First half we were terrible and the game should have been over. Much better in the second half and George showed promise on his debut. We still need two full backs and a decent centre forward for next season.

Can we just go back to Goodison...

Until this team gets a quality striker (Barry as back up) we will continue to be stuck mid table, Bournemouth have unearthed another in Rayan, we should have been on it.

Squad isn't good enough to go near Europe

And we won't attract better quality players unless we're in Europe so it's a vicious circle...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,162 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

Agree squad is not near good eneogh for Europe right now, but ther is a core of a good team, sign a really top striker in summer, and team will progress, we are already on the up from the Dyche era.

Had the better of the second half. Makings of a decent side but let down in a few key positions. Moyes can be limited in his ambitions too.

United were mostly second best but quality matters and they had one bit of it when it counted.

    Those corners were abysmal.

Yea the corners are a calamity, they should be a threat and lead to a shot on target. I blame Tarkowski he is at the centre of all of them, and forever getting booked or giving a free, becoming a liability

Agree we have the makings of a decent team, difference United bought 3 quality forwards in summer, we bought one with potential , until this is addressed we will continue as mid table , I'm like a broken record every week. Grealish is a huge loss too.

Just checked your home PL results since the move. Only 4 wins, is that right?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,162 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

These are teething problems, the reality is we needed a new stadium for a long time, and its a super stadium. The team itself is half built, we desperatly need an experienced striker, once we strenghten team in these areas , we will take the next step. In 18 months the team and club has progressed from relegation fights with a basket case ownership, to mid table stability.

Since you have just checked, you tell us. Is it right?

It's a fantastic looking stadium (not gone on the name it has, though!). Goodison was old school, and I fully understand that there's a section of Evertonians that miss it. I miss Maine Road, truth be told. But I guess clubs have to move with the times.

Jordan Pickford, take a bow son!

To think some fools still go on about Nick Pope.

We lose when expected to win and win when expected to lose.

    Hard to predict this team.

There is a solid core there though

    Both Beto and Barry score!!

    Just play every game away

I was the game today and even from behind the other goal Pickford's save looked immense! A deserved 3pts away from home again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,162 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

Good win, we still blow hot and cold, and need re-inforcements in summer, Braithwaithe goal was class, both goals were scruffy, not fully convinced on Barry, Beto must go in summer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,362 ✭✭✭pavb2

Well done today I enjoyed that, was wondering about Barry looks to be quite dynamic

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,162 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

I'm still uncomnvinced, he's young, and really should have been backup to a proper 9, next season should tell if he is the real deal.

I am completely convinced by Barry. When he gets the right service he’s very good.

He also holds the balls up well and links well with Ndiaye. The problem is, he’s often too isolated because KDH isn’t a no.10.

It doesn’t get much better than scoring off your arse. Interestingly, if he didn’t score it should have been a pen and a red card. So why no red card?
