It's a highly respected annual report.

The list of agencies that contribute to it is here: United States Intelligence Community - Wikipedia

The United States Intelligence Community is overseen by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), which is headed by the Director of national intelligence who reports directly to the president of the United States.

Buy get this, there were some updates after the 2025 threat assessment. Let me lay them out for you here…

13 June 2025: Israel start bombing Iranian nuclear facilities. They did so for 12 days.

22 June 2025: USA join the fight and bomb 3 Iranian nuclear sites.

22 June 2025: Trump declares "Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated"

July 2025: Trump says "It knocked out their entire potential nuclear capacity."

September 2025: Trump again…"But I also obliterated Iran’s nuclear hopes, by totally annihilating their enriched uranium."

October 2025: Trump…"Well, they don’t have a nuclear program. It was obliterated.”

November 2025: Trump...yawn…"It was called Iran and its nuclear capability, and we obliterated that very quickly and strongly and powerfully."

8 January 2026: Guess who…"We knocked out the Iran nuclear threat, and it was obliterated"

13 February 2026: Trump…"…achieving total obliteration of the Iran nuclear potential capability — totally obliterated."

28 February 2026: It looks like we are obliterating again. Netanyahu is calling shots again.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

“American soldiers in coffins definitely isn't his aim.”

Well in his broadcast speech the other night he did mention that there would be American casualties- even before there were American casualties- which is very strange in my view. It’s as if he’s trying to smooth over relations with voters and anticipate objections to his actions before they arise- a cynical move in my view and an aggressive tactic - it shows he doesn’t care- American casualties are a minor inconvenience to him, and in his mind he’s “dealt” with that.

Starting to look very messy already for the Americans and Israelis. Yes they're doing a lot of targeted damage to Iran as is expected. But the cost is already growing , damage to their offshoot colonies in the desert in Dubai etc , saudi oil refinery hit, american deaths, strikes in Israel, strait of hormuz and oil tankers hit.

Depending on their stockpiles of Air defence and how much public and political pressure Trump and Satanyahu can withstand , the costlier the Iranians make it the more chance the regime has to survive and it would be a major humiliation for the US and Israel

Any act of aggression by America is a “special military operation” - it’s not a war- according to America - they have outlawed the use of the term “war” when covering their military escapades- ironic considering they have a department of war.

How can you even countenance this thought when some Arab regimes believe in the total eradication of the Jewish state?

Israel is not a responsible military power. Launching a war against Iran was suicidal as their finding out.

I have not seen posts hoping or wanting for people to die in gaza.
Go find some if you disagree.

I have asked the same question for the last year, and not one person has had a rational explanation.
    Why? Because there is none.

Has anyone noticed that overnight Iran attacked an EU member state, that member state being Cyprus?
Yet Iran are the good guys? Just like Russia I guess..

How so? Do you think calling me anti-Semitic is gonna shut down the conversation?

    https://www.middleeasteye.net/explainers/what-greater-israel

Here's a good article explaining it.

Also don't forget the IDF soldier with a literal Greater Israel badge on them..

And do you think all those Bibi clips are anti-Semitic AI forgeries?

    Very torn.

On one hand im delighted for Iranians. To them it's like us being freed from Cromwell.

Close friends there and they overjoyed.

But the agenda from Israel and USA is one of greed and they could not care less for Iran.

One other thing. Seeing Irish people calling Iranian people online west brits is some irony by the accusers.

You can be happy for Iranians but at same time condem the motives of their new found friends

Trump has gone underground since his pre-recorded video from last Friday. Time is against him as the costs from the war become more apparent in higher oil prices etc. If Iran can provoke people uprisings in neighbouring countries, and prevent one at home, then the war will have been a disaster for the US. Uprisings in those countries would be exactly what Israel wants so that they can begin to attack and expand their “kingdom” into them.

How long can the US and Israel and Europe depend on animosity between Shia and Sunni to prevent greater coherence across the region?

The murder of Ali Khamenei in his home will have made him a martyr. His murder may have been a big own goal by the US and Israel. Arab uprisings would be a big wedge in strategic objectives between Israel and the US. Meanwhile Russia will benefit from the change in attention span by the colonialists and neocolonialists.

Yet... so you acknowledge the list...

Time.... you know that thing that goes in Linear fashion. Starting with with

    1. Iran were in full compliance with the JCPOA
    2. Trump tore up that agreement for no good reasons and then placed sanctions on Iran

We may get an answer to number 3 in there....

Qatar are joining Saudi in the fight it seems, they are getting sick of being targeted and want to chip in, to defend themselves.
This after the UK, France and Germany also vowed to join in defence operations.

Iran, how to lose friends and alienate people.

Some wishful thinking gone into that post.

Iran is now a pariah in the region, attacking neighbours and allies.

The Iranian people want rid of the regime, a brutal repressive one that attracts love and attention from the Irish left.

You honestly think that Israel wants to conquer half of Egypt, Iraq, Syria, and half of Saudi Arabia, along with Jordan and Lebanon? You really believe that?

If so, why did Israel give back the Sinai?

Just remember, most of this fury is because Hamas/Hezbollah/Houthi's Sugar Daddy is taking a hell of a beating, the Chinese and Russian Weapons systems are hot garbage (as if Ukraine hadn't proven it already), so the illusion of Iran as a world power that could topple Israel has been shattered.

Funny how no one is condemning Iran for targeting civilians in the wider ME, yet an Iranian school was hit and Iran were the victims of a heinous attack. I suppose some still think Iran are the good guys.

There is little hope this ends in 2-3 weeks, the US is active in every one of Iran's neighbours at this stage

Day 3 of Roaring Fury or whatever it's called and no sign it's achieving its main stated objective 'regime change'.

Is anyone asking whether MM is going ahead with his visit to the WH in a couple of week's time?

It would be incredible if it did while U.S. was in breach of UN Charter.

Can you point out where anyone has said that Iran are the good guys?

I seem to be reading it a lot from people claiming other's are saying and thinking it.

There can be wrong on all sides, this isn't a wrestling match where it's good guy vs bad guy.

Air superiority was achieved in about 36 hours. Last time it took 3-4 days.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,214 ✭✭✭wildgreen

Oh, have the people risen up as Netanyahu and Trump ordered them to, can you post a link to this latest Arab Spring revolt?

I presume its inevitable now that the price of petrol at the pump will skyrocket?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,323 ✭✭✭✭markodaly

    I agree.

If Israel were getting the pounding that Iran is currently getting, there could be a lot of loud cheers and joy by many.

Remember the wonder weapons the Iranians got from the Chinese? Where are they? Those lads are very quiet these days.

    Reality is a great leveller.

Shia and Sunni have been killing each other for the last 1400 years, if America and Israel left them alone there would still be war in the middle east
