Just in case any of ye missed this story....

"In the spring of 2024, Republican representative. Tony Gonzales was in the midst of a bruising primary campaign, fighting to hang onto his seat. But politics was not on his mind when he began trading text messages with a staff member at 12:15 a.m. on May 9.

'Send me a sexy pic,' he texted Regina Ann Santos-Aviles, then director of his regional district office in Uvalde.

Santos-Aviles replied that she’d had a rough week and 'you don't really want a hot picture of me.'

'Yes I do,' Gonzales texted, adding, 'Hurry.'"

    The affair became public.

    She later died via suicide.

The Democrats are calling for him to resign. Speaker Johnson is backing him, as are a lot of other Republicans.

Elect a clown... Expect a circus

It`s not a large threatening ground force though, and I would doubt if there are many in Iran who believe that Trump would send troops to aid them if there was an uprising. He didn`t do anything to help with the recent protest, and if anyone there thinks he would then they have only to look next door at Iraq where Bush Sn. encouraged people there to rise up against Saddam Hussein and then did nothing as they were slaughtered.

As long as the Republican Guard stay loyal to this regime there will be no regime change and the Republican Guard know who is buttering their turnips. They wont be sitting around in a few barracks in large numbers waiting to be bombed. They will be spread around the country to quickly put down any uprising that may occur, and on past history, something they are very adapt at.

Iran is no Venezuela where the U.S. can send in a few helicopter loads of troops and kidnap the leader. The last time they tried something similar was during the embassy hostage crisis and that was a disaster. Even if they did manage to do it I cannot see what it would achieve. When it comes to Ayatollahs Iran is not going to run short because one was kidnapped or killed.

So I do not see, and I very much doubt Iran can either, Trump and Hegseth, as mad as both may be, sending in ground troops with a likelihood of high casualty rates, for which he would lose many of his MAGA base, how the U.S. can do much of anything to force a regime change to their liking in Iran.

A pity in a way. But then Trump & co. hadn`t many options other than fold the tent as I imagine the first item on the defense list was the video of the second strike to kill off those two survivors clinging to a wrecked boat, which despite Trump and Hegseth`s bluster is the only way any members of the public will get to see it while those two bozos are in power.

On a slightly related topic, I see that former Prime Minister of Norway, Thorbjorn Jagland, has been hospitalised following an alleged suicide attempt. Apparently an investigation had recently begun into corruption and other ties to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

This also ties in with the orange clown because Jagland was chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee making Donny's prize pitentially even less likely.

I'd rather a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy

A guy spots a sign outside a house that reads “Talking Dog for Sale.” Intrigued, he walks in.

“So what have you done with your life?” he asks the dog.

“I’ve led a very full life,” says the dog. “I lived in the Alps rescuing avalanche victims. Then I served my country in Iraq. And now I spend my days reading to the residents of a retirement home.”

The guy is flabbergasted. He asks the dog’s owner, “Why on earth would you want to get rid of an incredible dog like that?”

The owner says, “Because I'm sick of the non-stop lying."

If I was in charge of the U.S National Intelligence groupage, I'd be keeping a very close eye on it's main ally in the Mid East to make sure Benny didn't try to irritate Iran into doing something silly, giving him a Casus Belli as a response and drag the U.S into a regional conflict the U.S and the world doesn't want or need. Benny and a lot of his coalition don't think along the lines of Western countries where it comes to international politics. Lets say some of them agree with von Clausewitz interpretation of war:

"War is not merely an act of policy but a true political instrument, a continuation of political intercourse carried  on with other means."

Regarding judicial appointments, so far Trump (or the Senate) seems to be prioritising district court nominees, unlike the Circuit Courts of Appeals. In his first term he prioritised the Circuit Courts of Appeals.

Edit: It seems likely thats because few judges are retiring so far.

List of federal judges appointed by Donald Trump - Wikipedia

Under the Blue Slip Rule, which is a custom rather than a Senate rule, a Senator can block consideration of a nominee. This has resulted in liberal circuits (circuits are collections of states under a Circuit Court) tending to have liberal judicial outcomes, and the opposite for conservative ones. However, some conservative states are in liberal circuits e.g. Montana is part of the 9th Circuit which includes California, and vice versa e.g. Minnesota is part of an extremely conservative circuit and all but 1 judge on the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals are Republican appointees.

