Temperature dropped from 8 degrees this morning to 3 degrees now, and it seems like sleet or snow mixed in with the rain in Dublin 9.

I'm also very saddened to read of the loss of MT 😥 As a long time lurker to this thread I always enjoyed his posts and great knowledge. He'll be missed.

Can you just imagine how slippy the roads and pavements will be later tonight and in the morning when this freezes over. Treacherous !

I was just thinking this coming back from late lunch break now. Its gotten so cold outside the past hour, could there be a chance of some wintry stuff but checked on met and no mention…

Exactly crossed my mind. Looking forward to the sunshine forecast and early morning sunrise but will conditions underfoot be extremely slippy if it freezes on today's manky rainfall.

Horrible day Meath with rain. 3⁰

Blizzard like conditions on the m50 commute. Left the office early and traffic was still bananas.

Some very scenic views of the Dublin mountains this evening. Surprisingly seen some sleet even at low levels of the southside too, massive change to yesterdays early springtime sunshine.

No snow here (just rain all morning) but it was down to 3C by lunchtime, a full 10C lower than yesterday.

Not a bad day in general around Tralee after the overnight rain giving 11mm up until about 09.00 or so followed by bright spells with passing cloud but feeling cold in the breeze a few local rain and hail showers in the afternoon, the one below I had to sit it out for a few minutes around 15.20 before leaving the car.

It's one thing to having lashing rain all day but the cold is unreal!

Only 3 degrees at 5pm on commute home and then I was getting near Rathcoole and could see all the Dublin mountains were covered in snow😱.I actually thought i was seeing things!

Eh were was that forecast Met Eireann🤨

No doubt M.T would have been on ball if still with us.

Stunning morning. 4C. Sun and a clear sky. The teasing of promise for new growth in the air. Birds tweeting. Daffodils in bloom. Earlier sunlight. Later sunrise. Wonderful.

Cracker of a day thank God.

Just to say MT's wife Sheila has posted a thank you to everyone this morning over on his dedicated post, just in case anyone missed it within all the sympathies.
