Log Cabin / Modular Home

Mrs Rider & I are planning (in a few years) to put a small cabin / apartment at the end of my sons garden . Want something pre-built, turn key, etc. We are calling it a 'log cabin' but its not really. Hopefully a 2 bed bungalow for under 100k . I have looked online and things have changed since I last looked (maybe 10 years ago?) . Has anyone got and recommendations for a company? Or website that gives prices (without having to 'get a quote')? Did the law change to allow 45 sq m on own property without planning permission?

Any tips / advice / pitfalls welcome. Ta

the law hasnt changed yet. it will probably towards the end of this year.

the rules around this may not be a "lassiez-faire" as some people expect.

Will be odd watching the law change to allow these in the garden, and then suddenly all the companies in a flap about meeting building regulations

and wait till the first serious fire in one of these and the fire brigade struggle for access. If the government impose strict rules on them (impossible to enforce) the system will be abused beyond belief.
