Sam can't tackle, and until he fixes that, he shouldn't be near the team. Sam fans can start the conversation again once there is a dramatic improvement with it.

Just let me fix that last bit if I may. Fans who want the best for Ireland can start that conversation.

Genuine question, is English your second language? Please read back on all on my comments and see if the proverbial penny drops. I suspect however that it won’t.

You seem to have weirdly forgotten a no.10 from that list.

One that had played the previous 6 Nations and was our best choice to play again while young Sam got time to grow.

Tom Wood has had a very good U20s and can tackle. Shouldn't he now be starting 10 for Ireland? If this sounds stupid to you, then let it sink in..

When Wood goes on an Emerging Ireland tour, a senior Ireland tour of South Africa, plays some Champions Cup games for Munster, yeah sure, why not? Edit: and a Six Nations as a training panellist

I don’t know whether this narrative of Prendergast being plucked from nowhere to play undeservedly for Ireland is based on just a lack of basic knowledge or something nastier, but it isn’t accurate.

If a law is routinely ignored, should it be there?

Actually, that's one I'd enforce, it depowers some of the scrums and makes them a bit more of a contest

On the ref mic it sounded like Kelleher lifted his leg to make it look like he was going to hook but didn’t actually make an attempt to hook, ref said that wasn’t enough and he actually had to make an attempt.
Im all for enforcing laws but they have to be enforced consistently, this was just bizarre.

A lot of the scrum penalties and general mess would be sorted out if the hookers were forced to hook and the scrum halves to feed straight. The incentive to keep the scrum up to facilitate the hook would be much higher. The team not in possession then could choose to push to disrupt the hook or remain steady to try to win the hook against the head. That was the design intent of the scrum. Not the current mess.
