about the situation. It's probably something simple, but if it worries you, it's worth spending the money to get an appointment.

For what it's worth, I regularly have that problem when I go to bed, even if my feet are fine during the day. If it only happens in the evenings, it might simply be a side effect of your body getting ready for sleep.

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

(Failing) To resist the urge to say you need a certain poster make your feet as warm as his sausage rolls..…....🙊🤣

Statins don't taste nice when they get stuck in your throat and start dissolving 🤢 (yes Duvet,I know you're saying it serves me right 🤣)

I wouldn't dream of saying that about you Mam.

    Are you sure it's a statin? 😚

Just back from morning 7km walk, OH was with us so BLUE had zero issues with doing the whole route.

Day 7 of doing no work, so perfect for completing my online training.
