An unfortunate mixup - how could it be that? You think the Kuwaitis were expecting Iranian jets, next it will be an Iranian warship docked off Kuwait! Obviously not every soldier in the Kuwaiti army supports the US. This is a threat to the colonialists and neocolonialists if it is more widespead in neighbouring armies.

So your point is Israel is commiting smaller scale genocide? It's still genocide though. I don't think anyone here is disputing the Rwandan genocide... So I'm not sure if this is the gotcha you think it is.

A military analyst on CNN last night confirmed what I had already assumed, which was when Tehran suffers a missile attack, they have a list of the "Usual Suspects", and so their runbooks say "Launch missiles against a couple of our enemies in the area", which is Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait. Presumeably the runbook doesn't have an entry stating "Target the US Navy aircraft carrier that is floating somewhere in the vicinity".

Ah, the children as terrorists argument again. Erase them all is that your position?

More people have been killed so far in the Gaza genocide than were in the Bosnian genocide

Israel is regarded by many western countries as a responsible country that is why them committing genocide is very different especially when they are so publicly doing it against a people with no army and no weapons and no food and no housing and no schools.

Gaza was completely destroyed by the terrorist state and its entire population displaced - that is certainly much worse than what happened in Yugoslavia in the 1990s.

Also, Yugoslavia was a series of insurgencies, ethnic conflicts and civil wars rather than a nihilistic colonial occupier seeking to 'put manners on' a people over which they had total control.

Following the embargo of US tankers transporting oil, a tanker was struck twice while loading oil in Bahrain Port. Ship has been evacuated and fires put out and no casualties reported. Big roars of laughter also reported coming from Venezuela and Cuba

It shows Trumps giant misunderstanding of Iran that he thought the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would weaken Iranian resolve and cause an uprising. His stupidity is costing American billions and worse still lives.

Not only does Israel have nukes which they lie about, they aren't party to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, nor do they allow IAEA inspectors in to check their safeguards.

Something that Iran was compliant with until Trump came along and fucked it all up. More than likely at the behest of Israel.

Hypocrisy isn't a strong enough word.

100% it was Israel that instructed Trump to abandon the 2015 JCPOA deal. Iran had agreed to limit uranium enrichment to 3%. The IAEA had extensive access to monitor. Some sanctions had been lifted. It was going well. When Trump withdrew in 2018 he was very vague about why he did so.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Greece sending its Navy to help protect Cyprus from Iranian attacks.

Its amazing that the Iranians have attacked the EU, yet some appear to be cheering them on.

You think it was an inside job?

    What is the evidence?

They wouldn't have attacked anyone if the US and Israel had left them alone, yet some appear to be cheering the aggressor on?

I'd like both sides to lose, and quickly, and leave the rest of us alone.

The West may well seriously regret hitching themselves to the rogue / pariah state of Israel in 2026. It's their worst foreign policy error of the last few decades……much, much worse than the invasion of Iraq in 2003. It could end up bringing down western governments.

Anyone poster who denies there is an ongoing genocide by the Israelis is best ignored on any thread related to Israel and Iran

The EU should just hand over Cyprus to the Iranians, for the sake of peace.

Trade land for peace. That what people tell us.

It's also actually a lie to say that "there are no non-military cases to enrich uranium to that level". Marine nuclear propulsion requires uranium to be enriched to much higher levels than 20%. At the moment most civilian vessels using it are icebreakers. But there are numerous countries researching its use as a way to move away from fossil fuels in the future.

European gas futures ripping to the largest daily rise since March 2022 after Qatar energy halted production. Currently up 47%, what a disaster !

Israeli gas already offline and soon Egypt also. Could be a bit of a problem coming.

Washington Post claims there are very serious tensions between the Pentagon and the orange clown - the latter doesn't seem to know what he is doing or to have any 'out' strategy for the war.

My point is the people were jumping up and down yesterday condemning Israel and the US without any promoting and now the bombings are being done by Iranians, no one has responded in the same way. It's utter hypocrisy.

It's a RAF base used by the US. Let's not pretend they attacked a school full of school girls in the EU and not a legitimate target being used by an aggressor against you.

It's also not really an EU target when it's a RAF base.

It's quite predictable, plus it's only day 2. Iranian military units are launching drones/rockets, etc because they've been told to do so beforehand. It's likely that as US/Israel hit more and more of these sites that this activity will die down.

All Trump wants is a cowed compliant Iran, he's betting that new leadership or the old regime will come onside. The remnants of the old regime are MUCH more scared of the Iranian populace than they are of Israel or the US - they've committed horrendous crimes/abuses over the decades, as such they are likely, if they can organise themselves, to cut a deal with Trump/Israel. It took the Venezuela regime 1 day to "bend the knee" (although that was a different situation)

The risk for Trump is that the internal situation in Iran spirals viciously and creates some sort of endless Syria style situation which wouldn't suit the US/Israel (not that either of them give a **** about the average Iranian caught up in this)

We are not in the Napoleonic Era and, frankly, kings tended to spend more time back then studying war than they do these days. Even the Royals around Europe with modern military experience tend to be pulled from danger when close to the throne.

US doctrine, at least, teaches that there are four elements of national power, military is only one. We do not require that a leader is experienced at all four before they are used. It is rare that any individual is experienced at more than two of them.

As to Cyprus, just what is a single drone hitting the runway at Akrotiri supposed to achieve? Other than annoy people.

Indeed, it's an attack on the British / US military, not 'on Cyprus' - the airfield is effectively British territory.

    From the Guardian:

"A joint statement from Gulf states and the US strongly condemned Iran’s “indiscriminate and reckless missile and drone attacks” across the region, which they warned threaten regional stability"

Bit rich coming from Israel and the US.

Would you go way outta that…

You talking about “utter hypocrisy” is a bit rich, to be honest.

For the past two years you’ve defended virtually every Israeli action with cries of “Israel has a right to defend itself,” regardless of the civilian toll. When schools, apartment blocks or hospitals were hit, you either denied wrongdoing completely or claimed it as “Hamas infrastructure” and moved on.

Now you’re suddenly concerned about consistency because people aren’t reacting in exactly the way you think they should to Iranian strikes.

if Iran is targeting civilians, that’s wrong. Deliberately hitting civilian areas is wrong whether it’s done by Iran, Israel, the US, or anyone else. No one should be excusing that.

But you don’t get to spend two years minimising or justifying civilian deaths when Israel does it, and then suddenly discover your outrage when the roles are reversed. If “right to defend itself” is a universal principle, then it applies universally. and if targeting civilians is unacceptable, then it is unacceptable universally too.

The issue isn’t that people won’t condemn Iran. The issue is that posters are tired of the clear double standards espoused by posters like yourself. If you’re genuinely concerned about hypocrisy, it might be worth reflecting on whether you’ve applied the same standards consistently over the past two years.

You’ve also openly admitted in the other thread that you don’t even read the responses to your posts. You have a history of dropping deliberately inflammatory posts (calling it Judea and Samaria, "so called Palestinians" was another one) in the other thread, ignore rebuttals, disappear when challenged, and then reappear later as if none of the counter-arguments were ever made. It is beyond tiring at this stage.
