Have Now working on my Gen3 Xiaomi for those interested. Not compatible with my 2’s.

Playing UHD again like my Roku is getting errors. Not pushed tbh as Sky Sports with regular Boost is more than good.

    Great boxes these Xiaomi Gen3

NowTV have a very small list of devices compatible with UHD. They won't play if not approved for each device

What video format are you outputting the Mi Box? Your Roku & Mi Box issue sound the exact same so I might guess you are forcing HDR or Dolby Vision output at all times. Should also be set to 50Hz as that's refresh rate, broadcast frequency for Europe live TV.

I must be doing something wrong - incidentally same settings works for Peacock 4K last night for Leeds v City via their official app.

    Weird

That message in your first photo is the one you get with non approved device.

If you go to Sky Sports Main Event, it will play but only in HD as that channel has a fall back mode to play in HD is UHD doesn't work. The DOG or graphic in top corner is the way to tell. If it doesn't say ' Sky Sport UHD Main Event' it's playing in HD only.

Same for TNT Sports Ultimate. It's like Sky Sports UHD 1 & 2. Won't play if device isn't certified

Ah thats making sense, I shall revert to just reg boost.

    Thanks

after some research seems like channels 5-10 on discovery plus aren’t on tnt sports on sports extra on now tv

holy cow they’ve made it complicated

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,656 ✭✭✭geographica

    @flazio

Why? It’s on tnt sports 5 which apparently is only on Discovery plus so all good, at least I know now

Discovery Plus in Ireland doesn't include sports. Sky & NowTV are the sole providers of their channels here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,656 ✭✭✭geographica

so it’s sky sports extra that’s needed to watch tnt sports 5-10

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 8,859 ✭✭✭ongarite

No, TNT Sports 5-10 aren't available in Ireland.

TNT/Discovery have pulled out of irish sports market & didn't launch their new Discovery+ service here.

Ask the small but distraught Eurosport Irish viewers who are now with no official way to watch in Ireland.

The only reason TNT Sports 1-4 is still available on Sky/NowTV Is through existing contract obligations.

Not necessarily, if for example it's a Champions League match, it might be on RTÉ, Virgin Media or Premier Sports. Irish rights can differ from UK rights.

    This too shall pass.

yes but if you re read my post 🤷🏼‍♂️

    anyway

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,094 ✭✭✭✭flazio

Ok fine, in general, if TNT advertise something on TNT 5 or beyond it is NOT available on any Now TV platform or tier.

However usually it is available elsewhere without having to resort to forking out more for Discovery Plus.

    This too shall pass.

TNT extra is available via Red Button on satellite and on certain devices we can’t discuss here unfortunately. Only for certain sports too will the Red Button appear via Sky in ROI.

I get the same message sometimes on my Chromecast 4K, the workaround for me when it happens is to go to settings and change to one of the lower 1080 options, watch SSN and then go back into settings and choose 4K. It seems to happen if the power is disconnected to the device

Anyone got any Ultra Boost codes? Mine is going to end next month. On €5 a month but had noticed a post here where someone mentioned having it at €5 permanently.

I've not tried cancelling it yet to see if they'll give me another 6 months offer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,236 ✭✭✭wassie

On €5 a month but had noticed a post here where someone mentioned having it at €5 permanently.

That was myself - I was 'grandfathered' into it.

When Ultra Boost was first introduced, anyone on the original Boost membership was automatically upgraded free of charge for the remainder of their plan. Then the offer was made for a permanent discount of €3/m off Ultra Boost plan for as long as I maintain Ultra Boost membership. If I drop it or downgrade I lose the discount.

Have a 65" OLED and 7.1 Sonos surround system, so getting 4K HDR & Atmos is important to me.

I'm paying €8 per month for Ultra HD. I'm confused is this full price?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,321 ✭✭✭Ohmeha

That code NOWSPXDFJJUA €15 per month is for Sports Extra (TNT/Premier Sports) not Sports (Sky Sports)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,321 ✭✭✭Ohmeha

    Yes that's full price

Ultra Boost full price = €8

    Boost full price = €5

I had been on boost for 6 months at 3 euro a month, then switched to boost ultra for one month at 8 euro. Went to cancel that and was offered boost ultra at 5 euro a month for a 6 month contract. Thats one way of getting it.

Go ahead and cancel your boost ultra and see do you get the same offer.
