Great finish. Probably a forlorn hope that the mens race finishes in a similar fashion but who knows.

Great last kilometer. Chabbey mugs everyone with her positioning

Just in and race already over.

Yeah Rob Hatch saying it's not over. It is unless he has an accident and nobody wants that but ultimately boring.

Actually looking like Healy might join this second group so in the fight for the podium.

All the favourites with teammates and they are not even trying to burn anyone to catch Pog.

I think the biggest threat to a del Toro second place is Christen's sense of entitlement to a podium- he'll probably try to chase Isaac down, dragging everyone else along with him.

    Called it.

Well, that is probably going to be the top 3 for every non flat classic for this season

Was one of my favourite races. Didn’t even turn it on today. 80km solos? Not for me

    Excellence is overrated

For his own sake he needs a rival. Its great rivalries that get remembered.

He has a rival, at this time of year at least: MVDP. MSR is in two weeks.

it’s time to start handicapping cyclists like horses.

He has rivals in most races. In MSR or P-R he’ll probably lose to MVDP.

LBL is him v Remco. The Tour, Vingegaard.

Strada Bianchi is almost designed for him.

He is way ahead of Vingo. He done well to get his Tour wins but he won't come near another if Pog is fit.

What Pog needs is another Pog. Ya he would win less but it would be a historic era if we had a Coppi vs Bartali or Prost vs Senna. What we have now is Armstrong or Shumacker which is terrible for a sport.

PoPog vs Mercxx is interesting but not the same.

He lost 2 Tours to Vingegaard. It’s a bit short sighted to say he’s miles ahead of him.

Pog is 27, Jonas 29. Jonas is still elite, but don't see him massively improving in the next year or 3 to overtake Pog again.

Del Toro (If he goes to a different team), Seixas, Remco (in a TT-heavy GT), maybe even Ayuso are where the next GT challenges to Pog are going to come from.

He wasn't miles ahead in the past. He is miles ahead now.

It was a decent race for second. Pity the TV director didn't give a sh!t about it at the end.

Pogacar's long term dominance is partly down to the generation of riders before him not being "great". So he was able to arrive with not too many better than him as a 20 year old.

The generation of riders coming after him look better than the generation before. So hopefully he'll get pushed to the limit before his form naturally dips. We'll then be able to properly place him in the pantheon of greats.

Del Toro just let Seixas ride away in the last km. Having sat on Seixas wheel the whole way, he did the decent thing and didn't contest the finish. Jan Christen, on the other hand, continued to do Jan Christen things and attacked his group on the run- in. That lad has the potential to become one of the truly great gobsh!tes of the sport.

Was going to ask if Seixas had attacked and rode him off the wheel or if IDT just let him go. They hadn't been on screen for a bit and it cut to Seixas coming home with a significant gap.

IDT looked as if he was in 2nd gear all day. Borderline a smile on his face sitting marking them once Pogi was gone.

there’s no way any professional rider just lets someone from another team ride away for second in a race like this IMO.

It doesn't look like he did to me, although, just to be clear, and not saying it is the case here, there are several times in the past where it would have happened.

Some for a thank you or simple acceptance of the better rider on the day, some for the avoidance of negative publicity or questions about the team, some for the expectation of a return the favour later in the season.

The latter is not really a runner anymore, the middle one is quite possible even if just from a view of it looking bad to have so many team members on the podium (think TJV last year with 3 on a podium after an effective TTT which got lots of negative press (didn't bother me)), the first one is quite likely, athletes know their limits better now then they ever did in the past, and some will simply make the right logical choice to say, I won't make that, no point getting injured or blowing up, the other rider was the better one on the day, no point killing myself to prove it.

They've fecked up Strade by designing it for him. They've made it too hard now, and ruled out the classics guys. Although fair play to WvA on a top 10, albeit minutes down. If they ever review the calendar, they should look at moving it nearer to the ardennes.

Ineos announce they have found a "major" new title sponsor in the form of an unnamed Danish tech company.

Ratcliffe will still own the team but not be a title sponsor.
