They’re right. Monday is a bank holiday

hi. Sorry to break it to you but yes you will fail if above 30. My advise is get cracking on it now. They will give you a few months to get it down. Realistically you could get it down in about 2 weeks if you really push yourself hard

Hi all, I passed my PCT and done my drug test on Saturday just gone. I also completed my medical and passed in my form B last week. Do they normally email you confirming your success in the PCT the Monday / Tuesday?

Hi everyone, anyone have tips for the interview in regards to what role play is like and the main interview. Feeling more nervous this time round for it but hoping I’ll be fine 🤞🏻

Just keep calm for the role play. They want to see how you reach under a bit of pressure. As for the interview, they want you to sell yourself. Just make sure you have examples for the list of criteria they have and you should be grand

Spare a taught for the ones that finished traning in Templemore, only to discover that they are stuck in limbo because of vetting issues.

Unable to take up their roles in the diffrent stations they have been asigned to.

This im sure caused some Red faces.

No one seems to be able to give any answers on the vetting issues .

There has been dozens of parlimentary questions to the Minister for Jusice on that very issue.

To make things even more complicated there is another recuritment campaign due to start this year.

This is actually fake news. Everyone who attested in February had vetting completed and are now in their stations. A couple of people failed vetting late in the phase and unfortunately could not complete their training.

Personally I would not take the chance again with a conditional offer.

does anyone know what people have failed vetting on? Such as is it crimes committed by themselves or their connections or just things that have been omitted from the form b? Surely they can’t discriminate against people who’s relatives have records

Did you have an issue after you excepted the conditional offer and started training.

    Anyone receive any offers recently?

I had no issues, but a very stressful time waiting for the email saying vetting was completed especially when you see a couple of people get the emails saying they've not cleared vetting and their training is over.

Could be any issue... all depends on what relatives are involved in. People don't get told the reason their vetting isn't cleared either.

Do they actually email you when vetting is completed,i had station interview in Oct he was signing everything off his end but i still havent heard if vetting is completed, surely its finished when they sign off, 1 minor driving incident from family member that was it,he said was minor and signing off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9 Inspector Morse2026

Yes, they email you when it's all done. I had my station interview in November 2024, didn't get vetting completed email until October 2025.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 191 ✭✭Paddy 42

So have you completed your training now or are you still waiting to start in Templemore?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 46 cookie43

Oh that is a joke, surely the main things are done when you go to station interview,i cant understand the process at all

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9 Inspector Morse2026

No, I finished traning recently but it was a stressful time waiting for the confirmation email that vetting was completed.

Does anybody know how to get a Police Clearance Cert for 6+ months living in the USA?

I've been asked for this as part of the vetting process and have no idea having done some searches. Hopefully someone has done it!!

Is that something you would need to get from wherever you lived in the states? Something from a local station basically saying you didn't get into trouble. Maybe you could go to your own closest station here in Ireland and explain what you need. They might be able to help ya out

yes go onto the U.S mission Ireland you’ll have to print off a fingerprint form fill it out and then you go to your local Garda station with identification and they will book you in for your fingerprints and then you send it off in the post they give you the address on the form / email, I’ve done it twice before, it can take approx. 2-3 to come back they are usually fast

When did you do your medical, PCT and form b Don? Interested to see how long you were waiting for an offer as I'm all done since last Saturday

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 46 Don96

I am from the 2024 intake so it can all take time, I did get previous offers but due to circumstances I couldn’t take but I remember getting an offer after doing my PCT and Form B etc in January 2025 by March 2025 I was offered but again my family were very small a lot deceased so my vetting etc was quiet quick

From what I’ve been told some applicants are getting in pending vetting at the minute due to the need for numbers with vetting usually completed in phase 3 shortly before attestation. Hopefully it means some of us will be in the May intake, ive the fitness test tomorrow, fingers crossed!

I'm in pending vetting. Applied day before deadline in Oct, came in the 90s after exam, physical the week before Christmas, offered Feb intake but deferred as I'm in a different job, then offered May so going into May intake.
