This show is very dull and no where near as inventive and clever as it things it is.

    Two questions.

    1. Is next week the last episode?
    2. Who are they bringing in for the bride and groom. Big guest stars?

Wait, I forgot the priest gets murdered. I forgot he was in the show tbh.

Are the whole Irish in Spain set still like this. It seems very 2004.

I don't think that we know for certain that the priest was murdered.

He had a heart attack following a night of hedonism !

    ______

In the end they were just greedy, they all knew one another and knew what to expect more money for no return, it was a secure cash flow, but in fairness they looked for what they wanted and fair dues to them for that, and wouldn't you be doing the same!

Just one more thing .... when did they return that car

Total crap. Basically, nothing happened. Six episodes of boring nothing.

In fairness, it was probably one of the most unexpected endings ever.

    Handy winter Sunday night viewing.

Luckily there wasn't a table tennis match or something on or they would have cancelled it.

Have to say I really enjoyed it. I was somewhat skeptical after the first episode but got into the characters. I liked how it was shot, thought the music was class and the episodic set up was pretty engaging. And it was really funny at times.

A lot of the characters were unlikeable at the start but then grew on me. Was the acting amazing? No. Was it completely original? No. But it had enough good actors, originality and characters to root for to keep me engaged to the end. I liked that the wedding wasn't this big chaotic thing with loads of revelations but actually passed more or less without incident.

As with all RTÉ shows there seems to be a fair amount of hate watching for whatever reason.

Ffs what a lame reveal of how Fr Nidge died

Wtf was that fight at the wedding

The soundtrack was the only positive thing.

The rest of it must class as amongst the most woeful series ever broadcast on any network anywhere.

Going to give this a go. For context I read a lot here about the Walsh Sisters slamming that show. I caught it recently on the BBC iplayer and, watching over a long afternoon while I was sick, it actually wasn’t that bad. Not marvellous but definitely much better than the reviews here would lead you to believe so I’ll see with this show. Again I’m not expecting the Whute Lotus but I think sometimes people here have expectations that will never be satisfied. No fan of RTE but I think sometimes we look for the bad and forget to just watch.

This is true but RTÉ have let their Drama department go in over the last number of years and this is massively due to there reliance on co-productions, so when they do commission something it seems to fall flat, They had built up a relatively good reputation for by the time Love/Hate landed IMO.

Can anyone explain the need for the extreme closeups of the mothers face whilst she was on the phone in that last episode.

Was that 'I'm a celt' supposed to be humour ?

So the gay Dad decided to not be gay anymore and its all happy families again

The English boyfriend was told to **** off by the misses

Nothing came of when the Dads friend ignored the Priests body

Jesus what a wreck of a series

Stuck with it for some reason, maybe just to see how they tried to finish it up. Forgettable really.

It had moments & some of the characterisations were very recognisable.

As a whole, it was not better than some of the mini stories & so many things remained unresolved. It seemed like there wasn’t quite enough to make eight episodes so they removed bits out of each storyline to compact into six & then packed as much of what they could of what was left into the final episode.

The wedding itself was very bland & was really all about Nidge.

If that's your take then I think a lot of nuance went over your head.

I liked it lot by the end. Even some of the more unlikeable characters were redeemed somewhat in the final episode. TVL was excellent.
