So Claire Byrne is a distant memory for RTÉ listeners. 3 months gardening leave and no real punch on Newstalk for her first week…. while Pat Kenny takes a months gardening leave!

Most will now consider that Pat has retired, he has to build a weekend audience and unless he able to get a few weeks of news worthy punches he might as well have retired.

Wall to wall coverage of the upcoming schedule, I assume in 4 weeks time interview with Pat Kenny "I really felt sorry for Claire, she was caught in the middle, but I think Newstalk will give her that extra spark she needs".

    ______

In the end they were just greedy, they all knew one another and knew what to expect more money for no return, it was a secure cash flow, but in fairness they looked for what they wanted and fair dues to them for that, and wouldn't you be doing the same!

Just one more thing .... when did they return that car

Michael O'Leary doing Drivetime and NT this evening - launching into Mehall Do Nothing Martin. He seems to listen to radio throughout the day just like Catherine Connolly 😍

Ciara Kelly can’t stop interrupting the OTB guy previewing the weekend sports

Listening to the hard shoulder with Shane Coleman and Ciara Kelly as presenters now, they have kept alot of the segments that Cuddihy had like "winners and sinners" on Friday as last 15 minutes of show, basically it is invited guests and the presenters ranting about something that was newsworthy during the week that they don't like. Usually they come at it from a very left wing perspective with Kelly playing devil's advocate now. However before they used to invite on guests from a wider spectrum once they were distinctly liberal and left wing now it seems to be just presenters and reporters from the Beaur media group like Cara Augustenburg and other lowly newstalk reporters. Is this a way for them to give exposure to these reporters and backround presenters trying to increase their profile with the public?

It used to be an interesting segment. Now it's just tabloid gossip.

I see Coleman is presenting The Tonight Show recently. He always has his top button closed in his shirts but no tie so it looks "wrong" I think. He always goes on about his dress sense as if he has great dress sense but I dunno.....it doesn't look great to me.

Usual Michael HR tactic on fox hunting yesterday, doesn't like the question, refuses to answer, goes off tangent, whines continually about being not allowed to speak.

Newstalk and RTE have become boringly repetitive - the same items on each ‘show’ till by the evening one is sick of hearing about the far away Catastrophe, , the Match, the Show and the celebrity Gossip -

Move to BBC 4 radio if you have any interests other than those above. And BBC 4 extra for comedy and plays from the past.

I heard that, it was hilarious. Got asked a simple question "is there not a more humane way of culling the fox population than having them being torn apart by dogs" and he managed to speak for four minutes without answering it. When stopped and asked could he just answer the question he got the hump and said I'm answering it if you let me speak.Never did answer it but the woman on the other side answered it, shooting them.

Nice little Johanna Donnelly style quip from one of the newsreaders earlier after reporting on Arnold Schwarzenegger's visit to Belfast "I'll be back in half an hour with more news" 🤣🤣.

At 07:15, Joe Lynam on NT said the EU was recommending to drop highway speed limits to ten kilometres per hour 🤩

    (should have said by 10)

Did Coleman take poorly? Dissappeared from the studio.
