I'm trying to figure out if I can get anything out of that (multinational) courier company

Going by my past experience with multinational courier company (UPS), I'd imagine zero.

I'd love to use this service but the couriers just don't know how to use the locker machines or they don't trust using them which fair enough.

I got an email offering me 1 free use of the locker. But I just don't think I can trust it as the drivers need signatures from the recipient. That's what I think is creating problems. Where Parcelmotel UPS signs for it and had their own drivers to deliver the parcels out to the lockers.

It's such a shame PMotel is gone. :( There's no service of the same type now.

Any ones that AnPost have delivered for me have been fine, that's maybe 5 out of 6 so far.

They've changed their setup lately, you can now buy 'bundles' (with no time limit attached)

Replaced the monthly and yearly plans that were there

Use it recently and work no problem I guess it depends on postman ect

Having used OOHpod lockers since Parcel Motel finished up. My experiences are:

Location: OOHpod Lockers Sandyford ALDI Carpark

I had to put on the address NOT TO LEAVE PARCELS AT ALDI STORE.

    Amazon

Depends on the drivers, locations etc.

My recent experience on last Monday, the Amazon driver rang me to find out where the lockers were, eventually he found them, next morning I collected the parcel, and I found another parcel not for me in the locker. I left it there and notified OOHpod of the issue.

    AN Post

Depending on time of day, I might get the parcel, otherwise, it ends back at the depot,

    FEDEX

    No issues yet

Does anybody have experience with OOHpod and UPS. I got a parcel delivered to OOHpod two days ago. UPS tracking says delivered. However I got no QR code or barcode or anything to open the locker. Am I supposed to use the tracking number or order number instead? They don’t seem to work

    many thanks

    Yes

    It was a disaster

UPS told me package delivered, I got no code, UPS referred me to OOHpod to request code who told me the parcel wasn't in the locker and hadn't been delivered. UPS confirmed it was lost but wouldn't follow up without me filling out forms. Seller wouldn't follow up without me filling out forms and signing to say I hadn't received it even though I had email from OOHpod and UPS saying it was lost.

Two Days later it showed up in my porch soaking wet. First and last time I used it.

Thanks a million for the swift reply, doesn’t really inspire much confidence, certainly won’t be using it again no matter the outcome! Cheers

My experience from Vinted with parcel delivered to me at my nearest OOHpod locker,

Parcel arrived. Seller did not have OOHpod number, received email to my account with code to open locker,

Issue with Amazon leaving more then one item into locker, Last time I went to the locker, used codes to access locker, nothing inside, reported matter to Amazon and OOHpod, luckly OOHpod were able to remotely open locker, I also found another parcel from another customer inside the locker. This is leaving Amazon open to major frauds and scams .

I did get my parcel. if anyone else has the same issue please report it to Amazon.

This was my 4th time finding other customers parcels inside the locker,

    Parcel motel was flawless!

    Thanks for the info everyone.

I generally don't like oohpod, both times I've ordered to Strabane Royal Mail have said they didn't know how to access the storage locker and left them in Lidl, and by the time Royal Mail have told me Lidl have "disposed of the packages".

But with vinted I've had nothing but success, every item comes at 9am on the dot right as I'm heading into work, 3 days collection time, instant notifications, just enter in the 5 character code easy as.

Only problem I've ever had was someone elses unlabeled package was with mine, next day I went back and called the number on the machine, and they had it open to place it back within 20 seconds.

I assume the main problem with vinted is the delivery men not knowing how to use them, but UPS are really good. For me its more convenient and €1.20 cheaper.

Also looking forward to when someone orders one of my items through UPS because it will be so much more convenient being able to send it 24/7 vs 9-5 at an post

Is there a warehouse location for parcels that aren't collected?

LoL an post registered is insured and tracked (in ROI) and is 10eur or so.

I dont know how these companies survive.

I use ooh but they wont use their own couriers to deliver to the lockers like parcelmotel, so its too risky.

Anyone know what happened to the OOHpod in Lidl Glasnevin ?

    It seems to be gone.

Has anyone had a package delivered to an Ooh locker, then had it redirected to either another locker or a home address? Online seller →NI Locker →another Locker

How do you do that exactly? I've been looking for information about sending a delivery to the Post Office but I'm not sure how, are you able to do it at the ordering stage? I imagine there's more to it than just putting the post office's address but I cannot find the procedure.

Does anyone else have experience with how Royal Mail handle these Oohpods? I've heard a few things about couriers not knowing how the things work…

Some companies in the UK, Amazon being the most obvious, but not the only one offer on checkout delivery to a post office. They'll call it local collect, or click and collect or something similar. If they do you'll see it as a delivery option. Details of how long they hold it for and what you need to do can be found here:

Ahhh I see now, thanks. It seems it has to be offered by the retailer, and not many of the shops I buy from seem to offer it? I've ordered one small, cheapy thing to be delivered to the closest Oohpod near me- if Royal Mail do know how to handle the things it would make my life very handy, it should be delivered tomorrow so I'll keep everyone informed.

    Update: It worked!

I had a bit of anxiety when my parcel from Royal Mail was said to have been delivered and yet I didn't get a text from OohPod, but as it turns out Royal Mail don't deliver directly to the locker for whatever reason and instead hand it in to the petrol station which puts them in from there. Not sure if that's policy all around NI or just my particular postman having an arrangement with that petrol station but safe to say the system did work for me. By no means perfect but it's cheaper than any sort of forwarding service.

Yeah I've gotten a ton of stuff from Vinted delivered to the oohpod in town from UPS because it was cheaper than to the house and have never had a problem. But the one time I ordered coffee that could be delivered to the UK but not ROI, the royal mail sent a confirmation image of the box on a Lidl looking checkout, no confirmation of where it was delivered too. I waited like two days to see if they would put in the oohpod, never did, instead of driving 30 mins over the border, I called the Lidl up to ask if they had received a package in my name, they said they couldn't find anything. Had to fill out a complaint form with the coffee company and got a refund 3 months later. Never done it since.

I'm looking at ordering a new phone from the google UK online store. Obviously they only deliver to the UK. Can I use Oohpod as I did parcel motel for this purpose? The addresses you send to seem to be to the pods, not to a central location that then gets forwarded

As per the original post I'm happy to pay any customs charges and taxes etc so this is not an attempt to get around those

I have had the empty locker scenario, got absolutely no joy out of oohpod who just kept saying they were looking into it.

An over size parcel delivered to one of their own offices is safer, not sure I would trust sending high value electronics to one of the lockers.

Did you do this in the end? Currently looking at Oohpod to get something delivered to the north, that’s uk only delivery, from England.
