Maybe the opposite plans would have been worse?

The leader of Syria was until recently a wanted isis member. Iran fought ISIS so the Sunnis there may not be friendly towards Iran...

Iran learning the hard way, that Putin is not their friend, he was just using them for drones .

I thought Trump abandoned the plan last month as Iran didn’t behead 800 prisoners?

That was his excuse for abandoning the protesters.

Now he thinks they will trust him to help them??

False. He was Al-Queda. Not great either - all those Sunni Jihadis are bad news - but lets not pretend the CRINKs and their allies are any better. I doubt the Ukrainians whose children are being murdered by Russo-Iranian drones are that worried about ISIS, for example.

A commodity chart of global exports from the Gulf. With the Red sea also closed certain things are going to become very very expensive. Especially in regions where these things are not produced.

He didn't want a leak potentially giving Iran a heads up. I doubt the supreme leader would have gone to the meeting if so.

Another nail in thr coffin of the US economy. Print billions more to cover the cost of this war, devalue the dollar further. Create even more resentment and distrust. If Trumps sole intention was to destroy America he would definitely be the bestest inthe whole world at that.

Imagine Taiwan, Japan and Korea and others in Asia. They don't have oil & gas, all is imported and 80% of Gulf oil goes to Asia

The spike in energy prices could but the trouble in the US goes way deeper than that. The last thing that economy needed was another war. The cost of war sank Rome, it sank the British empire and now its nearly done with the US.

At least Iran has decades of having elected government and millennia of history with a educated and cultured population, that hopefully saves it from the faith of other nations "liberated" by the US.

Do you think Trump thought of the very worst case scenario, or listened if he was told ?

Rioters trying to burn down US consulate in Karachi with 8 shot dead. Also mass riots at Lahore US consulate with hundreds storming another consulate.

With the death of the Ayatollah it also means the death of the decades long Fatwa against nuclear weapons and a new policy will be undertaken by the new one who takes over.

How exactly do you envision this “fun” will occur? Why is potential murder of neutral civilian shipping “fun”??

What can the Iranian regime whose leadership was decapitated on the first day {probably literally too} do? Throw rocks at passing ships??

    IMG_6625.jpeg

I mentioned it earlier but attacking residential areas in gulf states away from military installations was a major strategic mistake {the first mistake was wanting a world without rules and meeting someone even more ruthless as your ideology} that this regime has made, now all of the militaries in the Gulf whom have sizeable modern military capabilities and manpower will work like hell to ensure nothing can move from the direction of the Iranian shore

I suspect that the straights at closed but to Shipping heading in and out Iran which would be catastrophic to whoever is left to fight over the throne there as the economy is already on its knees

I have heard the idiot talk. Sure the US political system is a basket case. He is ambassador for Israel now which says it all. Nasty piece of work. My stance is that all religions are man made nonsense and cause nothing but strife. They are now only used to coerce and control. It should be nowhere near power. Do I think Netanyahu believes a word of the Torah? Not at all. He just uses religion to achieve his goals.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

It’s a good stance, but just like nuclear weapons religion unfortunately is not going away either

Well here's the thing I don't really get is why now? The congress election is in November so will not help for that (to far away to drive up the patriotic war bump) as he's likely to go lame duck after it. As distraction for the Epstein files it's going to be to short term effect and not correlated (i.e. being a "strong alpha male" is not going to protect against people calling out people in his cabinet etc.) and the Epstein files have shown to have legs to go well beyond this distraction (see Maduro arrest). His claim of Iran being able to attack is somewhat true but they had ballistic missiles for donkey years and if they could reach Europe (let alone use them against Europe) it would give him a much better position to attack after they were used (as he'd automatically rally Europe behind him if they were ever launched). Israel always wanted a fight with Iran but once again he had the whole "rebuild of Gaza with my billions in bribes peace board" deal there instead to fill his pockets.

So once again I return to the question; why now? Why not wait until let's say September or October to do it? Not like Iran would suddenly have drastically improved missiles or nuclear options by then yet it would work better for the Congress election, it would allow him to draw out and ramp up the whole "evil Iran don't want to negotiate with me" spiel if he wanted distractions (and no, I don't believe he'd care anything about the protests because those have already failed). As already shown the existing leadership in Iran has already stepped up and said they will "stab the USA in the heart" as revenge etc. and the military is still in power. Nothing has been achieved from a regime change perspective; nor will it without boots on the ground which will never happen; not even Trump is that stupid. If you believe it will I'll simply point to Hamas as a great example and the kill list Israel achieved is far greater when it comes to leaders over time yet nothing has changed in attitude.

The most worrying thing IMO is the media repeating American talking points.

Like the Guardian's Obituary on Khamenei.

Thus his rule had a direct impact on much of the region, and under his leadership the Islamic Republic of Iran became one of the world’s biggest state sponsors of terrorism.

Might be an argument for another day, but as you stated, many pose as religious to an end. I think many think that if religion was gone things would be better off. I'm not so sure, I think it would be more or less the same with another banner of meaning instead like nationalism.
