Are those cordless vacuums in Lidl at the moment any good?

The original brand versions like Dyson are 400 or 500 euro.

These models are about 80 euro.

Are they total junk, or useable though?

I bought one a few years ago, not sure if it's the same as the current model but i can't imagine it's hugely different. Still have it, it still works, and I still use it. It doesn't have massive suction, but it's good for minor food spillages, wood shavings after drilling, dust, that kind of thing.

we have one. on solid floors its ok. on carpets its junk as the suction is very weak.

I got one of those cheap ones that was dumped by a neighbour as useless.

I plugged it in and it seemed they were right.

I then gave the filters a good clean and it worked fine.

Still working after three years.

I have always used a corded one for many years , Panasonic , Dyson was useless , One of the best ones i came across was a vax that was getting scrapped and was able to grab it and very surprised of the suction power on my carpets where Dyson failed . Also picked up a Vax combination kit of many accessories for cheap as chips.

same as above. i had a cordless one and it was pretty bad. when it gave up the ghost, I bought a corded once and the difference was night and day. i guess its power management and battery reasons but easily double the suction with the corded one.

There's one called "Sonia" in Tesco on discount, but it's apparently low end.

Cordless require a plug for charging, meaning I couldn't store it in my closet anyways.

They weren't selling well, but ultimately I don't have place to store it as I don't have a plug socket in my appliances closet.

Have to go with the corded model, what are your thoughts on "Henry Hoover"?

I have a George, which is Henry's wet and dry brother. George is bullet proof although he is a bit top heavy.

You see plenty of Henry's in commercial settings so that says everything about how sturdy they are.

I bought one of the Lidl cordless vacs just for quick cleaning crumbs and the like. Can't even manage that, half sucks it up but doesn't have the strength to pull it into the bin so it rattles around in the tube and falls out when you turn it off.

When it comes to the middle aisle I find anything with a motor is generally under powered. This waste of money was no exception

I see there's also a Henry stick vacuum, wonder whether that has decent suction power compared to the corded Henry model?

Doesn't require constant recharging apparently so I could plug it in to a wall socket, and store it in my appliance closet still.
