Diabolical defence, JGP missed an initial tackle to let them get the linebreak. Balacoune should have done way better. How slow is Jamie Osbourne off the mark?

I've seen aircraft carriers turn quicker than Osborne

Wow we need to wake up pretty fast

That was a shocking half by us. What are we at.

Alex Mann is 22 tackles made, 2 missed in that half, unreal workrate.

Did Ballacoune not have to stay out, furlong and others more at fault there?

Poor by Ireland. Have tried to play all the rugby and have a 2 point lead to show for it. Just all feels a bit too hectic and rushed. The last play we had before half time was questionable. Why not go through the phases and go in with a 9 point lead?

Game going exactly how folks thought. If we were playing NZ or SA we'd probably beat them, yet struggling against Wales.

Very disappointing. We'll still win it well, they have no depth so when the replacements come it we'll win it comfortably.

I have to say I’m impressed by the way wales have approached this, some amount of physicality

Could and probably should be 21-3, but no, it's 12-10. One try chalked off due to just bad luck with the knock on, but the rest is down to atrocious mistakes across the board.

Balacoune will be dissappointed by that half.

Baloucoune won't enjoy the Monday morning video analysis. I get that Osborne is on the man outside but you have to adjust there.

likely England was a one off. They were woeful and made us look good. Maybe Farrell to Saracens wouldn’t be bad thing after all

Tadhg Furlong really has turned into a useless waste of space on a rugby pitch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,403 ✭✭✭clsmooth

I’d say so. Never bite in. And not on a prop. Just a pity our inside defender was also a prop.

No better sight than a big guy try.

Reminds me of the huge O-Line lads in NFL that intercept and suddenly find themselves in an ocean of space only to run out of gas.

Outstanding from Wales...great try from the prop.....they're in the gutter in the grand scheme but they are showing great pride between last week and that half...

Hopefully they can keep it up...

That was a huge moment. We went from potential 14-0 ahead to 7-3 and Wales feeling they’re in a game.

complete system failure there. If Baloucoune goes for the tackle the man on the wing 100% scores. But he probably needs to go for it anyway and pray for a forward pass or something.

Zero control at half back. Trying to make things happen too individually.

No rugby team in the world excels at making poor teams look good quite like Ireland. Its actually impressive

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,766 ✭✭✭leakyboots

Wales are retaining the ball well for long periods in attack. We were humming and then that try got disallowed and then some errors have crept in, sloppy passes, intercept, and they've taken their points. Never give a sucker an even break as George Hook was fond of saying.

Well that was a terrible half of rugby. As expected Wales up for it and Ireland expected to turn up and win. Should pull away after 60 mins but still such a poor performance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,453 ✭✭✭chupacabra

Attack again shown to be absolutely dreadful. No penetration, Crowley is standing still when he receives the pass off the ruck. Kills momentum with that high welsh defence. England were just truly shocking.

    Strange half.

Getting into some good positions but the penultimate or last pass is letting us down because it's being thrown at knees or slightly behind the taker. In the 22 Forwards don't seem to be working in units - loads of one up runners.

Defence was great for 41mins. And then awful for 30seconds.

England game looks like an aberation. This is the fifth poor half out of seven this year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,427 ✭✭✭OldRio

That kick by Crowley with a minute left should have been long. No need to go for a contestable in your own half with a minute left. Poor game management.

Before anyone starts it's not the have a go at number 10 post it's what I think.

Poor first half. Flat pass to a runner. Rinse repeat. No rubbers. No kicks behind.

Crowley is a weak kicker in extremely poor form. Only so much a coach can do.

Absolutely, Osborne totally at fault there, completely over ran his position
