Thinking about it, it really would be some achievement if Arsenal can get over the line this season with this attack. If the entire front 3 + subs was up for sale I think Saka would be the only one any rival teams would be interested in and he's not having a great season compared to previous ones.

You would swear we had no competitions left and were facing relegation going by the convo here, it’s all doom and gloom

The team played at a crap venue that was water logged a few days ago and we got the win, cheer up peeps

Agreed. If that game was at the Emirates I have no doubt it would of been an entirely one sided affair.

I dont take much away I terms of form from the match today. As others said, take the win and move on.

Playing at home certainly gave Mansfield a better chance, but I bet those lads would have relished playing in a big stadium.

Neither White nor Calafiori can stay fit for two games at a time. Wouldn't be surprised to see both shipped out in the summer. Jesus will be gone too I'd have thought. Also wouldn't be shocked to see Norgaard leave, Arteta doesn't seem to fancy him at all.

On the game today, win was all that mattered. Shame to see two injuries but they're only "niggles" according to Arteta. Hopefully that's an actual niggle and not the type that kept Gyokeres out for 6 weeks earlier in the season

Edu looks to be leaving Forest after only 8 months at the club. I expect Berta to have a very busy summer. I've a feeling he'll tun down Jesus' request for a new contact and he'll be gone in the summer, he was the worst performing player against Mansfield.

Port Vale at home sure would be a nice quarter final draw.

    Great stuff.

Whilst Gabby is clearly our best attacking defender, its mainly from set pieces. Hincapié can be creative with his footwork and can unload a shot in front of goal when the opportunity presents which I think adds an extra dimension to our setup.

Southampton away in the FA cup....happy days!!

And Man City at home to Liverpool....icing on the cake.

Southampton away. Not quite Port Vale at home (damn you Chelsea) but you gotta be happy with that for an FA Cup quarter final draw.

If they win that they'll be into the semis without having played a Premier League side, although had to play 3 of the 4 games away from home.

Can take nothing for granted as we are typically rather cr*p anytime we play at St. Mary’s but on the face of it, have to say that’s a good draw.

If we get through and get West Ham/Leeds in the semi, that would be good as they may still not be safe.

Odegaard and White the only ones to miss training, according to Sky Sports news anyway.

Not sure if they left out any long term injured, I wasn't keeping track.

We've only played there once since Oct 2022, which was our 2-1 win last May. That win was probably the one that hardened this squads away game temperament by breaking our terrible form there. Before that our side was inexperienced and lacking depth.

Hard not to feel some empathy for the Spurs goalie in fairness. Fault lies with Tudor but that'll haunt him for the rest of his career.

In London for the weekend, is StubHub the most reliable place to get tickets

Chances with the ticket exchange are probably slim and don't fancy going through Reddit

The deal was always going to be permanent in the summer. Even if Arsenal refused the option Bayer had an option to enforce it on their side. It was only a loan as we couldn't afford the outlay all in one window.

That would've been a great goal

It's been a good start. Really need to be capitalising on it.

Brian Kerr is a tough listen. Should get his eyes checked.

I really wish Saka would sometimes take the blinkers off and not always try to get the shoot away when it's not really on and squaring it is the better option.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,377 ✭✭✭FixitFelix

I think Saka should try to cut in on his left

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,575 ✭✭✭DenMan

This is a poor Leverkusen team…and we're just as bad as them tonight! Huge second half improvement needed now. I'm sure we'll see the intensity rise up sharply.

Saka is not playing very well of late. Very predictable on the right wing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 511 ✭✭✭CiaranW

Saka is our top player and absolutely earned the big contract but he hasn’t really impressed this season. I’m hoping this is just a build up form bad injuries last year for an explosion next year.

Let’s win this second half. Come on Arsenal.

It's very frustrating to watch sometimes.

You see it happen in every game - instances where he should just pass and instead takes a touch, another touch and then tries a shot that's already being closed down before it even leaves his boot.
