this seems to be targeting the Axis of Resistance. The main allies appear to be Russia and Afghanistan. Al Jazeera is not nailing its colours to either side of the mast, but seems to caution that the attempt could seriously backfire on the US

Comical to hear Trump dismiss Reza Pahlavi as a possible new leader of Iran in the event of overthrowing the government. Reza has been everywhere promoting himself as a leader for a new 'democratic' Iran. He is basically an Israeli puppet. Anyway the big D has kicked him to the curb.

US oil companies will benefit. The average US citizen will get squat despite the cheerleading from the moneyed class.

I wonder will the Mid-Terms result in the Republicans losing?

Israel is getting friendly with Modi. Lord knows what Netanyahu will suggest against Pakistan. The prospect of a war in South Asia has just ratcheted up - it doesn’t need much help at the best of times.

When Trump says Iran will never have nukes, he better factor in the possibility that Pakistan or China may park a few there in the future.

it should but many of the dems are on board with what the pedo president is doing. they just wanted him to ask permission first.

“I think they were going to attack first.” What an absurd liar Trump is. Does anybody believe this rubbish?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 965 ✭✭✭buzzerxx

None of this would even be happening if Iran really did have nuclear weapons.

He’s a natural ally of Israel. He’s spent a whole lifetime hating Muslims.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 449 ✭✭Starfire20

true. they also constantly ignore that israel has nukes and is constantly bombing its neighbours.

Imagine having a leader in time of war who has to reassure his citizens he’s not going to get bored with the whole thing!

Does not matter if Trump or Israel call him a leader. He would not survive 5 minutes in Iran. People there were done with shah and his offspring long time ago. His name is all he has. Plus zero support in Iran.

Many, if not all, US soldiers who enlist to fight this unjustified war do so because of monetary reasons. They are in debt because they are from the land of the fee and the home of the slave.

This may be the answer on how it all started…

He will go where there is the most profit. He is completely untrustworthy.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

There is actually a gag order forbidding the discussion of Israel’s nuclear weapons by American government agency employees:

IRmep has filed a 39-page federal lawsuit (PDF) challenging the secrecy of a gag order—WNP-136 (PDF)—that forbids all U.S. government agency employees and contractors from discussing Israel's nuclear weapons program.

The classification bulletin, which took effect on September 6, 2012, forbids covered persons from making any comment on U.S. government information or information in the public domain about Israel's nuclear weapons program. The classification bulletin's first known use was against former Los Alamos National Laboratory nuclear policy specialist James Doyle after he wrote the following sentence in an article titled "Why Eliminate Nuclear Weapons?" which had been security cleared by his employer and published by the International Institute for Strategic Studies.

Nuclear weapons did not deter Egypt and Syria from attacking Israel in 1973, Argentina from attacking British territory in the 1982 Falklands War or Iraq from attacking Israel during the 1991 Gulf War."

After an unknown congressional staffer read the article and demanded a review, it was referred to classification officials for a second review. Doyle's pay was then cut, his home computer searched, and he was fired.

Completely agree. Bless him he genuinely thinks the people would welcome him back. Whatever the rights and wrongs of the Iranian Government they have the backing of the majority of the people. Iranians are remarkably resilient people as they showed in the 8 year war against Iraq which Saddam started.

India is becoming an ally of Israel. So it’s China/Pakistan versus US/India in this part of the world at least. Iran has been reluctant to get closer to China or indeed Russia, especially Russia because of the history between the two countries, and would prefer closer ties to India but this is becoming more difficult in the current environment. There has also been tension between Iran and its neighbours Turkey and Pakistan in the past. It’s a very complicated picture.

If the energy crisis got really bad would more European countries look to Russia for oil I wonder

An interesting theory on the Israel controlling US foreign policy comments by Rubio is that he did it deliberately to try and embarrass Trump.

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

Looking at Channel 4 News tonight, it’s clear no one knows the real reason why Trump started the current Iranian conflict - and that includes his own cabinet and henchmen

He should have started his campaign for a constitutional monarchy twenty years ago, emphasizing that secular democracy was the main goal with or without him as head of state. That might have been useful for Iran in framing the debate. As it is he looks like a dodgy opportunist supported by outside powers. There does seem to be some support for him but how strong it is remains to be seen.

The Venezuelan attack doesn’t seem random and the Axis of Resistance is being picked off one-by-one. Putting this all together makes me believe that it was not random.

Starmer looks weaker and weaker every month. He needs to grow some backbone. Support the war or don't support the war - pick a side but don't try and please everyone.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,079 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

Speculation from analysts is that he may have thought he could 'do a Venezuela' and somehow topple Iran over the space of a weekend (under prompting from the Neocon nutcases and Israel). But it's still very unclear what his endgame was and how he saw the future of Iran playing out after this.

I am more intrigued who is whispering in his ear and what is their overarching strategy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,009 ✭✭✭batman75

Starmer is a self confessed and proud Zionist with a Jewish wife. He is not going to come out and criticise Israel. Remember he said it was ok to cut off water and electricity to Gaza. In my eyes that makes him an odious monster like Shatter who denies their is an ongoing genocide in Gaza.