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) who is in his 90's was chair of the judiciary committee in Trumps first term. He did not always abide by the Blue Slip Rule. This resulted in the two thirds liberal majority on the 9th Circuit reducing to a majority of 3. This results sometimes in conservatives winning the 3 judge panels that rule before a case gets to the full court (called an En Banc hearing). But the way it works in the 9th Circuit is controversial because instead of all judges being present in an En Banc hearing, two thirds are. The 2nd Circuit, which includes New York, now has 6 liberals and 5 conservatives, excluding the semi-retired (Senior Status) judges who sometimes sit on panels. There are 2 Carter appointees on the court with Senior Status.

The Third Circuit Court of Appeals, which has jurisdiction in Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, now has a conservative majority of 8-6 following 2 Trump appointees (including Emil Bove). During his time as a top DOJ official under President Donald Trump, a former DOJ attorney (Erez Reuveni) alleged that Bove advocated for the Department of Justice to ignore judicial orders blocking deportation flights of undocumented immigrants, reportedly saying the DOJ would need to tell courts “f— you.” Critics argued this showed a willingness to set aside the rule of law. Bove and the DOJ deny these claims. After he was confirmed and began serving as a federal judge, a judicial watchdog group (Fix the Court) filed a formal ethics complaint because Bove attended a political rally for President Trump. Federal judicial canons generally require judges to avoid political activity or the appearance of partiality, and critics say his attendance could undermine public confidence in judicial impartiality.

On the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals (jurisdiction Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland and West Virginia), there is a 9-6 liberal majority.

United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit - Wikipedia

United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit - Wikipedia

Current vacancies on the Circuit Courts of Appeal and the current balance of the court. Note that Senior Status (semi retired) judges do not normally sit on the full court but do sit on panels that rule before it gets to the full court.

    • 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals: Debra Ann Livingston, a Bush appointee (born 1959) is taking Senior Status. Trump hasn't yet nominated a replacement.
    • 3rd Circuit: None.
    • 4th Circuit (includes Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland and South Carolina): None.
    • 5th Circuit (includes Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi) the conservatives have a 12-5 majority. It has no vacancies and Trump hasnt made appointments to it in his second term.
    • 6th Circuit: (Includes Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan and Tennessee), there is one vacancy as Jeffrey Sutton, a Bush appointee, is taking Senior Status (semi retirement). Trump has not nominated a replacement yet.
    • 7th Circuit: None. This used to be a conservative court but Biden appointed 5 judges to it so its now 5-5, and there are no vacancies.
    • 8th Circuit (includes Arkansas, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and North Dakota). There is 1 vacancy as Duane Benton, a Bush appointee, is retiring. Trump has nominated Justin D Smith to replace him. This already has a 10-1 conservative majority.
    • 9th Circuit (includes California, Arizona, Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii). No vacancies at moment. This circuit is 20% of the US population. It currently has a 16-13 liberal majority of 3. Trump has appointed one judge (Eric Tung) to it in 2025.
    • 10th Circuit (includes Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah and Wyoming). 1 vacancy. This court has a 7-5 liberal majority. Timothy Tymokovych, a Bush appointee, is taking semi retirement (Senior Status). Trump has not yet nominated a replacement.
    • 11th Circuit (includes Florida, Alabama and Georgia). No vacancies. Has a 7-5 conservative majority.

Trump SOTU speech livestream. Returns dozens of Democrats will boycott it (perhaps 30-50). Also several Epstein victims have been invited to the SOTU as guests by Democrats.

Sky News were saying that Donald Trump holds the record for the longest State of the Union address, at 1:39:32. And they were saying that there's a rumour that this one could be 2 hours. 😱

Now, I know Trump loves himself, loves talking about himself, loves praising himself and a good ramble, but there's no way it'll be that long. 🥱 😴 💤

I was thinking about whether his 🚼 could hold that much 💩.

Right, this thing has started at 2:12AM.

"This is the golden age of America." - DT

Trumpty says "America is the hottest country anywhere in the world."

That could be due to climate change, but Trump doesn't believe in climate change.

I've heard of resting Bitch face, but JD Vance seems to have a permanent frown face. Maybe he's having trouble keeping up?

He really does have a peculiar way of talking. "Very great" and "very tremendous". Something can't be very tremendous. It's either tremendous or it isn't.

It's like Joey in Friends giving the acting classes. "If I want to appear as though I've gotten bad news, I try to divide 143 by 23 in my head". Thats what JD looks like.
