Jaysus lads we are in dire straits. I don’t know what to say.

I think we will beat atletico and proceed to next round. Draw with Liverpool. Beat Forrest beat hammers. All of this will be a distant memory.

As long as we keep 11 players on the pitch.

The question isn't "if we are good enough to get out of the Championship next season", but rather, "How will the players, manager and squad cope when they realise that for every other opponent, a game against Spurs will be a cup game?" Most noticeably, recently, this happened Leeds. Every game, especially the away games, were just opposition fans baying for blood (metaphorically) and their players responding and playing above themselves. That's the hard part.

    Absolutely.
Levy, the board, the DOF and previous DOF, the medical team, Frank, Ange, the majority of the players especially the senior players, all have to take a level of blame for the state we are in.

However Tudor knows he has somewhat of a free pass here as the club was such a shite show before he joined, but he should be called out for the severely limited coach that he is.
If we lose against pool and Forrest, is that the stage we start planning for the championship?

Next season should be interesting. Bergvall and Gray are the jewels in the crown that you'd want to hang onto and build around. Would Maddison, Danso, Solanke or a returning from injury Kulusevski take a season in the Championship? Hang onto Ben Davies. You have the likes of Vuskovic, Takai, Lankshear, Phillips, Donley, Moore, Scarlett, Dorrington, Yang and Abbott returning from loans, many of them used to the Championship. Throw in a few seasoned championship players and maybe a fresh, exciting, new team emerges.

Is 5 consecutive PL defeats the worst ever run for Spurs?

The issue is that spurs will have to sell the players listed above as the overheads will far outstrip the income due to the drop in gate receipts, tv income etc.

We won’t be able to hang onto the likes of Maddison and Kulu etc.

Even if Joe Lewis decides to inject cash into the club the FA will want to see spurs financial sustainability model as to how the clubs income can sustain its losses without one off cash in sections from the owners going forward.

Relegation will be a disaster for us.

Jesus lads, can we stop catastrophising? Firstly, there’s the parachute payments, secondly, there’s enormous non football related income but, third and most important, our wages to revenue ratio is 42%. Our revenue could halve and it would still be a lower ratio than Villa are somehow getting away with.

Maybe Levy was preparing us for the championship all along? It might explain the current omnishambles.

Why would we keep half of them anyway.

None of the back 5 would stay. Dragusins headcase agent will have him.bought and sold before the final game of the season. Danso I would fight tooth and nail to hold on.

Paulinha and Mauni loans will end. Bissouma contract is up.

That leaves Solanke, Tel, Richarlison, Xavi, Kudus, Gallagher, Sarr, Odebert and Gray.

Id hold on Gray, Richarlison and Gallagher might stay seeing as hes only a new signings. The rest are not going to hang about.

Baring a miracle we will go down,

But to suggest we will be paupers is mad, we will still fill the stadium in the championship, we have huge off football revenue

Sell half the usless fcuks, relegation would be bad but not the be end , maybe the purge that is needed , but one I would not rather see

The only hope we have is to sack Tudor and get some one in who knows the league

Harry unfortunately is now a 🦕, genuinely would Sherwood be a bad shout for two months

I firmly believe if we could scrape one win from somewhere we would go on a run and be safe , fans need to give this team one last push regardless of what we all think,

It’s astonishing to see how much players rule, I mean VDV now thinks he is prime baresi and to good for this club, Romero the same , two gobshites and their red cards

Pair of lads should be made stay and play for u21 next year ,

I heard Paul Robinson say last week, you can only circle a drain for so long before you fall in, how true is that ,

Anyone saying relegation is net too bad needs to watch the below video to see what the financial impact would be on spurs.

Maybe it’s all a load of bollox and they don’t know what they’re talking about but it’s a fairly bleak picture that they paint.
    Watch from 22m on.
We have to avoid relegation at all costs!

A little FA cup win this weekend would have been the tonic.

Leeds in a sticky patch and they just won 3-0, clean sheet etc...bit of momentum, while we look forward to Athletico

i listen to 5live football phone tim vickery said should spurs go down they'll bounce back immediately . I am of the opposite. Should spurs go down I see them staying down for years . The club is more interested in holding concerts than a proper football club .

Totally agree, the business model would simply scale down to make money in the championship until we get relegated again in 20 years time. Enic is 100% the problem.

Watched ten minutes of These are unknowns, hypothetically, we don't know this, if this happens, did they do this, we don't know, we are literally catastrophising for viewers and plugging that gap by saying if shoulda coulda woulda at the end of every sentence.

I hope we don't equal our most consecutive defeats in the PL record. I've since found out it's 6 matches, which occurred in the 1994/95 season.

Just wondering if I’m the only one who feels that it would be better for the club if we get knocked out of the CL by Atlético? Avoiding relegation has to be a key priority and we have a better chance of doing this without the distraction (and additional workload) of further CL ties.

I dont think its something we are going to have to worry about as Atletico we beat us comfortably in both legs but id say the vast majority would be in agreement with you.

Honestly, We should play half a dozen kids and rest anyone half important to the remaining league games.

If we dont win ... then therell be fans that want him fcuking sacked ......

Exactly, that's the worst part, let's catastrophe IF it actually happens, I find the great irony in the media the last few days the pile in is sensational, it's for viewership, even now nobody genuinely believes it's going to happen, so they're getting their click bait in now before the inevitable recovery

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 328 ✭✭byrne249

We're in a relegation battle, time to accept it, dig in, and support the players and gouge their eyes out later, doing it now helps nobody.

Who am I kidding, Ive watched a handful of games in a year and a half.... I lost faith long ago lads sorry 😂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,916 ✭✭✭✭2nd Row Donkey

And id be one of them.

I can understand why the club hired him initially... but the performances since he took over have been worse then they were under Frank, worse.

Tudor may well be a very decent manager, and if we werent running out of road (games) then I wouldnt even be writing this but the players are on the floor and need lifting and we have maybe 7 games to do that in at best. Within the next 3 epl games,if results for us and the other relegation team continue as they have then it will be mathematically out of our hands.

Will Tudour lift the players in the next 3 or 4 games and get us a win. Almost definitely not. Id say theres a 10-15% chance at best.

Will a new manager lift the players. Maybe and its only a maybe but we have got to do something and unfortunately it has to be dramatic and it has to be a 'Hail Mary'.

Surprised Mauricio wasn't flying business class. Hopefully he wont be dropping into the Bernabau while in Madrid.

Kinsky set to start, which is an interesting choice. Big game to start him.

Vicario has been poor for ages though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,161 ✭✭✭Deise Vu

Kinsky is a good shout from Tudor. If we are going to continue working every possession backwards to the Keeper, we need someone who doesn’t shank 50% of his kicks.

Not wanting to take over from Joe but I’m predicting a comfortable 2 goal win tonight. No game at the weekend, Spence straight in from the treatment table. That’s manicure and hair treatment tables. Bissouma will have got in extra laughing gas stocks for the celebrations. There will still be a full international team out there, including a World Cup winner.

Tonight, watch them bust a gut, Sunday will be the same old same old unfortunately. No future contract to play for.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭tom1ie

Good shout from Tudor for Kinsky.
Bad shout from Tudor dropping Solanke and not starting Xavi.

No pressing from the front and no creativity.

If we sit back at Anfield on Sunday we will be beat, if we attack VVD and Konate we will have a much better chance of beating them.
They have mistakes in them at the back lads.
