One SCOTUS "victory" done, next one coming up; birth-right citizenship.

Trump predicted that they will similarly strike down a January 2025 executive order purporting to ban the children of many immigrants from gaining citizenship under a century-old interpretation of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

“The next thing you know they will rule in favor of China and others, who are making an absolute fortune on Birthright Citizenship, by saying the 14th Amendment was NOT written to take care of the ‘babies of slaves,’ which it was as proven by the EXACT TIMING of its construction, filing, and ratification, which perfectly coincided with the END OF THE CIVIL WAR,”

He added that the nine-member court — with his own appointees making up a third of the panel— would “find a way to come to the wrong conclusion, one that again will make China, and various other Nations, happy and rich.”

“Let our supreme court keep making decisions that are so bad and deleterious to the future of our Nation - I have a job to do,” he added. He also explained his refusal to properly capitalize the court’s title as a result of his “based on a complete lack of respect” for the court since their decision against him.

One thing SCOTUS has done for the U.S is make him change his typing style, no more capital letters when he wants to vent on some victim.

+1, the US cannot undertake a ground invasion of Iran.
Not just because of the relative paucity of US infantry forces in the ME but also because the size of Iran would mean that "success" would require an enormous force to even have hope of success but, also because the US doesn't have the troops numbers available to do it.
Yes they would win a war and could likely win a ground engagement with Iran.
They could not however win that war and impose a peace and a chosen government.

Look to Iraq for an inkling as to what would happen, Iran is 3 times the size and as troublesome as the post victory insurgency was in Iraq?
In Iran it would IMHO be orders of magnitude worse.

Declaring a victory similar to Bush's "Mission Complete" does seem a photo op that Don would love!
But? Much like the Iraqi aftermath of that declaration, any Iranian aftermath would be soaked in US blood.

PS: Thanks for the Pope/Pape correction.
Mayhap I should get myself an eye test 😉

No problem. Agreed, there will never be a ground invasion of Iran. The US have learned those lessons elsewhere in ME. Iran is 3.77 times the size of Iraq and is a natural fortress with mountain ranges on all sides protecting it's heartland. Add to that the deserts and rugged coastlines. Many of their missile facilities and uranium enrichment bunkers are deep underground which will frustrate the US and Israeli attack force. Trump did say he destroyed them last June. Perhaps only Maverick and Goose's son can complete the job...don't think, just do.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

I cannot decide if Iranian nuclear capability makes the world more or less stable. I'm thinking more stable right now.

Maybe Trump could send a force to capture and commandeer a Hospital Boat from some s-hole country with a Navy and drive it to Iceland?

I thought the Danish/Greenlandic suggestion that Trump should captain the ship himself was a good idea. Keep him out of mischief and it would be very unlikely to get there. Not that there is much chance of a hospital ship showing up in Greenland anyway.

If the U.S. bombing of Iran`s nuclear sites with the biggest and bestist bombs a few months ago didn`t even put a dent in them, then isn`t doing the same again hoping for a different result the definition of insanity ?

Trump is eager to bomb somewhere or anywhere hoping to distract from Epstein and his poll ratings, and his warrior prince Hegseth doesn`t see why they should have all those munitions sitting around when they could be making big bangs somewhere on the planet. But both their problems and the Pentagon`s is what to bomb that will have any effect and would not leave them with another Gaza by killing thousands of civilians. That would not be a good look for the newly minted emperor of peace.

Afghanistan was bombed until there were barely two stones standing on top of each other and flooded with troops to achieve sweet fcuk all. The Iranian`s and everyone else knows there will be no ground invasion, so what does the U.S. hope to achieve by just bombing. The Republican Guard have shown no signs that they are going to turn on the present regime, and knowing there is no chance of a ground invasion are not going to sit around in large groups waiting to be bombed. Even if they did decide to overthrow the present regime, then installing a descended of the Shah is fanciful in the extreme.

Other than making a lot of noise, killing civilians in the process, and increasing the price of oil I really cannot see what the U.S. hopes to achieve.

I presume the hope is that the presence of a large threatening force will encourage an uprising without the need for boots on the ground and American blood on the TV screens.

    That is my read anyway.

If Israel really does think that weapons grade uranium is just around the corner, what can it do?

I don't think it can make the US do much more than it already did -which ,according to Spacednik did not do the job.

Seems like loose loose as things stand (Mind you I was blown away by the abilities of the US and Israeli armies' over the past while ,so who knows what they could have up their sleeve despite the long odds?)

Considering that he knows more about geography than anybody else and would brook no contradiction from any sailors or navigators about the location of Greenland the ship would probably end up heading for the South Pole that the penguins native to Greenland inhabit, never to return…with any luck.

    Loose Loose ? 😉

To be fair, the wanton murder committed by the Israeli army on innocent women and children wasn't that impressive. Facilitated by the USA of course.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

"MS NOW reports there is at least one witness for whom 3 interviews with the FBI in rapid succession in 2019 are missing [from the Epstein files]. What's the big deal? We can also confirm that woman is the same person who in a 2025 FBI presentation is identified to have accused Donald Trump of a sexual assault when she was between 13 and 15 years old."

Trump 6 days ago- "I've been totally exonerated"

If things go pear-shaped in the Middle East (best laid plans of men) a Hospital Ship would be of more benefit there…

Pardon my ignorance but I never realised Jared Kushners father was US ambassador to France and who France are now trying to get rid of. Trump pardoned him

Starting in 2005, Charles Kushner spent two years in prison for illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering. He hired a sex worker to seduce his brother in law and sent a tape of them to his sister. He is the father of Jared.

Trump bought Jared's loyalty above all things by pardoning his father and then appointing this criminal to be US ambassdor to France, there are loud rumours Jared has been silenced about divulging who really is Barron's mother.

Hard to believe they hired Charles Kushner. I mean, he hasn't even been accused of sexual assault. He was never going to fit in.

The State of the Union later should be interesting. I'm betting on 2+ hours of self-praise and lies about how great the economy is, how the stock market is beyond anyone's expectations, how he's ended 46 wars personally and how great the White House is going to look with its new vanity ballroom. Members of Congress are sure going to earn their salaries today. I'd rather book in for a full frontal lobotomy with no anaesthetic than listen to that man's voice for two hours.

Fedex have initiated court moves seeking a refund of the tariffs it paid to the Feds under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, known as IEEPA.

‘Plaintiffs seek for themselves a full refund from Defendants of all IEEPA duties Plaintiffs have paid to the United States,’ the company said in the lawsuit as SCOTUS struck down the tariffs on the basis that Trump did not have the authority to impose the tariffs.

The report is in the Daily Mail under the banner headline: First major company breaks ranks and sues US demanding 'full refund'.

    Blackadder: Criminal record?

    Baldrick: None.

Blackadder: Oh come on Baldrick, we're trying to get you into the House of Lords! Tell you what, I'll just put in Fraud and Sexual Deviance.

love it, this is the humiliation Trump and his lickspittles need. FedEx are a proper massive ‘good ‘ol’ American institution, as American as McDonalds or Coca Cola
