Appears that deliberate knock ons do result in a yellow card.

Unlike against Ireland that was intentional from Lynagh

    ah ffs

YC justified, but France went piling in off their feet at those last few rucks and got away with it.

If Italy showed up at all they'd have had a chance today but they've been awful.

France not so convincing today bar the result

Wayward lineout killed Italy a couple of times.

think England could beat this French team if they show up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 895 ✭✭✭puntosporting

    No luck at all

The team that just battered England struggled against Italy too. Maybe Italy are that good.

    Scoreboard flatters France a little.

Two tries from wicked bounces especially the Ramos one where skewed of someone's boot.

Italy's back play has stuttered all game.

France are by far and away the best team in the 6 nations....

I fancy Italy to beat England....

massively flatters them imo. France did nothing this half until Italy were down a man. Italy have been excellent defensively today. Their lineout and handling absolutely killed them today.

Almost guaranteed England turn up and beat France

Hard to see it. England turning up hasn’t exactly been guaranteed.

Losing 3 on the bounce would be pretty unprecedented for them,. especially given the talent they have. Borthwick's coaching team is so dull

I mean, sure, if they change the coaching staff and field 23 different players, why not?!

It is very possible...their backs will be to the wall and they will be facing huge pressure...similar to Ireland yesterday....emotionally and mentally at it from the off....

A win away to France to deny them a possible Grand Slam would put a positive spin on an otherwise disastrous 6 nations....

How can France do nothing and be flattered and simultaneously the Italian defence be excellent ?

For a defence to be brilliant they have to be keeping out something brilliant.

Perhaps you missed the part where France couldn't do anything in attack until Lynagh was carded?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,176 ✭✭✭✭Heroditas

I thought Lynagh was dreadful today, from what I saw. Thought Capuozzo's positioning wasn't great at times. Whenever Italy got turned over, France made very easy yards kicking behind them and he was nowhere to be seen.

Italy are building a grizzly pack that can compete with the majority of teams, also how is it that France are getting away with piling in off their feet.

Hard to see anyone other than the French winning the Championship. They're on 15pts as it is and they pick up bonus points so easily. Even if they lose to the Scots in the next round you could still see them finishing on 21 or 22pts (tbp win at home to England and at least 1 if not 2 bps in the Scotland game).

We're only on 9pts now so can't catch them. The Scots are on 11 pts and even if the Scots come to Dublin and win, as well as beating the French in Scotland, I can't see them getting 2 tbp wins in those games.

Also the French have a points difference of +89, so finishing on the same amount of match points means they'll be ranked ahead of you.

France will smash England, especially if they beat Scotland, english rugby is so ugly and poor….

Scotland's final try which effectively won the game was scored off a maul. Fagerson joins that maul from in front of the ball. Could hardly have been more obvious, yet not a peep from Carley or Tempest. Result defining decision.
