First morning that it was noticeably bright when the clock went off just before 7am. Makes such a difference getting up when it is bright.

Look after yourselves as best you can @Jude13 can only imagine how scary that must be with children involved.

Remember working for in Israel a few years ago and there being regular warnings & trips to bunkers etc, never got used to it & I only had myself to worry about at the time, can't imagine the stress with a family involved.

Cheers all, it looks like the UK will be trying to get their people out. We don't have the same logistics as the UK, also the EU waited until today to have a meeting about it as it was the weekend… but I hope they sort something so kids etc can leave.

It sounds absolutely horrendous. It's an extra dimension when kids especially young kids are involved.

I'm sure you're well ahead of me but get all important documents together try to have them in paper and digital. Some cash and a "go" bag. Look after yourselves 💕

Cheers all, no news of charter flights from our government, I see the US has instructed all nationals to leave immediately, however the airspace is closed again. Ditto for our Embassy. I have seen some familiar faces from the pub on Irish and English TV shows getting their five minutes in anticipation of a political career, reminds me of the cat in the hat. Their talking but are they saying anything. Very quiet here today, although I understand Abu Dhabi has rough early morning.

I am sure we have a poster from Abu Dhabi? Hope she is okay.

So sad about the MT, after the Christmas forum the weather one is the healthiest.

I was surprised to see frost on the cars this morning.

It's still fairly nippy out (granted I feel the cold)

My tumble dryer has broken (the belt should be fixable) so trying to keep on top of laundry as much as I can. My line doesn't really take a full load so there's a certain amount of "logistics" . 17 yo me is absolutely cringing at how tragic I am 😂 😂 😂

Yeah I'm keeping an eye on the weather due to the tumble dryer situation. I had put the kids bedsheets on first thing. Then I opened the blinds to see frost 😂 but I got the sheets dry, in the hot press now "just to be sure" .

Regarding Shingles/Chicken Pox. I got shingles when I was 19. Not as bad as some make out but still sore enough. Where I had them sometimes still can be a bit painful.

Sister Popcorn is in Abu Dhabi, think I told @Jude13 about it before. She seems very cool about the whole thing. I don't know if it's an act or what.

All the Christmas decorations are in her room. So, if everybody is sent home. I'll be going into the attic.

Yep, needed my sunglasses at last and about time.

I’m off to Switzerland tomorrow, Aircoach to Dublin at 7.00 am, flight to Zurich and train down to Lugano. My knee surgery will be next Monday and after a few days in hospital I will have physio six days a week for six weeks. I’m hoping that after nine years I will finally be free of crutches so please keep fingers crossed 🤞.
