Hard to believe this is the second last day of February.

And the weather seems to be FINALLY picking up, especially looking at the forecast.

I may have just bought some decorations.

Newbridge silverware is having a sale 50% off some decorations.

My tree is mostly newbridge so I'm not going to refuse a reduction. Also I find they make great little gifts, as a thank you or if invited to a gathering a small gift along with chocs or a bottle or whatever for the host. .....so yeah I got 2 of everything 😂

Had that today. Needed the rain coat because it did rain, but when it wasn’t raining, it was sweltering with it on

Ended up with it rammed in my backpack and just tolerating the drizzle.

Very, very briefly felt like proper Spring around midday.

Brilliant, I would go a step further and say until end May in Ireland!

I was in my office today for the first time in like a year. No one would go for a post work pint. Where’s the Christmas spirit ? 😂

If attendance is that rare, was there anyone actually there to ask?

My place was so quiet today, the lights in the stairwell (shared between tenants) had gone in to dim mode by the time I left, let alone most of our floor being dark.

Nearly everyone does Monday and Friday from home, but I have always been entirely OK with being in the office on Friday - and it often means I'm basically there alone!

I’m very jealous of all of ye hybrid people. We are 5 days a week in office and have been for years again.

I was 1 day a week from home, compulsory, in 2016. Lack of desk space. Been available since long before the pandemic if you looked for it.

I see all the non Christmas threads are gone again... definitely gives a bit of a spring clean vibe to the place.

Yeah my team were in. The office is quite busy usually. It’s there if we want it. I just never go in

Lovely day today. Sun shining and a full line of clothes to market the last day of meteorological winter. Speaking of weather, very sad to see the passing away of M.T. Cranium during the week. 😔

Yes devastated about MT in the weather forum. An absolute boards legend and extremely knowledgeable and a gentleman as well. A massive loss for all weather lovers.

I'm so upset about M T. I know it seems mad as I didn't know him, but I joined the monthly forecast during Covid lockdown and I was hooked every month trying to predict the weather. So sad especially today as end of month and we would be rushing to get in our forecasts!

He was a legend, rest in peace MT wherever you may be.

Always feel the 66 days from 365 to 299 are equal to the 299 to 200 or 199 to 100... what with Jan and Feb usually lasting an age.

I think the days 299-200 and 199-100 have more in them than the first 66. Easter, paddy’s day, summer holidays keeps us busy during those periods and the days begin to fly by.

Exactly, the first 2 months of the year are (biddy banker aside) just bland and miserable. Makes them feel far longer than the other periods of the year as they have some highlights. For me getting out of the 300s is a significant milestone.

Just catching up - in relation to the vaccines I never knew there was a CP one - must look to see if it’s now included. I had the MMR as a child and when I went to start my fertility treatment in 2019 they said I needed a Rubella booster as I wasn’t immune. For the booster and when I went for more treatment in 2025 they said the same thing! So yet another booster. When I had the baby and they done my blood work it showed I am still not immune!

Delighted to finally see some clear sky’s and brighter evenings! Got to bring the baby for a nice walk in her pram the other day and then she slept for 4 hours 🤣🤣

@Jude13 just wanted to check in and make sure you are all ok?

@kitten_k hey there, all good thank god. We had pals round with their kids for a roast lunch Saturday then the government alerts sounded on our phone. They are like air raid sirens, full blast even if your phone is on silent.

We didn't think much of it, not the first time we have had these in our time in the M.E., usually nothing happens. Then loads of whatsapp videos of rockets in the sky near us, and a huge boom as missile was intercepted which we watched from our back garden. Tried to tell the kids it was fireworks which they bought until about 2am. Rinse repeat for the night, windows in the house violently shaking from interception blasts, like shooting stars in the sky. We slept in the hall on mattresses to keep away from the windows.

Seems to have calmed down, there was a lot of black smoke from impacts/debris, a lot more than is on the news.

Not long after I typed that our youngest asked could she go into the garden, we havent heard anything since about 1am so thought it was fine. As we walked out with her there was a huge bang over us, she was like a scalded cat back inside, poor thing. Then two more blasts, likely intercepts. Anyway, hopefully its not the new norm.
