    Mine worked before card arrived.

I wish I could but the app is showing “the card is in its way” and “activate card” as the only option.

NO way to close that screen or do anything else than activate the card by entering the numbers.

    Not the best experience

It appears they have changed the process as per help files and now you need to activate the card before you can use the account.

I read on their forums a few weeks ago that it’s random and for security reasons. My wife (today) and myself (January) were able to add our cards to Apple Pay straight away after opening the account and waiting on the actual card to arrive.

I was able to add mine to Applepay as soon as I was approved little over 2 weeks ago, I am in the low 2000's users I think, my card arrived last week. I haven't used it yet though, I thought I would be able to send money to my son who lives in the UK and uses Monzo as his main banking app, but not yet it seems.

I've done a few foreign purchases (pounds) and I did get the MasterCard rate with no fees applied. Plus over Revolut is that there's no limit and no weekend difference. Downside is that you can't bank it when rate is very good unlike Revolut.

I'm somewhere in the 5000s and I was able to use the account before I received my physical card. I was thinking of closing my ptsb account and just using my monzo account and credit union account. If monzo doesn't work out, I could just get a current account with the credit union, and it still would work out cheaper at €4 over ptsb's €8.

Where do you see it? I don't think I've got it yet, can't find it anyway :)

In the bar that displays the balance, it also gives it in the 'Regular bank transfer' option under 'Add money'

just got registered today and had an IBAN immediately. Great, my graduate AIB account just ended and was about to start being charged fees so going to swap my salary over after a bit of testing!

It's interesting, SEPA instant to/from PTSB no problem.

SEPA instant to Revolut - no problem. SEPA instant from Revolut to Monzo - nope, security hold - standard processing.

Clearly Revolut knows that standard users might withdraw loads of cash

interesting, I did a test transfer of 20 euro from rev to Monzo and it was instant just now

edit: just did a large transfer of my savings across also, no problem

I did Revolut to Monzo last night and it was instant, too.

I'm considering using Monzo to replace Revolut for my day-to-day spending (much prefer the app layout on Monzo) and ultimatly replace PTSB

Intersting, not for me - it now even shows ariving tommorrow if I try.

I deleted the payee and added it again and still the same "arriving tommorrow".

So if this works for everyone else, than clearly revolut does not like me. Surprise…

I like the feature in Monzo where you can define one payee contact and than have multiple different accounts under that contact with individual names to have a clear overview. That is handy for ones own accounts.

Does anyone know when the business accounts are been released? Got a personal account last week and an IBAN this week, and so far all good, just wondering about the business accounts.

I’m starting to appreciate the simplicity and customer-focused design of the Monzo app for everyday banking.

There’s a small issue with account statements showing the savings account as “Pod” and double-counting totals in the transaction summary, but that’s likely due to how the statement is structured.

Payments in and out work smoothly, though I still can’t do SEPA instant from Revolut, even though others say they can.

I’m moving a direct debit over to see if there are advance notifications before the actual booking, which would be useful for spotting if a supplier isn’t sticking to the agreed amount or schedule.

Overall, it’s a solid early access experience.

No issues for me so far, anyway. It's replaced Revolut for my day to day spend

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 913 ✭✭✭_Godot_

So far the only issue I've had was that I sent €10 from monzo to revolut which took two hours to arrive, but the fact that that might happen is mentioned in the help section.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,391 ✭✭✭Yggr of Asgard

Future Direct Debits are shown in the transaction list with a "due in x days" and the amount so you can validate Direct Debits before they are deducted, nice feature (well bunq has that since years).

Brilliant. That €25 came in very handy for petrol. I then topped it the next day and started using it.

I was one of the first to join Revolut on here, N26 as well.

N26 is handy and I never had an issue. free business banking, but Revolut were a disaster and wouldn't apply a chargeback for a hotel that I booked and when I arrived, there was no rooms available.

I got stuck at the activate card screen. Annoying.
