Yeah seems to be back to normality so far and no over the top 'fame-hungry' people on it yet.

Yeah sure isn't filming usually around August/September so the Dub couple really didn't mess around and looks like he's found his wife which is what he wanted.

Looks like the two women were maybe too similar in the end and I think probably distance for the other couple as i thought both seemed well matched.

The owl lad last night came across awful at the end…couldn't wait to split the bill. Couldn't even offer to pay. And then a real firm and almost hostile "no" when asked if he'd like to meet again

And the "There was no physical attraction" (if I recall correctly). Even if that is the root of many or most 'no's, there shoud never be a need to actually say that - 'no romantic…' covers everything.

    Yeah he was ruthless.

I thought the girl from Monaghan could have given yer man a chance. She's single since 2016, lives at home with Mammy & Daddy and said something about how dates need to 'work for it' for her. And she let him pay and go first. Like whats the harm in saying you'd go for a second date.

She's not the catch she thinks she it. Not saying anyone should settle for anyone but a second date is no harm

The gay red haired guy was the image of Trevor Deely.

Yes…spot on….he was a really sound nice lad….so easy going; although he needs a stylist to dress him!!! She is very attractive.

She must have rubbed him the wrong way near the end as his attitude appeared to come out of nowhere.

I wouldn't mind but she was a gorgeous woman with a beautiful face. He should be so lucky!

He kept mentioning he loved sex and wanted to "explore" things. He said he regretted not being more "promoscious" when younger and he hadn't had children as he wasn't good at committment! He might be in for a lonely old age. She had a lucky escape.

he looked a lot older than he said he was, came across as a pratt

    Very enjoyable episode.

They absolutely edited something with the older couple the vibe just switched.

Rachel is gorgeous so no idea why she's not getting approached....Personality maybe but yet again they match a couple from opposite ends 🙄

The 2 younger couples matched well.

I thought the Monaghan/Kerry couple could have worked, but yeah she seemed a bit too picky based off of one date. He was a decent lad.

I never understand why a second date is ruled out when as far as we can see from the program they’ve had a good time, what’s the harm?

in case Rachel from Monaghan reads here she absolutely made the right decision. He was not at all a catch and gave me the willies tbh. Ex is his best friend and got the snip? No way girlie

He looks way older than 64, more like late 70's. I'm in my 60's and he looks a lot older than those in their 60's and 70's in my social circle.

He came across badly, she had a lucky escape.

Gas yer man didn't know mary Byrne. Then when she told him was fairly chilled about it.

The brother and sister are the most un -waterford like people I've ever seen. Where's the posh part of waterford?!

I wouldn't have known her either. I've heard of her and probably saw her on the telly before, but I wouldn't have recognised her.

I wasn't mad about any of the couples this week, but I didn't hate them. Very neutral.

They value dental hygiene in their house. Fantastic set of teeth on both of them!

They have definitely changed approach this season , back to basics and I’m really enjoying it

Yeah thought that was another good episode, really thought the double-date was going to be bad but actually ended up decent.

All seem like decent couples to me.

Well glad I was wrong, she came across very nice and Gerry was down to earth too.

Enjoyed that episode but would would have liked a better update on the siblings.

I thought Mary Byrne's date was lovely, an attractive man, a good listener. However I think she's is dining out (excuse pun) for a long time on the X Factor! Also she tends to overshare, sometimes less is more, less mad laughing, less talking about the past, past relationships etc. If a person in their mid sixties hasn't had lots of knocks, heartache and sadness then there's something wrong, its called life. Its not exceptional or unusual.

When it comes to expectations in your sixties it's not like you're rushing to get married, buy a house, have kids……….so there is less need for the "putting up walls" as Mary says she does. What's the point of going on a dating show as a mature dater in your sixties, if you're going to put up walls?

Anyway they were all lovely couples this week but it was a bit flat.

    Enjoyable enough episode this week.

The gay guy from cork....that was a wig....right?! Something just looked off. He was a bit of a dose maybe a bit nervous, his date was nice. Surprised it was a yes from both.

Mary Byrne came across well, good match. Bit of publicity for the show at least ha.

Brother and Sister were good fun. It was kind of a reluctant yes you could tell from her. Brother and his match were a good one.

This has to be the worst series since it started. This weeks episode was particularly dreadful- wall to wall narcissists 🙁

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,257 ✭✭✭nomdeboardie

Would have loved for his answer to her “What do you drive?”, to have been “I’ve a horse outside…”

Is it me or are the younger guys on the show too eager? too much of yes men, and let the lady know how much they like her.

No playing it cool. Im surprised the 2 women said yes. in my experience you play it cool and then they cant get enough of you.

When I was that age and even now I always would play things like if it works out great, but if not there's plenty more women to see if you aren't into me.

im not sure if its just because they are young and inexperienced or because young lads these days arent dating as much or having sex so they are delighted when a woman even talks to them.

if they keep that up, she wont stay long in my opinion.
