What was the thinking behind the choice in caretaker?

Not a whole pile by the looks of it. :(, this lads is not saving Spurs from relegation.

His whole schtick as a manager is coming in and steadying the ship. It made some sense, even if it looks like it was the wrong choice. Seems like we do need a man manager type manager at the moment.

    Bring back Ange!

Even if the board sacked Tudor (probably before international break)....who could they get in for the last few games??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,161 ✭✭✭Deise Vu

Somebody the players don’t actively hate would be a start. Somebody who has watched the team play before and knows what position players play in would also help. Not playing a player just because he played well for a different team in a different league at a different time would be my final suggestion.

Tudor had to go, the only decision is whether the board have already discounted Liverpool and want to give the new guy a better chance of a winning start. My vote would have been to leave him behind in Madrid.

Sure the internet would laugh but I think we are well beyond caring about that at this stage.

As ridiculous as this sounds we proberly have nothing to lose with another roll of the dice, bad and all as we are there is still a chance to avoid the drop ,forget about the CL as a hiding was always on the cards if we got to the latter stages so just let that one off .The way things are going the whole thing is like a sitcom on the telly ,truly embarrassing for the club though .

Last CL game for at least a decade next Weds. Honestly don't see us winning any of our next three games overall.

If Tudor is going to go, now is the time, the next five after that are all potentially winnable with the right setup and manager.

But they will keep him on until we loose to Forest and we are going down as it will be too late, probably is already, to rescue it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,270 ✭✭✭Mr. Guappa

It's negligence that he's still in charge right now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,725 ✭✭✭✭Snake Plisken

The two clowns who hired him, Lange and Venkatesham won't sack him as it makes them look totally incompetent and they both should go out the door with Tudor.

Not sure that these players would play better under Dyche as I get the impression that player power forced him out of Forest, but worth a shot I suppose we have nothing to lose at this stage.

Tudor is finished, a crazy appointment in the first place, Spurs should be looking to get the new guy in, leave Tudor there until next Wednesday to take the flack for the next two games and give the new guy a fresh start for the Forrest game.

Who do Spurs fans think should come in until the end of the season, Dyche might be worth be worth a roll of the dice, would know the Forrest players weaknesses, used to fighting relegation and be extra motivated to put Forrest down. Probably not a long term fit, but, in this particular situation might work.

Dyche? Jesus wept lads, we're a **** basket case if we hire him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,611 ✭✭✭Girly Gal

sorry to break it to you, but, Spurs are already a basket case, hence the situation right now, like hiring Tudor wasn't a basket case decision!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,586 ✭✭✭Glebee

As mental as it sounds I'd take Dyche everyday of the week and twice on Sundays over Tudor. Tudor is not getting us out of relegation, the situation is worse since he arrived. Get rid of him, he's destroying any hope we have of getting out of this mess. Anyone but 90 year old Harry Rednap.

Mad opinion but I think the only manager this lot would fight for is big Ange, he can tell them these last few games are the new Europa cup run and to give everything on them. Honestly couldn't do any worse then the dross Tudor and Frank served up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,611 ✭✭✭Girly Gal

The problem with big Ange is that defensively he's a disaster, and not really the type of manager you want in a relegation battle. Spurs need to tighten up defensively and keep their discipline, it's about doing whatever it takes to stay up, 10 points will probably be enough, so a few draws and 2 wins might be enough. It's very likely to go down to the final day, 17th is enough, anything above that is a bonus, style of play is irrelevant now, it's all about the results, whoever, takes over from Tudor is unlikely to be manager next season, they will be just there with one objective, to keep Spurs up. Spurs can then reset in the summer- a reset will have to happen regardless if Spurs stay up or go down.

I missed this in the chaos if yesterday. Is this for real. Sounds like some sort of early April fools prank.

To be fair to them, they released those t-shirts just after winning the Europa League last summer - I think it was an attempt to take ownership of the term, and try to say "to be Spursy is to be a winner".

But of course it looks awful on the club shop's shelves 6 months later when in the middle of a monumental collapse, so they really had to pull 'em.

    Is he gone yet?

Dyche would be more of the same agricultural manager and a terrible appointment. It would also cause Forest players to raise their game for the six pointer.

Get klinnsman in . He saved us from relegation before!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,941 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

Reading multiple Twitter reports that Sean Dyche was approached and turned Spurs down before Tudor was approached as he didn't believe this bunch of players had the fight in them he would have wanted.

That's not to say a few million pounds waved under his nose with a big Premier League survival bonus now may change his mind but if there is any element of truth in it, its a very bad look.

Tudor is obviously not the right man for the job, but who the hell is now and is available?????? We're fcked

Would've been mad to have each of Dyche, Nuno, and Pereira all involved at 2 relegation troubled clubs each in the same season.

Would we take Southgate at this stage? (If he’d take us).

Reading online that venketeshen is blaming Levy For mistakes made in the past, as to why we now need to sell players in the summer!
Levy didn’t sign Gallagher at 200k a week!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭tom1ie

I’d get Harry in now tbh.
Anything to give the place a lift.
    He's still sprightly enough.
